Moratorium is up, throwing my plan into the ring once more!

[X] Plan The Story of Skjold
-[X] Investigate (Kraken Sea and the Tide of Skjold)
-[X] Acquire Relic (Set of Norscan Grave Goods)
-[X] Excursion - Tide of Skjold (Kraken Sea, Sea Beasts, priority being one of a species that the Norscans of the Kraken Sea offer their dead to, preferably with the body in good enough condition to be stuffed and preserved rather than just the skeleton.)

Quoting all of my accumulated arguments and elaboration on my plan for the next exhibit:
Alright, so as I've mentioned before, my plan for an exhibit revolves around the Kraken Sea. In specific, the funerary practices of the Norscans who live upon the shores bordering it (which I believe are the Bjornlings) and how, both in terms of culturally (the feeding of the dead to the sea beasts, and how some are rejected and float down to the bottom) and magically (whatever phenomena brings them back as zombies) that led to the creation of the Tide of Skjold.

This should lead to an exhibit which our Skald is excellently suited to dressing up with his Detailed understanding of Norsca and Authority Knowledge of the History of the Vampire Coast (which might be good for the Tide of Skjold.) We can likely set up a significant History Theme, alongside the presence of Magic and Sea Beasts. If we're really lucky, the phenomena that means that the dead Bjornlings who don't get eaten come back as Zombies might be something that we can connect to the Necromantic Diaspora for some Harkon appeal.

This first action we'd Investigate for links between the Kraken Sea and the Tide of Skjold, particularly when it comes to their creation. This should give us leads we can follow up next turn. 2nd is getting a replica of the Tide of Skjold (the ship), assuming this is something we can acquire with an "Acquire Relic" action and don't need to go do something special for it. If it is though, I have some ideas for alternate relics we could go for.

As for the third, I have an idea for a part of the exhibit where we have a Draugr dressed up like a Bjornling warrior with all his grave goods being sent into the maw of one of the Kraken Sea's beasts, with a second Draugr dressed up similar being ignored and sinking to the bottom. For that, we'd need an appropriate Sea Beast. Fortunately that's doubly the Tide of Skjold's specialty (both Norsca and Sea Beast), so that's on them. Meanwhile, we have Paht acquire the necessary grave goods either this turn or next turn.

Next turn we can pursue whatever leads come up. Think maybe we could pursue one Lead with the Tide of Skjold, one with the Skald. Maybe bring our new student along for one of them as well. Third Action I'd want to put on procurement of an additional Relic (Norscan Grave Goods.)
So, swapping out the Tide of Skjold ship replica with getting Norscan Grave Goods, so we can see if we get a Lead that lets us get something like Harkon's flagship as a Relic.

But I have a vision for this exhibit where it's like, divided in half. Where one half shows the buriel at sea on the Kraken Sea of one Draugr sailing into a sea beast's mouth, while the other sinks, abandoned.

And then the second half we have Draugr rising from the dead, surrounding the Runestone of the Tide of Skjold, this half detailing the rise of the Tide of Skjold themselves.

As I've said every time I tried to push this idea, I think we are extremely perfectly suited for this kind of Exhibit (Norscan acquisitionists, Norscan Skald), and in terms of appeal, this appeals to the History and likely Magic (once we learn more about how the Tide of Skjold came to be) part of Awakening, the Sea Beast part of the Sea Elves, and possibly the Necromantic Diaspora for Harkon.

We just got a runestone that is about the birth of the Tide of Skjold and is a centerpiece, and this whole exhibit I'm working on is specifically about that.
To try and describe my idea for an exhibit:
-It starts with a depiction of the Norscan funerary processes in the Kraken Sea. We have a Draugr dressed up as a Norscan champion, being sent out to sea. We have our Kraken Sea Beasties stuffed and set up so it looms with its mouth open, ready to swallow the champion whole.
-However, we also have other Draugrs dressed up similarly who are being ignored, and they are shown sinking, forsaken and abandoned.
-Then, we have at the 'bottom' the other half of our story, with Draugr representing the crew of the Tide of Skjold rising from the dead, with the Runestone of Skjold acting as a centerpiece that they surround (possibly also including this Pearl of Skjold as well.) This part of the exhibit would be the big boast about the Tide of Skjold and its rejection of Chaos in favor of Haakon.

Essentially we show the process of how the Tide of Skjold came to be, culminating in its formation and its pledge of allegiance to Harkon.

