#StickiedForAReason
Votes that do not follow the template will not be counted!

At this time I am using a counter system, listing the number of days votes take to be put into action. However for write-in votes you don't know how many days an action may take. For this we will use the old system of Major/Minor Decisions, and I will tell you how many days/weeks/months the plan will take. Remember that every month has 28 days, and that there are 13 months in the year with New Years as a special day alone outside the months. There is no leap year, as their calendar is not accurate to that degree.

Major decisions are any new endeavors. Finding new investments. Finding new allies (specify what type, where you're looking if possible, what you want from them, etc) finding new trainers, starting new training even if it is with people you already know... Anything new.

No mixing something that would qualify as a minor decision or free action into your major votes! If you have a question about your votes, ask me.

Talking with specific people about specific subjects. You can generally only talk with one person at a time with this. There are simple logical exceptions, Husband & Wife combos can be put together as one conversation, brother & sister, stuff like that. I'll clarify if a combo is unacceptable when I see the vote. This is also for continuing any long term action. Any major decision that you have already voted to start (not just mused about in-story) can be a minor action the next time around. Continuing training that you have already begun for example. Continuing a long-term investigation or plot. Stuff like this.

Making small talk with characters. You will not learn anything special really, but it gives you more insight into their backgrounds and history, can raise/lower their loyalty or other relationship points with you, etc. Raising/lowering and how much depends on rolls.

These can interrupt any current action(s) and will take precedence over the current plan. A way to change things on the fly as you discover new information or alternate ways to potentially enhance your plan, or change it completely if needed.

Remember for all votes if you take a guard or other individual with you, you will need to write-in which guard/person you take with you (just saying take a guard or ally will leave the decision of which one up to me) and also whether Daenerys tries to use any future knowledge on the decision as well if it is one of hers or she is present. (She still may decide to try and use her future knowledge without your consent if she thinks it necessary.) These details are sub-votes.

[] [Plan] X (Current Month, Short Term, Long Term, Immediate Actions, Purchases, etc.)
-[] Major Decisions: Character name here
--[] Major Decision 1
---[] Sub-conditions of Major Decision 1
---[] Sub-conditions of Major Decision 1
--[] Major Decision 2
---[] Sub-conditions of Major Decision 2
---[] Sub-conditions of Major Decision 2
-[] Minor Decisions: Character name here
--[] Minor Decision 1
---[] Sub-conditions of Minor Decision 1
---[] Sub-conditions of Minor Decision 1
--[] Minor Decision 2
-[] Free Actions: Character name here
--[] Free Action 1
---[] Sub-conditions
--[] Free Action 2
---[] Sub-conditions

You get the jist of this.

However, under the plan vote, you will then put a "Priority" Vote.

[] Aegon Priority: 1. Major Decision 1, 2. Free Action 2, 3. Minor Decision 1, 4. Major Decision 2, etc.
[] Daenerys Priority: 1. Free Action 2, 2. Major Decision 3, 3. Minor Decision 1, etc.

This way we can vote on the general plan, then I can separate the order of events in said plan.

Don't put V1, V2, or any other such revision information into your plan. Just leave it like I have it. Nothing extra. The tally system will update to your newest post. No need to make version markers. It just makes things harder for me.

If an action in a plan is not one for a specific character, more a general idea of what needs to be done, it will still need to go into the priority matrix.

At the end of all your votes, put your reasons explaining your vote choice. As I've said before, a plan with reasons will get more weight than one without. Because reasons matter. I care about reasons more than numbers. I need reasons to help build the characters. Get used to putting reasons into your plans, as eventually reasons will become a requirement rather than a suggestion. This post will change when that occurs.

[] [Plan] X

You may (but are not required to) put additional reasons to agree with that plan beneath your vote if there are reasons for it that the original vote creator didn't put in that you thought of. The more/better the reasoning inside explaining a vote, the greater the chance it will be added into the story.

Votes are typically closed after either 12 or 24 hours unless real life interferes. Ties will be either decided by me, or by whoever is in the forum or the Discord that has not voted already at the time. I will @ whoever is currently in the forum or Discord that I choose to be the tiebreaker.

