Omake: Perhaps For Your Best Friend, Or Maybe Justice (Pt 1) New
Heck with it. This might as well happen. I'm VERY sure this isn't how ANY of this works and it won't get me a bounty but man alive I need these disasters to meet.

Perhaps For Your Best Friend, Or Maybe Justice (Pt 1)
5/31 Monday

Torioi Mei walked the streets of Suita at night, in a group with her supposed fiance, Kaneko Ichigo, and several of her uncomplicated relationships complicated by circumstances-- in this case specifically, GUMI, and Kisaragi Rei. After the day they'd had, it'd be good to get to Ibaraki, a bath, and likely bed.

The plots of growing plants stretched before them, and so did the small talk, bouncing from the typical asking over academics, the latest news from other universities, rumors, the hope that they'll all get the place constructed soon, once a foundation that could keep the Site underneath the place from overtaking the house itself-- no mean feat.

Of course, no conversation was complete without-- Oi. Oi, can't you feel that?

Mei paused, her line halfway drowning in Asura-chan's early warning. But then, now she mentioned it-- Yes. Yes, she did. Like something dead. Or something dying. Or something dying to be dead. Or dying for other things to be dead. "-- You feel that?"

Ichigo stopped, sniffed the air. "That-- What in the world is--"

The Void appeared under his feet, and swallowed him whole.

Already done with this shit, but seeing no other way to keep her promises, Mei shrugged at GUMI and Rei, sighed, and dove in right after him.

2/28/2080-- 1300
Somewhere in Saitama Prefecture
Mei wasn't sure how long she'd been falling, just that she'd been following Ichigo's trail as they went. For a long time, together, they had been falling. She'd caught up, and vaguely wondered why she hadn't started dissolving, or at least burning with shadowy smoke like Ichigo was. She chalked it up to her iron soul and Asura-chan's help.

Or maybe already being a being of death.

Regardless, the two of them stopped falling. Ichigo fell through first, to a location Mei could barely see, and then-- the world opened up underneath her.

"Ha! I told you there were more where he came from." This from a fellow whose name, Mei was sure, had something to do with skulls. Lots of skulls. It was a whole motif. No, scratch that, it was his entire theme.

"She doesn't look like much. Not even 150cm? Are you sure this is one of the Void's most feared warriors? Maybe you should throw her back." This from-- From a mage. Of some power. Pretty, in a bone-chilling way. From the way she handled herself, she was fairly confident she could eliminate everyone in this room. Given the bodies, it was likely she already had.

Mei looked to her feet, to discover she had been summoned to a binding circle. Interesting, but not the first time she'd been put into a horrible situation with curses on top.

"You're welcome to test her yourself, if you like, though I don't think it'd be very fair while she's still trapped in the circle."

The area around her was...

Well. Aside from the bodies, three of whom were at her feet, and at least three more waiting, it looked like it used to be a warehouse for freight rail. "Wow. You two really know how to pick the classics, huh?" She said, taking note of the fact that it was mostly open to escape from, and well-lit from the outside by daylight. "Why, I bet I've seen this exact warehouse... Nnnn. How many times, now? And I'm not even your first today! I'm kinda hurt."

"I take it back, she's hilarious, keep her."

Skull Man looked over at his counterpart. Even through the helmet, Mei could tell it was a gaze that could melt steel.

Nice to know we're still batting 1.000 when it comes to dangerous women. Ah, Asura-chan was awake.

"Getting on with it-- Shade, name yourself."

"AMAZING! You summoned someone without even knowing their name?" Mei replied, with a laugh. Her eyes looked over the binding circle. One weak point in particular stood out, a place where a crack in the foundation provided a slight change of elevation. Not much, but enough. "No wonder you've got binding circles like this."

"... Shade. You will name yourself, or I will banish you into the Void whence you came."

"I should be so lucky. My name is Iron Heart." Immediately, Mei felt the bindings try to take effect, settle over her previous curses, and found they fit loosely, at best. This, then, the advantage of a use-name. Handy. The chains were mild. She could already feel her hand readying to break and slip them.

"You will supply me your power."

"What do you want me to do, then?"

"About that, 'Ironheart'. Your mission is to seek and relay the position of this Rider and these two Magical Girls, as often as you can..."

"Ah. You want me to be your detective. I see." Mei pocketed the photos. "I'll play your game. Incidentally..."

"Hm?"

"You haven't happened to see a young man around here, would you? Hair tips dyed black, tan skin, kinda long face, amber eyes, wears a bomber jacket with jeans like he's some kind of American?"