I think this exhibit would go far with our audience and staff. The Tide of Skjold are perfect acquisitionists for the beast, the Skald is excellently suited to elaborate on our exhibits, we have the Runestone as the perfect centerpiece, and our audiences should love the History, Magic, Sea Beast, and Necromantic Diaspora themes this exhibit is likely to have.

I also consider this exhibit to be fairly flexible, since we already have the centerpiece we need, and other aspects can be emphasized or sidelined depending on how Relic acquisition goes up without damaging the overall theme.
In summary, an exhibit about the origins of the Tide of Skjold, particularly in relation to the funerary practices of the Norscans of the Kraken Sea.

I genuinely believe that we have all the pieces in place to make this exhibit. We have the right acquisitionist to gather additional Relics, the right staff to top up the relics we acquire, we have Audiences that will be interested in many of the themes of this exhibit (History, Magic, Sea Beasts), and we have the perfect Centerpiece.

This turn would be setting up Leads to investigate next for other big ticket items that can be used as part of the exhibit, sending out the Tide of Skjold on an expedition to acquire another major part of the exhibit, and having Paht get one of the more mundane relics that would be useful for ensuring the exhibit is workable.

Edit:
[X] Plan: Preparations through Peers, Plants and Plumbing the Depths

Approval voting Plans that at least take some steps towards my planned exhibit, particularly sending out the Tide of Skjold to go hunt in the Kraken Sea.

[X] Plan The Story of Skjold

Sold, this is a good place for that center-piece and if we ever get an audience interested in Norsca/Chaos/Funerary practices they will love it. Also this is not tracked mechanically, bur I think the Tide will like us a little bit more for putting them center stage like that.

Plan grabbed from here:
That leaves us with:

[X] Plan: Preparations through Peers, Piracy and Plants
- [X] Broaden Horizons
-- [X] New Audience - Arabyan Academics
- [X] Acquire Relics - via the Tide of Skjold
-- [X] Excursion - Tide of Skjold (Mousillon, Artefacts of Undeath)
- [X] Acquire Relics - via Princess Aelsabrim Fallenstar
-- [X] Plants

Grabbing Araby this turn hits enables us to immediately get that White Tower contact we just voted for, Plants are fun and likely magical-ish and we finally actually hunt down some loot that fulfills our host's wishes.

[X] Plan: Lustrian Magic
- [X] New Audience: Arabyan Academics
- [X] Acquire Relic: Magical Relics
- [X] Pursue Lead: Nakai the Wanderer (with Aenureir)

The Arabyan Audience likes Magic, and what we've got will be enough to tip us over into the next Goodwill. Relics are going to be largely Lizardman Magic. Nakai the Wanderer lives in a magical floating city.

______

[X] Plan: Preparations through Peers, Piracy and Plants

A more eclectic mix, but the only way we get a vampire/necromantic exhibit is to go out and start plugging away at it. Plants are going to be somewhat useful regardless of how the roll goes, and +1 Goodwill has several potential good uses.

Wouldn't the Skald be a better pick than Aenureir to accompany this Lead?
With his ship and his fortress already part of your collection, Haakon the Bloody isn't particularly brimming with remaining artefacts for you to seek, but you do find points of interest on his periphery. The birth of Haakon the Bloody is of particular interest to you, as it seems that the former captain of the Niflhundr died in a conflict with an ancient wandering Kroxigor known as 'Nakai'. Kroxigor are rare enough for that to get your interest, but the ones that follow this Nakai are supposedly even rarer, bearing the blessings of the Lizardman Gods and wielding strange magical weapons of gold and jade. There's also mention of a floating temple usually associated with this Lizardman - if regular temples are filled with interesting artefacts, then surely a floating temple would be even more so.
The Skald would have been physically present for this confrontation after all, and probably has a much better understanding of Lustria in general with his Detailed Knowledge than the Princess who was noted to be out of her depth.

I can see two ways we could get a Norsca-interested audience. First would be getting into deeper contact with Skeggi, which as Norscans far away from home I imagine would definitely have an interest. Second would be that we can probably set up an interest in Norsca among the Awakening by playing into the origins of the first settlers of the Vampire Coast being Undead Norscans.

