seconding what people are saying about security measures. most aren't relevant until they are, so the only benefit from them would be getting them before it's needed and making sure we don't get caught off guard. stuff like the Cavalry's important, but it'd hamstring our ability to get anything else and if we need to use it the quest's probably pretty doomed already? so i'd put it on the backburner and try and afford everything that'd stop it from being needed first (focusing on later getting the spirit/energy to be able to afford this would be good though)
only exception to that's the SEP field generator, which is a preventative measure

upgrading our various facilities, especially the christmas spirit generator would probably be good too, but not sure how much should go where really

Its kind of like a medical wing for him in case future mischief ends with him hurt again.
oh, quick note, it might not be too relevant with the vote being pretty clear but the cold room seems like it's only relevant for healing defrosted (physical injuries need the medical ward?) so it won't be good for everything (though there may be other use-cases like boosting their stats or dealing with that enchanted flamethrower that's probably still around)
Just found this quest and am looking forward to our first moves. This also reminds me of a video I saw recently that seems a perfect fit:
and iirc that music video was actually the inspiration for this quest, it got linked towards the start
Also, who do you think we should send the three spirits of Christmas+Marley to terrorize first?
rudolph might be the most viable since they may be harboring some guilt and thus could be vulnerable, and maybe the fact he's a reindeer will help keep him from revealing to others that he's being visited by the spirits? remember that if the ghosts start appearingt they might have suspicion of us being involved, after all...

Can Frosty be meaningfully hurt in a way that doesn't autoheal beginning next turn, except for being de-frosted?

Could be difficult to integrate with rest of our Team, but could be very valuable Just to remove him from Amazons Team.

Else: Some US-Healthcare companies christmas party, have all turned workers accept all reasonable claims, with a "Happy Christmas" at the end, instead of the usual "avoid ever paying out, fuck the patient".

Yeah, that's true. I'm definitely curious what's up with Rudolph since killing him can both help and worsen Blizten's revenge issue.

Good morning! Am in desperate need for breakfast and coffee, but I am alive!

Was a direct inspiration for the quest!

Well, the name "Blake Midwinter" is probably from there, although the exact lore is a bit different.

It is indeed! There was a thought of having the quest be from Blake's POV. But I didn't want to crush everyone's holiday spirit.

and iirc that music video was actually the inspiration for this quest, it got linked towards the start

I have had it a little bit of each day since it's coming out. It's such a bop!

...yeah, that's going to be very interesting if Blitzen is the one to kill Rudolph.

There are ways.

i imagine it depends on the specifics, doing so can be cathartic and resolves the situation/removes them as a threat/makes up for the harm they caused but can also prevent future resolution, so if they still wanted to process the emotions it could be harder, especially if killing a former friend is traumatic?

so ultimately depends on the circumstances.
as an example, if Rudolph is killed purposely in a battle after Blitzen gets to ask them why they did XYZ it'd probs go far better than an accidental/cold blooded kill while Blitzen's still doubting Rudolph's motivations and unsure of if he's beyond saving or not?
though tbh I'd assume this quest isn't willing to try and kill of Rudolph even if he's the scum of the earth or something? since it would be the "wrong" choice from one moral perspective. that's what tends to happen, at least.

Interesting that he'd use heathen and be called pagan, both originally being christian slurs for allegedly uncultered people not following an Abrahamic religion, one based on a germanic word and one a latin word.
It's more a cultural thing that he picked up during his wanderings across Europe. I'd personally think that he'd pick up a few things in his time.

He's the winter god of the Tengari Religion, formerly worshiped and then passed down as a Gift giver in Turkic folklore.

I'll be getting his character sheet soon enough.

Also my vote

So, I may end the vote earlier then planned. Mainly because it looks like a runaway. So unless something changes hard, expect the end of lunch when I eat my voting.

Wait, strike that. Reverse that. Thank you.

Westly the Maid - Starting Stat Sheet New
Wesley, The Maid

Martial: 28 (20 + 5 (Maid Arts: Kneel And Break) + 3 (Maid of Scrooge and Marley))

Diplomacy: 6 (3 + 3 (Maid of Scrooge and Marley)

Stewardship: 21 (15 + 3 (Next to Godliness) + 3 (Maid of Scrooge and Marley)

Intrigue: 15 (12 + 3 (Maid of Scrooge and Marley)

Learning: 13 (10 + (3 Maid of Scrooge and Marley))

Occult: 11 (5 + 3 (Next to Godliness) + 3 (Maid of Scrooge and Marley))

Maid of Scrooge and Marley- (Fluff) - +3 All Stats. Once per Turn, you may use one of Scrooge's Stats instead of yours. You may instantly teleport to any of the following locations, regardless of location: Anywhere in the Workshop or Toy Shop. Anywhere within 50 feet of Ebenezer Scrooge or Jacob Marley.

Next To Godliness - (Fluff). +3 to Stewardship and Occult. You can interact with a person's Uncleanliness, and attempt to purify them of it. +10 to cleaning and purification rolls, as well as general maid duties

Maid Arts: Kneel and Break - You will not tolerate disrespect towards either of your Masters in your presence. Those that do will be made to kneel. Those who refuse to kneel will Break. +5 Martial. Variable Bonus to Martial against those who disrespect, insult, or attack Ebenezer Scrooge or Jacob Marley. Those who attempt such actions within 1 Kilometer of you, and have a lower Martial + Occult than you, gain one Instance of "Maid Art Penalty: Kneel And Break."

House-Pulled: (Fluff): -25 to all Rolls when not in an area that is a legal target for her to teleport to via Maid of Scrooge and Marley.

Major Upgrades: Maid of the House >> Maid of Scrooge and Marley. Cleanliness >> Next to Godliness. Maid Arts: Tolerate No Disrespect >> Maid Arts: Kneel And Break. Houselocked >> House-Pulled.

Well. I feel safer. "I can teleport adjacent to you at will, and also anyone who attempts to harm you while I'm nearby will be made to suffer." It's a nice little combo.

Though... given that Wesley is male, could we make him a Butler?

Yep. The Major Upgrades you choose, along with the Unique Trait, have really boosted him into a combat roll.

Though... given that Wesley is male, could we make him a Butler?

Nope. Dice rolled Male and Maid. I will abide by the will of the dice. I do have plans to address this. Nothing dramatic or silly. He just prefers to wear the maid outfit.

And "within 50 feet of Mister Scrooge" could be on the other side of a locked door or other openable-from-the-other-side barrier.

Or smuggle maid in, have him Grab whatever needs to be yoinked and then teleport home.

But our knee-breaking femboy-maid.
Don't take the maid outfit from him, he looks so cute in it!

and to think we feared the scrooge+blitzen stewardship combo
so uh, you know how scrooge has 30 stewardship, and gets +25 to all stats on christmas? and now we have a hero who can copy that? now that sounds like the real Christmas miracle