Skull Man and Killer Queen glanced at each other in a way that indicated they had, though their shaking heads tried to loudly proclaim that they hadn't.

"Cool. I'll look into your enemies, then." With that, Mei walked out of the binding circle before Skull Man dismissed it and went on her way. She'd have to see if she could call some authorities on them later, but to do that, she needed not to die first-- and hopefully, make some connections that wouldn't stab her in the back once she'd outlived her use. More than that, she needed to find Ichigo. Together, there wasn't a lot they couldn't do. As for Skull Man's method of control, well.

She'd burn those flags when she needed to.

As she exited the warehouse, however, she was certain of one thing, as she watched the strange air traffic and stranger farming machines, she paused to take note of the cold sun on her face. "... been falling for hours, huh? Or I guess... If this is Kansai, that's some fancy new projects. But the skyline doesn't look right... -- no, I recognize some of those, I think... Is this... Tokyo? If it is..."

She whipped out her cell phone, found that it wasn't interfacing with the local cellular network at all, and grumbled. "Okay, new plan. Find where we are, find what's different. Then hunt."

As for my vote, if we're concentrating on using Thieves' Guild Stuff, maybe we'd better start picking up the old us.

[X] Plan Leverage Thieves Guild

"But doesn't that mean that there's a part of the parade where all the floats just… stop?"

"Correct, Rei- there's a computer system controlling all the parade floats that can lock all the metal skeletons in place. It's in Showtime's control, but the government also has a metaphorical hand in it."
Well THAT seems like a perfect time for some attack to be launched, and a point of failure if the computer system gets hacked...

As far as the level up vote goes, my personal opinion is increasing Physical and going for either Spirit Commune or Trigger Void Burst.

Oh! These are your characters from your quest, TomoFlake, right? Cool! Can't make this canon for reasons, but I'll give you the rewards for taking the time to sit down and write this out. +50 EXP, +10 EP.
Oh yeah I absolutely wasn't expecting it to be canon. There's reasons on my side it wouldn't work either.

But those two getting on like a--- hm

Like a poorly oiled gearing

Would be intensely interesting to watch.

Reread your- THREE!?!?- fics and... man I don't know how to feel about my clear insert here causing a super boss to drop in a MMO.
I love the idea, and feel like I would, but I've also never actually jumped into a full MMO before so I don't know if it's on brand- well I guess it would be for that alter of me hehe.

Also this has inspired me with an idea. If all four elemental runes have the ability to either tame of purify VOID- ah wait no their Glyphs not Runes- but still. If those Glyphs can do that, then what's stopping us from weaponing it in a rail cannon?
Ichigo stopped, sniffed the air. "That-- What in the world is--"
I had no idea what as happening until I read that name- I am intrigued in this quest now

Also
[X] Plan Communion of Spirits
I want to choose this, because well... I have a sneaking suspicion that this is required to unlock the ability lend our spirits to allies.
And I am not looking at any design document I swear

Never touched an MMO either. I made your counterpart accidentally create a Superboss because of your love of analyzation. Honestly anyone with a creative mind and whats basically a magic system that lets you basically do anything as long as you have the right skills, glyphs and words, would basically try everything and see just how far you could push the system. If its any consolation, everyone lived and nobody found out it was alter you that caused it(Re-Alight protect one another). Plus, you aren't the only player that had the same thought process, if you had waited about a week, somebody in the Russian Server was basically going to create a Gundramon and Metal Gear Exodus fusion. Plus It was a slight jab at how your out of box thinking helped us poke something WAY earlier than we should have.

I thank you for the reassurances, but I can't help but chuckle at the idea of everyone in Re-Alight dragging alter me and locking me in a room because me, true Realm, kinda... would want to apologize profusely for it... depending on if I was scared or not to do it.

Also bloody fair mate, and if I have my way here it'll happen again.

Kermie this is a promise-

Huh, it seems we may have a tie coming around if no more votes are made, hers hoping physical and Sprit Commune wins. Any who, Im going to add something here since I have a slight problem. I still wonder if I should have made something for Halloween, but I'm kind of swamped with work at the moment and just barely made this in my free time. Sooooo, time to validate Kermies patch notes again, don't worry its only one this time.