Plans have specific timelines. Immediate Actions are obviously immediate. Current Month is similarly self-explanatory. Short Term is something that can conceivably be done within 1-3 months, and Long Term is 3-6 months.

@Lunasmeow does Ned know about Aegon? I'm assuming he sent Aegon off with the maid when Lyanna died. What are Aegon's thoughts on the Starks? Dany's?

I don't think it's ever been brought up before, and it's a fairly critical thing. We all know Ned's thoughts on family, after all.

I assume Aegon was sent with the made due to his obvious valaryian features. Couldn't be passed off as Eds bastard. Argon would likely still be considered family so Lord Stark should be concerned for him, might try to keep tabs on Aegon. Ed isn't great at the spy game so I doubt he is very successful. His doors if he has any might even be spied on themselves. I imagine there will be a letter sent eventually if it can ever be considered safe to send. Aegon might be upset over his brother being raised to believe he is a bastard. Potential conflict there. Those are my thoughts anyways

Laena Omake 5 - Official Canon
Omake: Laena V

The heavy iron doors are as imposing as ever. They're black, and embossed with mirrored images of a dragon headed ship being ferried on prevailing winds. Above them is fixed a large wooden placard, inscribed with bold lettering that reads 'Windblown Antiquities'. Then, in slightly smaller writing, 'A Purveyor of Strange Artefacts and other Curiosities for the Discerning Eye'. It's the first of several stops that Laena will have to make before midnight tonight.

Just as Laena goes to knock, a cacophony of clanking gears and sliding metal fittings assaults her ears. She lowers her fist as the sounds are punctuated by a loud thunk which fills the empty air of this quiet side street. The doors swing inward with an ominous creaking, and the strong aroma of incense washes over her. A beat of silence passes before Laena snorts and steps through with nary a care "Yep it's officially a pattern."

A slightly raspy voice calls out from behind a long purple curtain "What fresh nonsense are you spouting now girl?"

Laena moves up to the counter and begins to fiddle with the little knickknacks that Nelaehra usually has on display "Well Nelly. Lately I've noticed that whenever something interesting is about to happen, someone starts things off by openin' a door in an especially dramatic fashion." She pulls on one of the metal balls hanging from a small frame and smiles slightly as it swings back, sending the others click-clacking away in an endless repetition.

"If you break something, you have to buy it."

Laena rolls her eyes and mockingly mouths the much repeated warning. Honestly, you crack a few bits off some dusty old statue and the old bat never lets you live it down. "It looked better without the arms anyways."

"Don't you roll your eyes at me you little brat!" Nelly says sharply, showcasing that mysterious ability that all old women develop at some point in their lives. The ability to sense when someone young isn't behaving to their standards.

"Yeah. Yeah. Whatever. Anyway, ya done back there? I got a deadline to meet." She smirks viciously at the dual natured meaning behind those words.

Nelaehra finally emerges, dressed in her usual flowing robes, eyes narrowed suspiciously "What kind of deadline?"

"The kind that you'd be better off not knowing the details about." Nelly isn't fazed one bit by the vaguely foreboding tone Laena employs. Probably because she's the one who taught her to use it. Laena gives in under her elder's steady gaze "It's… a bit personal."

Nelaehra's eyes simply become more piercing before she nods "Fair enough. Just don't go getting yourself killed. I've put too much effort into making you a useful agent. Quality like yours is more of a rarity than you'd expect." Most would call Nelly a heartless old hag. But Laena had long since determined that the former Volantene simply didn't like to mince words. Her affection showed through her actions more than anything else.

"Trust me Nelly, I'm in no hurry to die."

"Good." The silver haired lady simply nods her head once then raised an eyebrow "So what can I do to help you with this mysterious task of yours?"

Laena takes a moment to remember Dany's description of the substance she needed to get her hands on. "I need ta find two vials of a specific poison. It's something that can kill a man quickly if taken in large doses, but that's usually slow to kick in when ya use it right."

"Oh?" Nelly smiles slyly "expanding your skill set to include assassination now? Last time I offered you a job like that you turned me down. Whoever your target is must have done something special to earn your ire."

