[X] Head of the Department of Health Isaac Gros

Pop growth > upkeep on basic materialss, no matter how tight they're supposed to be.

Well, the only basic resource that is tight is currently Thrones.

Plus if Isaac dies his benefits live on.

It really does send a message that anyone competent can get to be one of the most powerful people on Avernus by completely honest, especially in the Administratum.

On reflection, his bonus is more immediately useful, and we can't afford to go long term right now.

I can already imagine all the high profile projects in the future where we'd be desperate for materials and have to conform ourselves to the cheaper solution or wait for a time with more resources. Especially now we need those extra materials more than we need bodies that get us results in twenty five years or so.

It's only thrones we're getting low on, every other basic resource is very much in the green. Especially after we get the new manufactories.
But yeah, it's the cities that'll hold our population down, our forge-hives and cathedrals that are most needed to keep it all together, and those are expensive in thrones.

Not enough to stop Mittens from steal-eating it.

nomnomnom

Its particularly annoying, since the damn furwall (like a furball, but Mittens sized) is usually the one who ordered the thing.

Xavier's neighbors have gotten used to being interrupted by wild eyed delivery boys apologizing that a giant phase tiger just stole the pizza they didn't actually order.

You make fun of the pizza delivery boys, but those harried, pimple-faced, minimum-waged teenagers are still Avernites and could tie anyone of us into a knot without blinking.

Why is no one panicking about this?
They're occupied.

They're fighting the Necrons. If anything I'm rooting for the Tyranids, to trim the Silent King down a bit.
Eh I'm rooting for the King myself.

Even if I didn't prefer dealing crons to nids anyway what we know of him indicates that he is shockingly reasonable by most standards (instantly deciding to cooperate with Ba focusing on the nids before they eat everything, shattering the C'tan cause they were eating everything)

He's not great, but I certainly prefer him...

That being said I have to wonder what his age trait is.

He's 60 million years old after all.