Perhaps for Love or Maybe Justice: Pokemon Void Version

Hello and welcome to wonderful and mystical world of Pokémon! My name is Professor Grimshaw, or Prof. Grim for short. Some people call me a Pokémon Professor, although nowhere near as famous As Samuel Oak, mind you. My field of study lies in the different ways a Pokémon species evolves, alternative evolution methods. Most commonly known as split-evolutions, many species of Pokémon have different evolution paths depending on a myriad of factors like Gender, habitats or even item usage. Species like the Scyther line, the Ralts line or Burmy line are a few examples of split-evolutions. But enough about me, what about you? Before we begin this incredible adventure, why don't you tell me about yourself?

Firstly, and I know its kind of cliché, but we need to ask anyway. Are you a boy, a girl or something else? Although you can feel free to call yourself genderfluid as well.

Gender:

{} Boy

{*} Girl

{}Non-binary

{}Gender Fluid

Ah I see, you're a girl. Now how old are you?

Age:

{} 10 years old

{} 16-19 years old

{*} 20-24 years old

Oh! I'm sorry for the inconvenience young miss! My eyesight isn't as it used to be, to many Flashes from startled Pokémon in my youth. Ah the wonders of Pokémon, it's truly never too late to start your journey. Speaking of which, we need to know where your from! Please, tell me your home region and city, please.

Home Region:

{*} Kanto: You home region is Kanto. The Kanto region features a variety of towns and cities. From the large, urban Saffron City to the quiet, quaint town of Pallet. This region neighbors the Johto region, separated by the infamous Silver Mountain Range, which is home to a variety of powerful and Dangerous Pokémon.
(This Region is home to perhaps a weaker selection of Pokémon, but thanks to its close relations with Johto, plenty Johtonian mons can be found in Kanto and Vice Versa, you may even find some Hoehn Pokémon if your lucky enough!)

{} Sinnoh: A region of tradition and history, Sinnoh is one of the oldest Regions around. Although some people may call it old fashion, many of the worlds Strongest and Brightest call Sinnoh their home. Notable figures of this region include Prof. Rowan, the Ex-Champion Cynthia and in the annals of it's history, the Champion of Hisui!
(Sinnoh is a place of tradition, but climate change has not been kind to some of the Pokémon that make this place home. Hisuian mon's are believed to be extinct, fire types are harder to find each day outside of the Grand Underground and while unknown to the common people, the influence of the Creation Trio has led to some…Interesting side effects. But there has been rumors of trade with the floating islands of Alola and even foreign trade and goods from the Orre region. Who knows? Maybe you'll find rare Pokémon, goods, and adventures if you come here.)

{} Paldea: Hola amigos y bienvenidos a Paldea! Ahem, The Paldea Region is home to a wide variety of cultures, spices, and Pokémon. This region is famous for its twin Academies Naranja and Uva and it's even more infamous Area Zero. This region was slightly isolationist due to some in region incidents, but from what we know they seemed to have cleared up. Not only that, but it also seems Kalos and Galar has begun a greater series of trades between the tree regions. But a lack of opposition has led this region become a tantalizing target for less than good hearted folk, hiding in the shadows.
(Paldea is home to a quite staggering amount of Pokémon and to the infamous Terastallation phenomenon. Due to an actual lack of "Evil" teams and plenty of Champion level trainers, it was mostly safe from harm. Until now. Theres rumor's of a new team running around, one that is FAR more dangerous than even some of the old villain teams like Rocket, or Galactic. Need to pick a New Enemy in Current time to pick this)

Well isn't that a coincidence, I just so happen to be here as well! So we have a gender, an age, and a place. Now we need a date! Tell me when did you start your journey?

Current Time:

{} Past (Setting the Stage) : You will start in the past , around a decade before the Legendary Trainer Red becomes a household name in Kanto. This era is mostly peaceful, with only the occasional rumor of a "Team" running around. Although you may find it a bit stifling, since a lot of gimmicks like mega evolution are not yet publicly available outside of regions like Kalos, or even the common knowledge of the Fairy Type, its mostly smooth sailing as there isn't any real threats. (This time period will lack an overarching evil team to contest with, but there will be a lack of true outside game changers. Mind you if you were to so happen to find something like a Scythe or a Teddiursa and find a pair of rare and weird items… whose to say what would happen?)

{} Present ( The Rise of All Stars): You have started your Journey at the same time as Red and Blue. A pair of Extraordinary trainers that will take the world by storm and may or may not star a trend of ren something year olds doing the impossible. This time period is a lot more active, and Team Rocket is fully entrenched in Kanto, also RED and BLUE are active. The road to the top will not be easy. But the best Blades are sharpened by clashing with equal steel, do keep that in mind. (Active team Rocket, Red and Blue. Fairy Type will considered a Revolutionary new discovery and you will have easier access to Hoehn mons. Who knows? Maybe you'll find a weird stone and bracelet somewhere?)