As another exhibit that would have some Norsca focus, I'd like to later do some investigation into Haakon the Reaver and any particularly notable deeds done before he ended up in Lustria and started the chapter of the Bloody. The Voyages of the Haakon exhibit is rather threadbare, and some investigation into that could probably uncover some interesting Relics. Relics that would also probably involve the Vampiric Diaspora and get us Patron approval.

Aiming towards any specific audience is going to be a longterm effort with current mechanics, which is reasonable since audiences are powerful, and Skeggi has the distinct disadvantage of having the steps to get there be very unsexy. We would need a Contact with ties to Skeggi, something we have yet to actually encounter and which will likely struggle to offer novel stuff compared to Aelsabrim and the Tide. We furthermore just picked an Aelsabrim option that makes furthering her Contact chain super shiny.

Have you considered unleashing the Tide upon Lustria to hunt Magic? The Magical Relics from Aelsabrim aren't going anywhere. The option can be easily postponed to some later turn since we won't be doing another exhibit right away. Meanwhile the Tide won't always be available. They've got access to both bartering, river raiding and seafloor archeology, so they should be well-equipped to get some cool stuff. I wouldn't even be suprised if Old One stuff was on their loot table since their seafloor access is such a rare trait.

Well, I see someone's already started off with the speculative plan I posted; appreciate it, Broccoliccoli! That said, I've also been considering a plan aligned with Chimeraguard's planned exhibit, which I am very fond of (and am appreciative of the passion behind) and shouldn't take too long to prepare. I'm content to hold off on vampirism for another couple of turns, especially since Chimeraguard's exhibit is one that would directly reinforce Harkon's authority.

Same plan, just with a different target for the Tide that hopefully sets us up for the exhibit focused on them!

[X] Plan: Preparations through Peers, Piracy and Plants

Still, I do like going after vampiric and necromantic necroturgic artefacts.

Edit: You know what, after reflecting, I think I'll add an approval vote for the original SoS plan. I still prefer PPPP and PPPPD to Lustrian Magic (and, damn it, I'll regret missing out on the plants), but, emotionally, I want Chimeraguard's exhibition to succeed.

I'll approval vote this plan out of desperation for some part of my planned exhibit to make progress, and this gets out of the way the most time-intensive of the required steps.

I also think if we're going after artifacts to appeal to Harkon's diaspora interest, we ought to do an Investigate into Haakon the Reaver's activities in Norsca rather than Mousillon. After all, we already have an exhibit that'd be perfect for displaying any Haakon artifacts, but Mousillon we don't have any sort of baseline, either in Staff specializations or other leads to follow to build on whatever's found.

[X] Plan whoops all vampires
-[X] Acquire Relic (Vampire Hunter Relics)
-[X] Investigate (Neferata's Lahmia)
-[X] Excursion - Tide of Skjold (Mousillon, Artefacts of Undeath)

A plan designed to start an Exhibit focused on Luthor's interests, or maybe retool the existing Voyages of Harkon? Anyway, this starts collecting artifacts of that nature more directly. Paht goes looking for Vampire Hunter stuff as I think it might be safer, but maybe it won't matter. Plus having a Centerpiece from the start of it all holds a certain appeal to me.

Now's a good time to do this stuff, I think.

[X] Plan: Lustrian Magic

[X] Plan: Lustrian Magic but with Fjolnir
- [X] New Audience: Arabyan Academics
- [X] Acquire Relic: Magical Relics
- [X] Pursue Lead: Nakai the Wanderer (with Skald Fjolnir)

As someone else said, Skald Fjolnir seems more relevant to this pursuit, given his history and specialisation. No idea if there's a mechanical benefit but I have some aesthetic preference.

Long term I think there might be something to be said for trying to get more contacts with Skegi and Norsca in general. They are the sorts to both respect reavers, even if they are dead at the time of the reaving, and of course have a liking for our gold. They get into everything and know a surprising amount that other more 'civilized' people do not bother looking into. I haven't forgotten those Lizardmen connections in their runes, but even beyond that they are a gateway to an entire world plundered. Who knows what manner of artefact and secret lore is lying in the back of some unknown longhouse?

Getting an exhibit focused on that is a path to getting them as an audience and eventually a source of aquisitions and aquisitionists.

I want to make an expy of Zheng Yi Sao, the Chinese, that was so badass she was pardoned, but need help with the name.

"Zheng Yi Sao" apparently means "wife of Zheng", which, okay. I have an idea. But anyone else have an idea?
