Operation Weihnachtswunder (A CK2 Style Quest to Save Christmas!)

Although I understand that you don't want to give things away... a little context as to what we're voting for would be appreciated. Even if it might take some effort to divorce the reasoning from the effects.

Secondly... was that ordering of the first four intentional for a sing song rhyming scheme?

Fair enough. They're things Wesley has seen. Before Scrooge became Santa.

And the choices are from a counting game in England. Except for the Spy part. That's from the 1974 book Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.

Aww. Nya being difficult. He's pretty fun usually. Must have been a bad day. No opinion on the vote, just a bit too abstract for me to make good guesses. :p

In hindsight it would've been fun to have the "normal person" option win and give the man the name "Scott Calvin". Just how much Christmas-related media can this quest hold?

[X] Tinker
[X] Tailor
[X] Soldier
[X] Spy

Hmm, amusing thought:

In-universe, it is possible that some of the more recent media trends to depict Lovecraftian Horrors in lighter, sillier, and kinder fashions may be a deliberate weaponization of belief-based magical effects to alter some of their behavior.

Of course, it can also just be that human understanding has advanced a lot in the intervening years, and things that were once horrifyingly incomprehensible are now much more commonly understood and grasped. In the Victorian era, the idea of harnessing the power of the sun, or flying through space, or altering your body to be no longer fully human were far out there and scary. These days humanity is steadily progressing towards achieving all three.

"Thank you for coming, sirs. I know you have some questions about me. And why I haunted your toy shop."

For Wesley, this meant getting to know him over a cup of tea.

"Haunted? Wesley, you've been nothing but helpful since we felt your presence." You say, as you sipped your Earl Grey tea. "It was about what, twenty or so years ago?"

"Close enough." Jacob Marley responds, as he takes a Yorkshire Tea for himself. "And this is excellent tea!"

Wesley gives a bright smile in acknowledgement of the praise. "Thank you, sir! I've only had physical form for a few days, so I was a bit nervous. It has taken some getting used to."

That makes sense, considering he only gained it when the Workshop Seed activated. But he had been around for some time before.

You had felt a helpful presence within your Toy Shop. Being someone steeped in the paranormal, you knew the signs It wasn't anything major. Mainly just dusty shelves being cleaned without any employees being around, or a shelf being restocked during the night. In fact, thinking back on it, the most blatant display of supernatural ability was a toy a child wanted just so happened to be found right next to her, like it had been placed there.

While random spirits do come and go, very rarely are they as helpful as this one. Especially ones that tied themselves to physical locations they found. And he wasn't causing any problems that you could see. The only major thing of note was that he seemed to like his privacy and was not interested in bowls of milk. So you saw no problems letting him stay.