A memory of her father's lonely grave flashes in Laena's mind "you could say that."

Her smile fades a bit "Careful not to lose your focus. Personal or not, keep your bearing professional until well after the deed is done."

With a slight hum of acknowledgement Nelaehra disappears once more into the back room and Laena takes a moment to see if anything especially interesting has come into the shop since last she visited. There's some more old looking pottery, exotic pieces of armor that Laena thinks came from Yi Ti, a strangely glowing substance in a glass container shaped like the number eight, and what looks like an assortment of shrunken heads… Laena shivers at the last. "What sick fucks came up with those things?"

Nelaehra returns with two small bottles. Each is about the size of her little finger and filled with a pale green liquid. "These are the concentrated essence of some mushrooms that grow wild in the northern part of Westeros. They'll do for your purposes. You're lucky. I sold most of my stock two days ago. These are the only ones left."

Laena doesn't let her reaction show on her face but she has a growing suspicion as to where those other doses ended up. "Perfect." She reaches for her money pouch but is cut off by Nelly before she can unclasp it.

"No need to pay me for this one, girl. I still owe you for the work you did concerning that heretic Thomas. Truly, I could hardly stop myself from making a… let's say, imprudent decision. Listening to him butcher a sermon about the true gods of this world nearly drove me insane. It's why I had to ask for your assistance to begin with."

Laena takes a moment to decipher the statement "Wait… you mean to say that you're a follower of the Valyrian Gods?"

"Oh, don't act so surprised. I am originally from Volantis after all. I came to Braavos some 20 years ago now, because the followers of the R'hllor were starting to become a little too much of a nuisance. I prayed for guidance, and shortly found myself… pulled here. It was the strangest thing. Almost like a whisper in my head telling me to go north. Not to say that I actually heard any words, it was more like a subtle urge at the back of my mind. Something like migrating birds must feel I imagine..." She scoffs "Now it seems that I'll be moving once more because of that fool that calls himself the Sealord. 'Restore Braavos to its former glory' he says, like it's somehow lost it in the first place. Now the city is full to bursting with smoldering acrimony and pointless paranoia. It's even being threatened by Dothraki of all things. What's next? Will Dragons reappear, harkening the rise of a new Valyrian Empire?"

"And the wheel is complete. The Sealord makes his hatred for Valyrians known, Mecumber and others like him use that hate to gain positions of power, the little people suffer then fight back, breeding more hatred on both sides. An endless cycle leading only to violence and war. Perhaps the gods truly do have some plan for me, if they lead me to the Velaryon siblings just as tensions are about to boil over."

"What's got your mind all twisted up Brat? 'Personal Business' aside you've been staring at that wall for over a minute."

Laena blinks and realizes that, yes, she has been staring at a bare stretch of wall for a suspiciously long time. In a room filled by far more captivating objects no less "Would you believe that I'm admirin' the… solidness of your shop's construction Nelly?" The look Nelaehra levels at her is so flat that Laena can't help but wince slightly. "It was worth a shot?"

"Laena, tell me what has you so out of sorts."

The merchant's use of her proper name is what ultimately convinces Laena to yield the truth of her madcap adventure thus far. She starts with meeting Aegon at Thomas' church, mentions the trip that the Velaryon's took to the abandoned temple, reenacts Zaros' warning about the Dothraki and the subsequent meeting that she stumbled across. The audience she had in the Velaryon's home and the proof of their Divine Blessings. It all culminates in a recitation of the mission she got from Daeneys "So then she tells Zaros to go hire some men to haul out all of the shit Mecumber's got stashed in his vault." She reaches into a pocket sewn into the inside of her tunic "She also forged this letter. I'm supposed to plant it in Mecumber's study along with one of the poison bottles. The other has to be planted on the arse himself when he goes to the Sealord's palace tonight. After I empty it anyway since, ya know, he's supposed to have used it. I wanted more details about where I should start but Dany said I'd know what to do when the time came. That's about it really."

