[x][Seraphine] Deny Everything: What Magic? That Was Just My New Hextech Thing!

Jinx isn't a snitch.

From Jinx's standpoint I imagine this is about how much she trusts the Kiraman. Will she desperately lie showing she still doesn't trust them enough, try to argue the point defiantly because she doesn't trust them not to have her back or will she gamble on their bond to keep things a secret?

Cait's a certified badass so she's a no-brainer. It's risky to take Seraphine along but my copium is hoping that she could somehow pickup Vi's song and give us a hint that she's still alive.

Man I hope Vi gets the Jinx treatment not the Warwick treatment.

Anyway, you got to remember Heimerdinger and plausible deniability.

If Jinx claims it's hextech, then even if Mrs Kirraman sees through it instantly, she can acquiesce, keep things secret by pretending she believes it.

If we openly tell her it' magic, she has to report or commit treason.

I ain't no snitch.

I want at least our emotional support (future) cop with us.

[X][Undercity] Sneak Out Alone
seraphine is too young. Caitlyn is too noticeably piltoverian. Seems to me that this is a vote of risk vs reward, with the larger gang being forced to take lesser risks to make up for not knowing how to blend in.

How Does Jinx Handle the Seraphine Situation?

[ ][Seraphine] Deny Everything: What Magic? That Was Just My New Hextech Thing!

[ ][Seraphine] Ask Mrs. Kiramman to keep this secret.

[ ][Seraphine] Challenge the Ethos: They're already changing the law for Hextech, why not include Seraphine?

Yeah no. Challenging the Ethos is something to be done after Hextech has normalized magic somewhat, and you know, we've done a bit of work preparing the ground.

As to Deny or Ask...

She'd started off singing softly, almost under her breath, but by the end she was belting it out like a stage performer. Other stuff had been happening along with the song, I could see bits of blue and pink light glistening in the air, and at one point I could swear she was actually hovering in the air. Not that I really registered any of that when her singing had my full attention. It felt like she was pulling the words right out of my heart.

...

Before I could put any of that into words, I heard a loud clatter from the doorway. I looked over, and Mrs. Kiramman was standing there, her mouth hanging open in shock and a platter of sandwiches lying at her feet. "I thought ... you might want ... a snack. What is...?"

The options are deny or ask.

The thing is that Cassandra knows what Hextech does at this point. She's read the reports, probably went over them in great detail at the "So I'm funding Hextech Research" meeting because the Council finding out. Also she is probably fully aware that no Jinx does not have any of the requisite materials because really do not give explosive stuff to the only recently coming out of a malaise preteen:
Trauma
Severity:
-2 -> -4
"This world is a wasteland. Please let me go."

So Deny is not about convincing her. It is entirely about giving that cover. And... I don't think anyone would actually believe that cover if they knew about it. Cassandra is taking the same risks. It's asking while letting Cassandra off the hook.

And frankly on this - I think we want the hook. This is the most adorable that Seraphine is going to be - she's already demonstrably safer than Hextech, and this is the reality of the mage plight. It is someone younger than 11 not hurting someone and putting a random individual who notices into a sudden plight by the laws. It puts Cassandra as having a piece of skin in the game for the fact that yes - we are going to be pushing for changing the criminalization of existence of mages at some point.

"Nothing can be done", "We can't change anything" - that's what I hear so often elsewhere. And the people saying it are rotten liars. Change of laws and systems can be done - but it takes work. It takes effort. And we just got someone slapped in the face by reality.

[X][Seraphine] Ask Mrs. Kiramman to keep this secret.

[X][Undercity] Invite Caitlyn
-Arguments:
1. Caitlyn can either come with her or Jinx is doing it by herself.
2. Jinx doing it by herself means that everyone gets to deal with her testing stuff in the field if anything goes wrong. So really Caitlyn would be doing a public service coming with.
3. Caitlyn was just talking about never having a chance to meet Mylo and Claggor. Ekko is Jibx's friend and the last surviving one in Zion. And Cailyn isn't one to make the same mistake twice.
4. Now shut up and put on these clothes so you don't look like a Piltie across the river - and stay silent until we get there!

Yeah I am not for pulling Seraphine with us. She's like nine? And Zion isn't doing great?

I don't go blabbing the secrets people tell me to other people I trust without telling them. Who cares if Jynx trusts Caitlyns moms? This is Seraphines secret. Blabbing makes you the person who can't be told anything without it making it's way to their partner.

I have to question why people are using snitching to describe the cat getting out of the bag and the efforts to shove the cat back in.

Like - Cassandra being told wasn't the plan. She knows what happened. Jinx is not convincing her. I'm suspecting that people are significantly overestimating how effectively Jinx's cover story is.

Would you prefer to describe it as outing? Either way, the cat's to be treated as in the bag until Seraphine decides otherwise.

She did though. Jinx started the scene working on a Hextech gun:
I'd never made a real gun before. Well, technically I still hadn't, depending on how you defined what a 'real gun' was. Still, if all the math I'd done and the blueprints I'd come up with in my head panned out, I wouldn't wanna get hit by one of the hex bolts this thing shot out.
She could've easily started the scene working on a Hextech karaoke machine instead, if that was what she'd wanted to do.
