I still believe that through our chivalry and grace the Seven will grant us a heir through righteous sorcery so that we can marry our true love. Yep.
That unfortunately wouldn't work, as no one with any power would actually believe that the child was concieved by divine means instead of the very common ways that makes new noble children out of wedlock.

What reality actually is doesn't matter, what matters is how our fellow nobles percieve it.

We just need a husband who will not become a second Androw Farman.

While Rhaena was pretty cruel to Androw, can't really lay him being a serial killer at anyone's feet but his own. We should definitely go into marriage with a husband that both knows the score and knows we'll be okay with him seeking a relationship elsewhere.

A few known or likely politically viable options here:

Laenor: canon option, we know he wouldn't mind us having a lover on the side. This isn't my preferred option, and I might lay out the argument against him later, but we know it'd work.

Gwayne: He at least knows about Alicent's feelings for us and didn't seem judgemental about it. He might not be willing to be a beard though - maybe he has similar romantic notions. This would go a long way towards making the gf's dad happy. Also, she's the daughter of a second son - it seems at least plausible he'd begrudgingly accept her being a "confirmed bachelorette" if he gets grandkids on the throne.

Harwin: I think this is the iffy-ist one relationship-wise. He had an extramarital affair in canon, so it might be presumed he wouldn't care about us having one on him… but Rhaenyra was probably not actually having sex with Laenor that much (maybe at all) over the course of their relationship. Also might lead to relationship drama, since he is a romance option in his own right.

Unironically there's a fair few incidents where someone being crowned queen of love and beauty was not done for romantic reasons so in theory you could get away with people not getting it
Note: Getting away with it might have been made slightly harder by Rhaenyra dancing with the public embodiment of sapphic rumors.

Allicent might be a bit weirded out by this option. At the very least we would need to run it by her first.

I mean, clearly it would be emasculating to crown our husband the queen of love and beauty. We can't do that. So we'll just have to keep crowning our dear companion.

Yeah, definitely. On the other hand, it'd make our kids blood related to her, which might be nice - or not.

Arguably I think we should run any prospective husband by her - he's going to have to know, so we should make sure they at least don't hate each other.

Just a thought but Aliecent is going to get married at least at some point what would happen then because I would think that it would be very unlikely that she could stay with or nearby us after that

Plus it helps that unlike a man doing it, I guess, Rhaenyra can't exactly crown a man without it coming off as mocking/emasculating to them; unless the man was like, her husband and everyone knew them to have an easy-going relationship.

So, Alicent it's the only option, really. Pinky promise.

This makes me think that if Rhaenyra goes with Gwayne, then aren't Gwayne and Alicent... sibling-spouses to Rhaenys' and Visenya's sister-wives!?

[X] Kiss her on the hand, offer to be the Knight to her Lady.

I like this.

By the way, is anyone planning on picking up more handmaidens during the progress? It's a nice way to both stablish connections and honor the houses. Sure, some will probably end up being spies down the line, but have your enemies closer and whatever that goes

Yes, I was planning on grabbing Laena before Daemon, sinks his proverbial claws into her.

Yup, important to both get to know Laenor just in case we jump ship to act as each other's extremely obvious beards and also more so now in case Daemon's marriage gets annulled— Corlys would likely marry her to him to consolidate their "block"

Oh shit we'd be marrying one for love and one for duty as well.

Hopefully we get along better with our husband than Aegon with Visenya.

But well, either way we'll have to keep an eye out and bring Alicent on the tour since due to our possible relationship, we gotta see if Alicent bottom-line tolerates the husband and viceversa. And also ask very subtly what they think of extramarital affairs to whoever we vet lol

Agree to that, he went off the deep end and did those horrible things and killed those poor girls on his own.

As for who we marry, I also don't want Laenor, even if it would bind us to the Velaryons. I'm also not sure about Harwin or Gwayne. As stated above, Rhaenyra would have to bring the options up with Alicent, and discuss things with whomever they pick.

Hrrrrm. I'm split. The knightly option would fit to us buuuut...

The thing is this would be the courtly love option. And the thing about courtly love is that it often was idealized, even chaste love. Which is why you could make even a married woman the object of your courtly affections. That was prim and proper, because courtly love isn't the same as an actual affair, it's basically just playing and honouring the object of your affections. Of course, mind, going by everyone's reaction to what Rhaegar did this might not hold as true in Westeros...

So. The concern I have is that the knightly option would get us into a courtly love thing, which is fine to get Alicentz some breathing space - but which might eventually end up standing in the way of a love love affair.

Courtly romance is a very varied subject. Lancelot is basically the Ur example and his relationship was very much not chaste