Nelaehra absorbs the entire litany with an impassive mask. Nodding every now and again and sometimes asking for some clarification. When Laena holds up the letter she calmly plucks it from her grasp and gives it a look over. She then folds it back up with care and passes it back to the younger woman. "Well, my girl. Interesting times seem to be upon us. It's a good thing I was already planning to move away from the city." She grabs a satchel from somewhere under the counter and moves towards the door with quick measured steps. "Come along then. You've still much to do, and I have my own preparations to see to."

Laena is astonished by Nelaehra's easy acceptance, but she follows her friend out of the shop regardless. The Volantene had been a fixture in Braavos' underworld for decades, and now she was ready to throw all of her support behind two strangers on Laena's say so? Laeana was simultaneously reassured and incredulous. "Why are you so sure all of this is true Nelly? I lived it, and I'm half expectin' to discover the entire thing is some sort of elaborate trap."

Nelaehra pauses at a fork in the road and glances at Laena with a small mysterious smile "Destiny awaits us both dear girl. Before we part, a word of advice?" At your hesitant nod she continues "We live in a time of revolution. When you find yourself perched upon the precipice of change do not hesitate to leap. For it is only when you fall that you learn whether you can fly." Cryptic declaration made, Nelly melts into the crowd leaving behind a slightly bewildered Laena to blink after her.

The young bravo sighs deeply and wonders why the people she spends time with always feel the need to say shit like that "I mean what's wrong with some simple advice like… wear a cloak it looks like rain today, or don't eat those pies, the beef is a lie." But Nelly is right about one thing at least. She's still got a lot to get done before the meeting at the church. "Dally will probably let me stay at The Rose for a while. She did say that Mecumber keeps bothering some of her girls, so maybe she'll even help me with the plant. Even if the arse doesn't visit, he still needs to walk by there to get to the Palace." Plan made, Laena firms her resolve and starts off towards the Moonpool. More specifically, the most popular pleasure house in the entire city. Madam Delilah's Blooming Rose.

Another Voyage, Another Home
Another Voyage, Another Home
Third Week of the Sixth Month 297 AC

Daenerys cries until late into the night, and falls asleep curled in your arms. A shame that a bed designed for maximum pleasure is first used in at a time of such pain. Still, every cloud has its silver lining they say, and at least all of your people got out safely. You again send a swift prayer to your gods for their protection. Fighting any rioters in Braavos would have been necessary, but dangerous. All it would have taken was running into one band, and the noise of the fighting could have drawn others, or one person could have run off and gathered more while you were busy with the rest of the group. Had you been waylaid, it is very likely that several of you would have died.

Now you are on the open sea, and you soon will have to explain to everyone why you are heading south towards Pentos rather than East towards Lorath. That will be fun... You aren't stopping in Pentos of course, stopping even for a single day would be too much of a risk. Illyrio has power there, and you don't want to give him a chance at anything. No, you'll sail past Pentos and stop to resupply in Myr. Anyone who doesn't wish to follow on to Volantis will be allowed off there, and you will pay for their passage to Lorath as originally promised. You'll explain that you lied about your destination for security reasons, but will you tell them where you are going when you offer them the chance to stay on, or will you only say that you cannot say until you arrive?

Still, you have some time before anyone notices. Few of them have any experience on a ship, and fewer still know how to tell their direction when on one. One or two might guess that you are off course for Lorath, but most will not for some time. For now your concern is Daenerys. It is bad enough that she had to endure the horror of last night, but once that is over she will have to deal with having lost her home, her first real home that she remembers, as well as having to move the date for the wedding yet again... This whole situation is a mess. The only upside being that at least in Volantis you won't need to hide your identities, as being a Targaryen there is more to your benefit than not, and that you'll be able to be married before your own gods instead of some others for lack of priests.

