It Belongs to a Museum

I still want to be the grumpy old man if the Tutor wins but an old man who is grumpy until either his Family or teaching/sharing his knowledge comes up.

He's also like the only one I can see 100 percent opening up a gift shop maybe even inventing the concept of gift shops and it's really funny so I want it

I liked the Imprudent Tutor idea when it first came up, but after reading the full description, this guy gives me bad vibes. I think it's the way that he just dodges all responsibility for his actions, even in his own head. He knows what he did was wrong, but he makes excuses for it anyway.

I love the Student because the realization that all their endless research just kinda sucked for their actual task is very potent stuff to build a character upon. Having the museum only indirectly fit their (initial) goal, but having their treacherously useless skills match perfectly, also is a fun dynamic.
Lutr the Wholesome is totally trying get this sad old man to abbandon his unreachable goal and pick up a more fulfilling duty instead. This is the Pirate-Mummy-Curator Stardew Valley option.

I am also voting for the Last because he's aimed at the Old World and that's where all the interesting history I am already invested in is. His goal of trying to tease our juicy divine lore is also the most immediately fun to me.

Does Preservation have parity with the other Winds of Magic and Dwarf Runelore?

Pretty sure it's the only magic currently offering eternal life without some seriously nasty drawbacks or outright evil requirements. So it's got that going for it.

The next runners up would probably be...

Vampirism, which works but... you know... turns you into a vampire with the associated random medley of weaknesses and new needs.

"Normal" necromancy can turn you into a Lich, which has all the same drawbacks in terms of actual quality of life that you'd expect from being skeleton and also probably some mental deterioration from the dark magic.

Khaine worship is maybe an option, but that one pretty much requires starting as a dark elf and then you have to get together a cauldron's worth of blood, and even after all the hassle it seems entirely dependent on the good will of an extremely sketchy and unreliable god to get the "Restored to the flower of youth" result as opposed to "Nothing happens" or "You drown in a bowl of boiling blood".

So in comparison, "I can teach you to live forever but it'll take long enough that you'll be doing it as an old man" is fairly attractive.

We could release a collection of "Famous Dark Magicians of Antiquity (My dear students)" figurines.
Considering that we have seen most of them personally, this is probably one of the few ways people can find out the real appearance of most of them.
For Nagash, we can either create two figures at once before and after turning into the undead. Or make Nagash a matryoshka doll where Nagash skeleton sits inside Nagash man.

[X] Imprudent Tutor

I was denied an elf, and I held my tongue

I was denied a mummy princess, and I held my tongue

I will not be denied a third time, I shall get my cool vampire niece!

I feel that selling a figurine of our dear niece would be rather tacky.
We could pick up painting as a hobby and make a series of paintings of her though.
Our Vampire exhibit will be less than subtle in its Lahmian bias.

Tutor of course is great and has Araby knowledge but is the frontrunner so I'm not voting for him (at least not yet)

Who says we stop at ONE Vampire exhibit, we shall have them all!!! Blood Knights, Von Carsteins, Vampire Coasts, Barrow Legion, and most important of all the Lahmians all entered around OUR amazing niece!! (And we will mention she's our niece in like every other sentence)

One thing I also like about Impudent Tutor is that he seems like the option most open to learning things just to learn them, even if it is outside his goals/interests.

Like, out of all these characters, Tutor seems like the one most likely to make an hour-long video essay detailing the difference in depictions of Bastillodon Mating Rituals in plagues from Pahuax compared to ones from Quetza.
