While I still think that missing out on our last chance to test the waters on an actual tourney before the first big one in Whiteharbor is a mistake, I'll approval vote another plan.

[X] Plan Obligations, Opportunities and Organized Violence
[X] Plan Strong Allies

gonna consolidate on the plans that get us in the tourney

[X] Plan Obligations, Opportunities and Organized Violence

Honestly, I don't see the point of speaking with Isembard Arryn besides the fact that he summoned us... I would rather talk with Yorbert Royce and deal with Ser Arnold spawn ASAP...

And about training with Ser Steffon, we will have him around for the rest of the progress (which should be around 12 turns more or so) so we will have plenty of opportunities to train and speak with him... Besides that I truly think that the Water Dancer is a very unique and useful experience, and we are probably going to increase our prowess significantly more by facing against a completely foreign fighting style than against another Westerosi Trained knight (which will hopefully push us for the next rank of prowess in time for the White Harbour tournament).

Okay so if you do the Tourney, you'll have options to compete in just a few jousts or do the whole thing. Unless you do the whole Tourney as a mystery knight and don't reveal yourself, that will count as attending the tourney for Lord Grafton since from his prespective you will only be gone for part of the event.

Given this I really think we should do the tourney and skip the feast, since it sounds at least doing a few jousts and then attending the rest of the tourney meets our obligation to our host. It also sounds like going farther and revealing ourselves might do that too. The only fail condition sounds like it would be if we got far enough that it looks like we barely attended the tourney, but not far enough we could reveal ourselves. Or if we reveal ourselves and they take offense. But even in that case it seems like that might be a risk worth taking?

So attending the feast might be necessary if we intend to go deep in the tournament but not reveal ourselves, but I have a hard time seeing that as being worth the opportunity cost of taking the action.

Feasting should also relieve stress, depending on how closely we're hewing to Crusader Kings mechanics.

True. But if we think we're in need of stress relief I'd rather talk to Alicent or relax (music) or something.

The only real reason I see for feasting would be that maybe we ought to see what feasts do, and the feast is clearly a much bigger deal here than the tourney. But I kind of would consider that secondary to taking an action to progress the Alicent romance or study or train harder or anything else related to one of our long term goals. We're always tight on actions and feasting feels like throwing one away.

Honestly the Feast might be the best action out of all of them, since it completes one of our Private Goals of making more friends, which the description hinted at that feasts would help, and I don't think I need to explain the benefits of having more friends.

It also appeases our host, may give us the chance to make the Vale Lords that were on Arnold's side hate us less, and may hypothetically reduce our stress (The last one is only conjecture tho)

Is that one of our goals? It's not on our character sheet. I agree it's a good general thing to do, but it's not becoming a knight or finding love.

I think we can pick up friends naturally with repeated actions with the same characters. And this seems better since I'd prefer to make friends with people we choose after deliberately spending actions on people like Gwayne or Rhea rather than just making friends with [random vale knight] we met at the feast. Or worse, just meeting ser random vale lord and then having to spend actions making friends with them.

It's one of the goals of the Royal Progress, called "Private Goals" if I remember correctly, and we chose it along with Training Publicly and other stuff.

And some of our friends could come us with back to King's Landing like Steffon is (Tho he's not quite our friend yet) if they're not heirs or lords, also even if we don't become friends with people at the feast, them thinking of us fondly could go a long way.

I see what you're saying tho and we should make time for Alicent and other things soon, but other actions just kinda take precedent right now.

As it happens, not one of the extant plans makes time for Alicent, and I think that's a shame.

See, we're always saying we should make time to do X soon, because usually we're more divided on the priority rather than the direction. I think this is one of the times we can fit something else in, and we should take advantage of it.

The going to the tournament covers both our host obligation and doing something to progress our knighthood ambitions and talking to Royce or Arryn covers at least one of what they want (and none of the votes are for both), so this seems like an ideal time to make time for something else. Or we could double down on knighthood by training and tourney-ing. But unless we are socially obligated to attend the feast (which I don't think we are), this seems like a waste.

Putting these forward as other alternatives.

Yeah approval voting just in case, because the leading plan is... suboptimal.
