Operation Weihnachtswunder (A CK2 Style Quest to Save Christmas!)

Martial - Train With Krampus: 58 + 12 (Krampus) + 2 (The Will of Santa) = 72. Second Tier

When you took Krampus up on his offer to train you, you hadn't expected to have to engage in fisticuffs. But here you are, an eternally mid-50 year old man boxing your heart out as the demon holds the bag and is shouting at you.

"COME ON, BEZOS COULD PUNCH HARDER THAN THAT!"

You furrow your brow, and double your efforts. To be fair, your punches are moving the bag. But Krampus is holding firm. You fire them off still, left, right, left, right, left, right hook.

"THAT CORPORATE PISSANT IS GOING TO SELL EVERYTHING YOU KNOW AND LOVE TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER. HE'S GOING TO TURN BLITZEN INTO REINDEER JERKY!"

Harder. Faster. You put more into your jabs. You had assumed he'd train you with your cane, or a stick weapon like a bo staff. But he wanted you to start from the basics. And that meant punching. Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning, two hours in the morning. Until he thinks you're ready.

"HE'S GOING TO MELT JACK INTO ICE SLUSHY!"

You know he's trying to get you angry. Make you want to hit harder. And it's working. There is a lot riding on you, and if you fail, bad things happen to the world. It's more then just London. Or even just England.

"HE'S GOING TO MAKE WESLEY WEAR FUCKING PANTS!"

You stop bothering with the jab, and start with harder punches, putting your back into it. Harder, and harder, though it's still not enough to move the big demon off the bag.

"HE WILL KILL CHRISTMAS ITSELF, UNLESS YOU STOP HOLDING BACK AND PUNCH HIM!"

You yell, drawing up every bit of power within you. With that, you put your all into a single punch, nailing it square in the center. The bag recoils from your blow, moving Krampus an inch backwards.

"GOOD! Good. That's a good start." Krampus lets go of the bag, throwing a towel to you. You didn't realize it, but you were sweating buckets. You take it, and start wiping yourself off "Grab some water. We'll get some laps in after I'm done

As you do just that, you see Krampus start taking shots at the bag himself. Apparently the training wasn't just for you. He lost a lot of power. And as the holder of the Chair of Swords - who named it that, anyways? - He has to get back to where he was. Especially since Jack chose the Faebane for the Chair of Mouths.

You wonder if you should have a gym installed into the workshop. Borrowing one of the common rooms is fine, but an actual training area would probably do wonders.

Germanic Dwarves: 28 + 600 (The Bribe) + 8 (The Halfway Bonus) + 10 (Omake) = 646. Complete Success

You knew this was a big risk. A very big risk. If this went wrong, you had no way to quickly replace the Christmas Spirit you were trading. Which meant more than a year of breathing room was gone.

But you know the Dwarves of Germany. Deep within their mountains, leading to hidden realms. They crafted most of the Artifacts of Christmas. Furthermore, anything the Dwarves made were of some of the highest quality. Metal that wouldn't rust, magic that wouldn't fade. Just a toy made by the Dwarves could fetch a high price.

So if you want to be taken seriously - especially as a worthy holder of the office of Santa Claus - you need to show you were willing to put your money where your mouth is. Or rather, exotic crafting material. And Christmas Spirit is pretty exotic, if you say so yourself. If this didn't get them out of their mountains, nothing will.

You had expected it to be a while before you heard anything. The Dwarves were not ones to make decisions quickly. So it's to your surprise that right after Valentine's Day, you would find Asek, Son of Ivaldi at your desk, with the Coat of Christmas, gifts, and offering things most of the Unseen World would sell their own mothers for.

Krampus looks towards the sky, an odd look upon his face. He is visibly confused about something. But before you can ask him if he is okay, Xistoria speaks up first. "This feels all too familiar. Just like when we fell with Lucifer…"