Being a Targaryen... finally you'll be able to openly declare yourself, no longer hiding in fear of the Usurper. In the Black Walls even he will have trouble getting assassins in, and you can start truly plotting the vengeance you are due. You may for the first time openly reach out to Houses like Velaryon, & Celtigar, both of the Old Blood, and sworn to your family for generations, tied to you by bonds of blood. Houses Sunglass and Bar Emmon, not Valyrian but sworn to Dragonstone and thus your family for generations as well, though now sworn the the Usurper's brother as he is the current Lord of the island, they may also secretly join their true lord. You can even attempt to reach out to the North, and finally tell your twin of your existence and who he truly is, though all messages are read by the Maester first and the Lord second, so you'll have to be careful there. If the Maester is not trustworthy and you say too much, Jahaerys' life would be in danger, and even if he is trustworthy, Lord Stark would have to see the message first... Perhaps instead something directly to Lord Start first, then speak with him in person, inviting him to Volantis? And there is also Dorne. They still want someone to be royalty in the kingdoms. They met you once when they though Viserys was to be king and offered Arianne in marriage. It is far too soon to broach the subject, but perhaps in time Daenerys might accept her as a possible second wife and you could gain Dorne to your cause that way.

Many are the possibilities once you can operate openly instead of hiding like a criminal. Many will be eager to make alliances with the Targaryen line. You are the last of the Dragonlords and that still carries weight, even now. Especially with wealth, and therefore power at your fingertips. This fleet is enough reason alone to be allied with some. Volantis is not as skilled at shipbuilding as Braavos, and you come with a larger fleet than they currently have for themselves. They'll provide you asylum with open arms so long as you agree to use the fleet in defense of Volantis at need, and likely would regardless just to have the blood of the Dragonlords in the city.

The triarchs will no doubt try to marry you to a daughter or two. Getting true Dragonlord blood in the family would be an immense boost to any family there. You will have to wed Dany soon after arriving, before they attempt to pressure you into marrying her off to someone else. Once you have her as a wife, such attempts would be frowned upon by all. Especially a marriage blessed by the gods of Valyria of Old. You will need to learn the customs of this place though. They will see you as a Dragonlord, but also as an outsider. The customs of Valyria will need to be your customs, or even your blood will not save you from making enemies. Still, no place could be safer for you than one you build yourself, and from here you may just finally have to opportunity to attempt to build such. There are several outer villages of the city. Should you found one, or take control of one somehow, you could build it up into a place of power all your own. What's more, you can prove that you are gifted by the gods, doing so should make you extremely valuable to the priesthood, and that is always a bonus, so long as you can keep them on your side.

There will be dangers, nothing is ever truly safe, but at least the dangers will be less than elsewhere. They will be the normal dangers of people with ambition and not the dangers of people simply hating who you are for your name and blood. Here, you can be normal for once. Well, normal for a noble at least. You look down at Dany beside you, your thoughts as always returning to her. Here, you can give her a home she won't have to flee.

Daenerys stirs and you pull her close as she wakes, offering silent but unwavering comfort once more. Perhaps after breakfast she'll be ready to talk about what has happened.

Dany is quiet all morning, but by high noon you know you cannot allow it to continue. If you don't confront her and talk about what happened she'll only remain depressed longer. After the noonday meal you pull her aside and return to your quarters. She at first insists that she is fine, but you know her too well to accept such an obvious lie. Eventually you get her to admit that she is bothered, but she knows that people are depending on you, both of you, and so she has to remain strong. You remind her that remaining strong is your job, and that being supportive is hers. The people rely on the dynamic that they are accustomed to. The strong but just Lord, who can push forward through even the most horrifying of experiences, and the also strong, but more importantly kind and understanding Lady, who tempers her Lord's strength with kindness and wisdom. A tale, yes; but one the people need to believe in, during these times more than others. But here, in your private chambers, here she can be weak, and so can you.

"Never lie to me Daenerys," you say as you look her in the eye. "Not even if you think it is for my own good, or because you don't want to burden me, and I'll do the same with you. We can't help each other if we don't know the truth. The people need you to be strong; I simply need you to be my wife." When you call her your wife her eyes widen and she suddenly remembers that the wedding was not finished being planned. Exactly the distraction you were hoping for.

