It Belongs to a Museum

I'm definitely thinking either the Leviathan or the Hulk.
Something potentially seaworthy for our museum, even if we have to reanimate the whole thing.
The island is interesting but frustratingly immobile, unless we get some MASSIVE favors from the Dark Elves I doubt we're turning an island into a ship, and we REALLY want a mobile base if we can get it.
Remember in Divided Loyalties when we went off with Belegar and had to leave all our stuff behind?
Yeah.

Bespoke or island i think.
I want the museum to be HUGE, and no matter how big the ship is, it is still very small for my ambitions.
Same for the Leviathan, interesting, fun, but not really up speck.

For Bespoke, several separate buildings, eventually, but start with somekind of Egyptian/Nehekharan style palace, possibly a pyramid eventually to loom behind it.
For island, not sure, it is built directly into the volcano, but i'd assume there is exterrior construction that could work with Egyptian theme into it.

Leaning towards Hulk and Bespoke, mainly because Leviathan seems like a worse Hulk and everything else looks like a worse Bespoke. The Ziggurat would have too much lizard-theming and island would only be at best slightly more convenient for foreign visitors.

Lahzarus, Lahzutekh, and Sutekh are, in order, my preferred choices for names. I'd also like something like Neferhotep for the Nefereta connection.

For the lair, I kind of want the practical ziggurat. It's already built, it has lots of space, and it's in the middle of the city.

The island is pretty cool too, however.

The Vampire looks annoyed. "Ren-tbb curse on a Lizard Pyramid. It will be temporary. Answer the question."

I believe that "Ren" is one of the nine parts of the soul in ancient Egyptian beliefs, specifically the "True Name" of the soul. An identity curse indeed.

Why does everyone say mobility is such a big plus...
Real landmarks make it so that the journey becomes one of choice! Just showing up places makes the visit of the museum a thing of wim, its kinda just there, like a circus! Mean while an impressive building with ready made halls where the architecture itself is a sight to behold is what is needed if we ever want this to be a greater glory in it self. Also being on traveling foot makes it harder for us to properly preserve the exhibitions against the environment as the environment changes. While if we have something static we can set the lighting correct, control or at least expect the humidity. And a thing for static locals is also that it makes storage easier and also makes it so that hiring adventurers easier as they have a place to come back to with their loot. All of the place are aesthetically awesome tho!

I am completely fine with any of those options winning, but I won't be voting for any of them.

Voting to name a character after yourself feels like a very Settra move, and I have like at most two or three titles to my name, not the hundred neccesary for an ego that size.
Pahtsekhen. Final Embrace.
Interestingly, works as another name for Pakhet "she who scratches". On who's tomb we read:

O You of the dawn who wake and sleep,
O You who are in limpness, dwelling aforetime in Nedit,
I have appeared as Pakhet the Great,
whose eyes are keen and whose claws are sharp,
the lioness who sees and catches by night..

Throwing in my suggestion for the name boat vote:
[] Lazharekh

Laz from the royal naming scheme of the Third Dynasty
Ha (𓉔 𓄿 𓂻) = To descend, to enter, to travel by boat - the last one is quite fitting, I think.
Rekh - lots of appropriate meanings here.
[1] (𓂋 𓐍 𓏜) = To know, to understand, to be wise
[2] (𓂋 𓐍 𓏛 𓏪) = Knowledge, science
[3] (𓂋 𓐍 𓀭) = God of Knowledge

"What happened to you, dear boy?" you can't stop yourself from asking.

The Vampire looks annoyed. "Ren-tbb curse on a Lizard Pyramid. It will be temporary. Answer the question."

Identity-shatter. So the rest of him is still there, it's just not... out right now. Okay. That can be worked with. "Apart from visiting an old friend, I was looking for a place I could find and teach students in in relative peace. I've been living in the former Elven lands, but some of my students ended up with unfortunate reputations being attached to them by the unkind. I was hoping somewhere shaped by yourself would be more understanding towards that sort of thing."
I can't shake the feeling, that our hero reminds me of Peter O'Toole in the way he is speaking and behaving.

Which is a good thing by the way. :V

[ ] [PLACE] Island

Outside of volcano base and outside people coming to visit.

I do feel like using Luthor Harkon's first stronghold as the museum to Luthor Harkon's greatness kind of makes sense anyways.

[X] [PLACE] Ziggurat
[X] [PLACE] Leviathan

I love the idea of the building that houses the museum doubling as an exhibit.

Ok so for island besides the amazing setting of a volcano lair it does have a lot of advantages. For one space, with our personal ambition to not only build a museum but teach we will have plenty of room to teach and experiment, even the more dangerous research or teachings. Second is accessibility. The locations in Awakening are going to be under much tighter control and oversight of the Pirate King limiting who will come to it. And although a mobile base sounds fun its going to limit our ability for people to visit as they are going to have to find out where we are. And as we are trying to build a museum and educate people being harder to find and access is a negative.

Meanwhile the island is still going to be reasonably assessable from Awakening but also have enough separation to be much more assessable to the outside world.

And if we do want to go out and visit some place personally we still can, we will have our own port with the island and should be able to procure a ship to travel with at our leisure.

So minor lore correction, the Bloody Reaver was Noctilus' castle back in Sylvania that he teleported to the Galleon's Graveyard and converted into a giant pirate ship. So it shouldn't be amongst the list of ships the Luthor is mentioning.

Bloody Reaver doesn't sound like the name of a castle. It seemed plausible to me that the ship that he plonked his castle onto might have been called the Bloody Reaver instead. That makes for a more interesting dynamic than 'he just made it from scratch out of driftwood around his castle', especially when you speculate whether the previous captain of the ship was aware that this was going to happen, and it gives Luthor Harkon more reason to be peeved at this usurper.

It also gives an explanation for where Noctilis got Depth Guard from.

Entirely fair, honestly I just assumed he renamed the Castle like how he renamed himself.

though with the exception of a few places where they're being used for menial labour, most of the dead seem largely independent and aware, at least as much so as an average Nehekharan merchant or tradesmen. Those with flesh are surprisingly well-preserved, having seemingly undergone a rudimentary form of mummification from long exposure to salt and sun, while those of bone are at least as well-maintained as a lesser Prince's Tomb Guard. The spirits are more of a mystery, as among the simple souls of not-quite-departed pirates, there are beings very much like a Wraith but seemingly universally female, and others clad entirely in metal armour of a kind you'd previously only seen in Antoch.
Interesting baselines for comparison.

dislocates their souls
Dislocate could suggest this is a stun rather than fatal, in the same way that having a shoulder dislocated is more survivable than having it ripped off.
Although even if so it might be a permanent-until-reversed stun and thus fatal in the long term.

You sit there, and with a ceasing of conscious effort, you stop all the little movements that simulate a living person. You stop moving, you stop breathing, you stop blinking, you deactivate your body
Someone took 'you are now breathing manually' as a challenge.

Who or what was Ren-tbb and do we know how to identity-shatter people ourselves?

Lamasheptra, Lahmizzar, Lahmizzash, Lakhashar, and Lahkashaz
Could we get away with Larry?

Favour either the Ziggurat or Bespoke. The island is just asking to be raided and the others sound like inconvenient gimmicks.