{*} Future (A New Enemy): It's been over a decade since the fall of Team Rocket and the ascension of Trainer Red as the Champion of the Region, no evil teams have set foot in the Kanto/Johto regions since. Except now. Rumors of a so called "Team Umbra" filter through the darkest corners of the region. Red is an established champion and has a habit of being a "Legendary Wrangler." Aka, make sure these mini gods don't wreck his home or ruin a neighboring Region. There is a greater access to information and perhaps some things can be more easily obtained.

("Modern" era Poke world. Public Knowledge of most legendries, Mega Evolution, Z-Moves, etc. Fairy Type is known. Far easier access to evolution items or foreign mons if you know what you are doing. However an EXTREMELY dangerous team is staking its claim in the region and have begun doing horrifying experiments on the local Pokémon, transforming them in unethical ways. *Shadow Pokémon are a Thing; Void experiments have caused the creations of new Pokémon species or Evolutions*).

Oh dear, this is quite a predicament. This might be quite a dangerous situation to be in. Luckily, you have an ace of your sleeve.

Ace in the hole:

{} Mega ring: Opens up access to a mega compatible mon in the future.

{} Altered Dynamax band: Opens Access to a Dynamax/Gygantamax Pokemon in the Future, this thing has been supercharged, so it can be used outside of the Galar Region.

{*} Void Enhanced Burst Crystal and Burst Accessory: Burst Crystals are gems containing the essence of a Pokémon. When used by a human, this gives them access to the Pokémon's power locked within while transforming them in appearance to look like a mix of the mon and trainer. Essentially you become a monster boy/girl. An unknown user of this was a trainer who had a Zekrom as partner, using their combined might to defeat an evil association in the past. This crystal, however, has been enhanced to be capable of holding multiple essences. It's a powerful tool, and one of the main reasons for your journey is to find out more about it.

Yes… a potent tool indeed. Now where are you from, city wise?

Hometown:

{}Pallet Town: A quaint town and home to famous individuals like Red, Blue and Prof. Oak. While it lacks any strong Pokémon to begin with, perhaps there's a way to get one of Kanto's or Johtos world famous starters?

(Common Pokémon include: Rattata, Spearow, Pidgey, Poochiena Caterpie, Weedle, Sentret, and Magikarp (fishing))

(Rare Pokémon include: Pikachu, Eevee, Nidoran, Mankey, Jigglypuff, Spinarak, Tangela and Mr. Mime)

(Ultra Rare Pokémon include: Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Charmander, Chikorita, Totodile and Cyndaquil) (Requires taking the Lab Assistant Background)

{*}Saffron City: A giant City containing the World renowned Silph Co. and home to one of the world's most powerful Psychic's, Sabrina. Being the hometown of a Gym Leader and Corporation, Saffron is perhaps one of the more fortified places in the region outside of Ever Grande City. Perhaps this place will provide valuable intel? Its close Proximity to other cities like Lavender Town, Cerulean, Vermillion, and Celadon also make it a tantalizing option.

(Common Pokémon include: Pidgey, Rattata, Oddish, Meowth, Bellsprout, Hoothoot, Poliwag)

(Rare Pokémon include: Abra, Magnemite, Pineco, Combee, Vulpix, Growlithe, Psyduck, Buizel, Whismur Plusle and Minum)

(Ultra Rare Pokémon include: Heracross, Murkrow, Houndour, Shinx, Gastly, Chansey)

(Exclusive Pokémon if picked alongside the Void Chaser Background: Gible, Axew, Charcadet, Porygon, Dreepy, Hisuian Zorua, Riolu, Tinkatink)

{} Fucshia City: Home of the world-famous Safari Zone, and also the home of the poison gym leader Janine, Fuchsia is one of the "older" cities of Kanto. Those that live here are taught a variety of traditions that can help many trainers in their journeys. Theres also rumors of ninjas running around, so watch out during the night!

(Common Pokémon include: Grimer, Nidoran, Krabby, Duduo, Ledyba, Venonat, Rhyhorn, Paras, Exxecute, Venonath)

(Rare Pokémon include: Scyther, Teddiursa, Slugma, Girafarig, Khangaskan, Tauros, Cubone, Pinsir and Phanby)

(Ultra Rare Pokémon include: Ditto, Dratini, Shinx, Horsea, Lapras, Croagunk, Munchlax and Ralts)

Ah Saffron! Yes, perhaps that's a good starting point to find out more about the Burst Ring…or perhaps you know a bit already? What type of Background do you have miss?

