It Belongs to a Museum

Fun Uncle who teaches too much. Maximum funny shenanigans, seems like the least political option. Really wants to teach - would be just as happy running a school as a museum.

No one says we can't attach Unca Bones School of (Forbidden) Lore to the museum, that way we get the best assistants and since he's just so open with who he teaches we might even get mages from more reputable corners of the world showing up. You could imagine some adventurous Death or Light Mage learning that there is a genuine Nehekaran priest giving lessons on more than just necromancy and seeing what knowledge they can bring back to the Colleges. I don't think Luthor would give a damn who we teach as long as he gets his stuff and answers.

I read it as "this asshole killed my brother, so I helped arrange for his death, and his son's death and the rise of Nagash to power all to stick it to him. Now I'm going to ensure everyone knows how much he fucked up to stick it to his immortal soul in the afterlife".

If I'm reading it correctly, the History Maker was the firstborn son of Rakaph III and thus became a Lich Priest and was unable to inherit when his father died. His probably step mother was briefly regent for his younger probably half-brother until she was pressured into stepping aside for Khetep the evil vizier who immediately poisoned the kid and usurped the throne. Khetep's firstborn son was Nagash.

History Maker's entire motivation is to fuck with the legacy of Khetep by making sure as many people as possible know how awful his son Nagash was, to avenge his father and younger brother. The backstory does make clear that he never openly moved against Nagash, he even seemed to be some kind of friendly with him at least on the surface, but he seems to be doing that more out of a "the worse this guy is, the better the previous dynasty looks in comparison, so sure I'll help him burn down that orphanage and then make sure everyone knows how much he enjoyed it" type idea.

Is it possible to call this the only case when cooperation with Nagash was mutually beneficial and in which both sides were satisfied with each other?

[X] History-Maker of Nagash

I want preservation!!!! And also reminding people Nagash sucks big time is always a plus!!!

Bhagar I don't think I mind winning because I like the story and character. I just don't know how I feel for my museum quest and would like the more scholarly types and the knowledge doesn't really interest me as much as some others besides animal handling

[X] Imprudent Tutor

Tragic Old man! Tragic Old Man!!! Like we may have done soooome evil things but like We just want to see our precious niece. I think this is my go to vote right now, Doting Uncle but Tragic Old Man who loves sharing knowledge!!! It's perfect!!!! I want to steal and Engine of the God so we can show our Niece our museum proudly.
We also gives reason to piss of Nagash too as I doubt we like him.

In the lands that the Vulture Lord of Zandri had conquered, the locals disregarded your advice about proper capstones for a monument and went with a bell instead, and in the end, you feel like they definitely should have taken your advice instead of that of the other guy.

I feel like this is a reference to some obscure bit of lore and not knowing what it is irks me. Anyone know anything or am I looking too far into things.

If Unca Bones still likes Neferata he has every reason to hate Nagash, who would use her as a puppet, as he would for all other vampires.
"Are the cute kids fighting among themselves again? Well, the main thing is to remember that we are one family!"
I mean, judging by the level of denial that Grandpa Lich feels about the actions of other students, it won't be difficult for him to justify such a small thing as manipulation.

[X] Survivor of Bhagar
Somebody with a real axe to grind.

[X] Imprudent Tutor
Somebody with an a rather misguided sense of the danger of knowledge.

[X] Legionary of Setep
Somebody who just wants to see somebody get something done.

Nagash is significantly older than the Imprudent Tutor and kind of a dick to everyone, Neferata included. I highly doubt he'd have anything positive to say or feel about Nagash.

Tylos which became Skavenblight. The bell killed most people and turned the survivors into rat-men.

Nope, Nagash would be older than him, he'd be the creep trying to use his magical power to turn Neferata and her little brother Ushoran into puppets.

The origin of the Skaven is in the city of Tylos, where they built a giant tower which was to be topped with a great bell. When it came time to actually place the bell, they couldn't get it up there, and there was much lamentation until a Mysterious Hooded Figure arrived and offered to install the bell if they'd let him engrave it with devotions to his Mysterious Foreign God. They agreed, but when they rang the completed bell, on the thirteenth toll, the skies darkened, warpstone rained down over the region, and Skaven appeared to eat everyone.

It seems that if Tylos had gone with this guy's suggestion for a shiny capstone instead of a bell, things probably would have gone much better.

Edit - And ninja'd, but I'll leave this here anyway.

This is really, really hard. Also curse the fact that war statuary never seems to coalign with god-poking or immortality-improving.
But I never said I wanted to play nice and be a proper hero though. Student of Immortality has that nice selfish thought of keeping his final form to himself and flexing on Settra with it, which I like. Imprudent tutor is a walking disaster, but also probably the one most likely to set up a construct fighting ring so that people can see how they move and clash and welp the Destroyer is on the loose now with Harkon in hot pursuit. The Hunter of the Cult of Blood seeks to throw down with the divine, which means he is much more likely to threaten Stromfels with rock-stuffing.

The Last Firstborn is too noble, I came to the VC to be dubious.

I'm voting for the History-Maker as well because my God the amount of spite in this man could power a Karak.

She sits in her reliquary in the Temple of Asaph, still and lifeless, rendered as immune to Nagash's sorcery as she had been to the blood of the Vampire. She rises only at the call of the Gods to lead Lybaras' undying legions into battle, and upon her inevitable victory she returns to her immobility as though she had never risen at all. Every part of the Khalida that your brother had married was burned away by snake venom, leaving only a tool of the Gods, left to gather dust until needed and then discarded again immediately afterwards.

Motivation: Wants to learn more about the Gods, Necromancy, and Vampirism, in the hopes of eventually rescuing Khalida.
Knowledge: Magic - Light (Minutiae), Vampires (Detailed), Cults (Surface), Daemons (Surface)
Hmm...
[ ] The Last Firstborn

Motivation: Wants to revive the proper worship of the Gods of Nehekhara, in the hopes of restoring a golden age that was only ever glimpsed.
Knowledge: Nehekharan Pantheon (Minutiae), Architecture (Detailed), Religion (Detailed), Old World (Surface)
Hmm.

I wonder. Maybe the reason Khalida is so lifeless and inactive is... because the Gods are lifeless? Boney has frequently said "Put an asterisk by the sentence of 'the Gods of Nehekhara are dead' and 'you know what else is dead in Nehekhara? the people'".

Maybe killing Nehekharans gods made them more... automatic? Less animated or willful? Perhaps they now only respond in more limited ways, or they are more bound to the land and their temples, unable to venture past it, or only respond to the worship or beliefs or thoughts of the Undead Nehekharans. Or something.

And maybe Khalida is an unfortunate glitch, what happens when you combine an Undead Nehekharan with the Undead Nehekhara Gods.

Or maybe it's was just an unfortunate interaction with the Elixir of Life combined with the pouring in of deific energies; maybe it's ultimately Neferata's fault that she's like that. Some form of even-more-static deific avatar? From the combination of materialistic physical immortality, with the pouring-in of aetheric divine energies, somehow resulting in an unfortunate combination?

Or maybe something odder is going on; maybe Khalida is more active in the aethyr, in the dreamworld, than she is in real life? Maybe her brother-in-law just isn't able to see that dreaming or aethyric part of her-- well, in part anyway; he has Windsight, and he's a Liche Priest... but maybe he doesn't know enough to understand what he's looking at, or isn't able to look in the right places? His perspective and knowledge of magic or the aethyr might be limited or lacking. Hence his interest in all the many and varied different magics and the secrets of the gods!
