long term influence gain, we save grunts and lower rankers who are in combat, they will eventually be promoted and we will have officers and future nobles under our debt, especially if they did something impressive to merit rapid promotion to high command.

Basically thinking long term over short term. I like that.

The support psykers are explicitly not that. You can't just say: "well actually, the low prestige isn't actually a downside, because we'll get more later"
It's just blatantly misleading what these options actually mean.

besides that, where do you think the Imperium recruits the vast majority of it's high command from? The grunts, or the myriad of noble houses that dot the Imperium?

which part where little prestige or renown contradicts future high level contacts? and promotions are a thing

Prestige is how well known and regarded you are, which simply translates into influence and contacts with the movers and shakers of the Imperium. You claim that a support role will garner contacts with grunts who'll get promoted in the future. Promotions are not the typical way someone gains rank in the Imperium. Most of these high level posts are occupied by people who've went through the Schola Progenium, or from their own families. Your average imperial guardsmen aren't trained in a way that would allow them the promotions you envision.

It's like assuming a private in the U.S military could reach the rank of General if they were "good enough" while completely ignoring the fact that these people have an associated education that allows them to reach that rank, and political connections to boot. Point is, the guardsmen we'll be fighting with will remain grunts throughout their whole careers, and if they're lucky, they might given a plot of land somewhere so they can retire. That's it.

I didn't talk about this earlier, but I feel awful about the Ratling who made the food in the current update.

The poor thing has, at best, probably endured a lot of prejudice for most of her life and has probably had a shitty said life as an Abhuman. So for her to get a job aboard a ship in space must have been a dream come true.

Only for that to turn into the worst day of her life when the Lord General put a hole between her boss' eyes, other than the fuckhuge guilt and shame that comes with that, she's lost her job and is going back to her likely shitty life.

Guy should have not brought her there out in the open. I very much agree that she had shitty day... would be funny if Occam hired her to basically be a Head Cheff in his school. To be real, I think Abhumans should have their own psykers but they are either dull in psyker aspect or other traits very much limit the chances of them being psykers.

Unless Mayto allows it, it's likely Occam will never see her again.

Patience my friends. Patience. ;)

Adding the frontline vote, both because it does not have quicksilver, and because it may synergize with our more punch-wizardly approach.