Background:

{} Ordinary Civilian: Ah you are as plain as plain can be. Well… until you take the world by storm that is. You have a dream, a well of ambition and a need to know. This Burst Crystal was passed on from your late family and you want to learn more about it!
(No benefits, but no downsides either)

{} Lab Assistant: For your early years as a Teenager you worked as a Lab Assistant to the World-Famous Professor Oak, you have plenty of field experience in the world of research and after 5 years of working for him, the very same professor asked you a favor! Well, more like he did you a favor, he gave you a Pokedex and told you to explore the world and enjoy whatever it may bring, just make sure to call every so often.

(You will start your journey with plenty of knowledge about Pokémon, thanks to your years working for Oak. This comes with some weight in the scientific community, and you will always have the good professor's number in case of a new discovery! Not only that, but you will also gain a National Dex and if you start in Pallet Town, one of the ultra-rare starter Pokémon! But you may need to dedicate some of your time doing research for the Professor from time to time, not only that, he recommended you got rid of the Void Burst Crystal, from what little information the Professor was able to find, its nothing but bad news.)

{*} Void Chaser: You know those rumors about a new evil team running around? Well its true, and you used to be one of them. They got you at an early age and you were raised to be a part of their team. Heck you aren't even native from Kanto! After a while you could not take it anymore and managed to erase any records of yourself from their mobile base while you were in the Orre Region, you managed to grab 3 Pokémon that where being experimented on and the Burst Crystal and ran into the Orrean deserts, where many assume you died. Luckily, you managed to not only escape, but you also made it all the way to another region and have been laying low alongside your Pokémon ever since. You know what the Crystal is, but you don't know what Essence is stored within, and you didn't really care. But there's rumors, that Umbra is making a move towards Kanto, and you know your time of peace is nearing its end. You need to get stronger, so why not take the Gym Challenge?

(Start with Knowledge of Umbra and some knowledge of the Burst Ring. Pick three of the Ultra Rare Pokémon in one of the starter locations for your party, but one of the has to be a Shadow Pokémon that will be harder to control until purified. Additionally you start with a house/apartment and plenty of cash in hand, due to job hunting while laying low. Umbra will eventually know who you are and will actively seek your downfall).

…You are playing a dangerous game miss. But I can appreciate the fact that you seek redemption from your wrong doings, not only that you are helping those Pokémon of yours, but I can also see the genuine affection you all share. I wish you luck, truly I do. But then again… perhaps you aren't alone? Do you perhaps have an ally?

Companion?:
{}No I left alone.

{*} Yes, I have an ally, a friend even. (Unlocks Kaneko Akemi as an Ally and Rival. Kaneko will start with the same origins as you, but will have her pick of one Ultra Rare from your Starting Location that was being experimented on by Umbra, and two Rare Pokémon from a different location than yours, due to the fact you guys split up after reaching Kanto).

That's good to hear, nobody should be alone, especially with the task you are about to undertake. I do believe that's everything in order. Well, except for your name of course.

Name: Rei Maruki.

It's been a pleasure Miss Maruki, and I do hope to see you again in the future, now… I do believe its time you woke up, time to become a hero.

*BEEP* *BEEP*

Rei: … another morning. Time to see what the world has in store.

Author notes: Hey, so I've been Playing Poke Rouge and just finished a mono Poison Run when I had a though, should I make a Pokémon Omake or a Halloween Omake since its nearly the end of October? Pokémon won. So yeah, here's what a Perhaps For Love or Maybe Justice Pokémon AU Quest may look like, or maybe not. I'm never making a quest; I don't have the skill for that and I'm okay with it. What would you guys have chosen during the character selection phase? Maybe added something else?

Perhaps for Love or Maybe Justice: Pokemon Void Version
Bud

I know you said you weren't gonna ever make a quest, but this is some really good ground work for a Pokémon quest. Heck It fully fits in the lore of Pokemon too!

Shadow Pokemon, the ability to don armor that gives your the power of Pokemon? Insane how much this fits.

As for what I would pick...
The Past, Sinnoh, and a Lab Assistant.

Honestly? It sounds fun to have a quest where your at the start of canon, and due to the thread having knowledge of the game's lore, is able to drag their protagonist to discovering and training with all of that cool extra stuff lying around the world before it becomes well known.