"I know, but while it may have been put off, now it will be even better. In Volantis we can marry under our true names, before our true gods. And what's more, it will be a wedding fit for a King and Queen. The Triarchs and all the nobles of Volantis will attend. For there we shall be revered rather than maligned. It can be the wedding you deserve, rather than the one you accept." You've found a suitable distraction, because although her eyes still have a haunted look in them, there is excitement too, and as you talk the haunted look slips away more and more. You feel bad for manipulating her, but you know it is better this way.

The first two days of the voyage are clear, but on the third day sails are spotted on the horizon. Pirates. You are safe however, as they number only five ships, and give your fleet a wide berth. You do worry about encountering any larger groups however. Should the pirates learn just what is travelling on these ships, even if it is only through your assumed Velaryon name, they will band together in force and risk all to take you. The Royal Treasury of a wealthy Targaryen king is nothing to pass up, even at a healthy risk after all, and Jahaerys' treasury was full to bursting when he passed on, after putting 1/4 into the Iron Bank. This is probably the largest amount to travel across the sea since that time. You can only hope that by the time they figure it out, you are already long gone.

However the sight of the pirates gives you pause. They'll no doubt question what such a large fleet is doing, especially flying the Velaryon flag. If you pause in Myr to resupply and procure passage to Lorath for those who wish to go, you might give them time to get the information they need to plot against you and band with other pirates. On the other while you have enough supplies to make it to Volantis in a straight run, there is a chance those who do not wish to go there may attempt a mutiny.

Once again, you are faced with a choice.

What will you tell the passengers?
[] Tell the passengers you true destination, it's bound to come out sooner or later, and that way they can make an informed decision about either Volantis or Lorath.
[] Don't tell them. The whole point is that no one can know where to find you. You want to keep it hidden until you arrive in Volantis. If you lose some people because they can't handle the secrecy of an unknown destination, so be it.

Where do you make port?
[] Stop in Myr as planned.
[] Push on to Volantis. You can always get people rides from Volantis to Lorath if they wish.

Yeah. No. I'm not taking any chances of getting hit by pirates just because of a slight chance of mutiny. They are getting saved from the Dothraki and the riots and they are getting paid well. Furthermore we are offering them lifts when we get there and also have Dany's magic charisma to fall back on if all else fails.

Also I had an idea, try to flip the North to our side, tell Jon of his heritage and offer Ned a royal marriage between Jon and either one of his daughters or a Manderly and a seat of either Master of Laws for a Northerner of his choosing or Master of Coin for a Manderly. Of course we will have to send this message once we have Dragons, so that the threat of blood and fire if he refuses is real. Ned loves his family and Kingdom, a royal marriage for the Starks, a Northern Prince and a Northern Small Council seat versus dragonfire and the promise to inform Robert of Jons heritage should be enough to scare him into raising for us.

-[X] If mutiny or unrest does happen, hear their cries and try to settle it peacefully. You have, after all, saved them from a Dothraki horde that was about to raid the city.

-[X] If anyone tries to start a mutiny just calm things down and remember them that they could be facing the dothraki. Instead they are in your boats safe from the savages. The least they can do is follow your instructions.

Now is not time to be polite. Just carry on to Volantis and don't tell anyone until they figure it out or we arrive.

  • [X] Tell the passengers you true destination, it's bound to come out sooner or later, and that way they can make an informed decision about either Volantis or Lorath.
[X] Stop in Myr as planned.

-[X] If mutiny or unrest does happen, hear their cries and try to settle it peacefully. You have, after all, saved them from a Dothraki horde that was about to raid the city.
[X] Don't tell them. The whole point is that no one can know where to find you. You want to keep it hidden until you arrive in Volantis. If you lose some people because they can't handle the secrecy of an unknown destination, so be it.

--[X] If anyone tries to start a mutiny just calm things down and remember them that they could be facing the dothraki. Instead they are in your boats safe from the savages. The least they can do is follow your instructions.

The best way to keep pirates from knowing who and what we are is to not give them the chance to find out. So passengers might be upset but screw them. We can pay for there travel elsewhere.

Well we discussed things on Discord, and us the Dragon priests seem to have reached the conclusion that disclosing the information will avoid some callamities. Furthermore I'm using a nat20 on our diplo roll this turn.
