Wouldn't he be instantly teleported out - we'd need to commit immediately and not bother with threats here?
A possibility, but do they want to risk if Handyman's sword hand is slower than Shell Game's teleportation? If they bet wrong, that's their entire operation gone.

Faust ain't dumb, he probably has some protections in place like body armor, but against an unknown metahuman he's going to be gambling with his own life on the line.

Several staff members quickly carry over the large, covered tables that you noticed earlier. Faust pulls out a screen, places a call, and holds up his camera.

With that said, Powers isn't stupid.
So at minimum they need to be hidden from LoS for this to work (and hostile teleports may or may not be a thing) - still can't delay this much, flinging a cloth over Faust is probably close to a free action.

Lethal Anodyne. Algernon-type specializing in chemicals that affected the human body.
Anansi. Algernon-type hero who specialized in "computers".
Aside from Body Armor, pretty good odds that Faust has buffs from LA that are non-addictive, and that our Electronic Comms from now on should be treated as always compromised?

Hmm BS is probably gonna supersonic flight and blast everyone apart from JU and Hiver here. Even the nonhumans are basically involve in a trap to kill of JU so with blood pumping I can mona see not caring.

We know mona would have killed maddie if Leizi died afterall. SM and any peeps with him in this situatuib is a much more valid target.

Edit: BTW if we survive and get Hiver out. I vote spreading info about faust his powers and how to bypass it.

I hope they haven't given Scarlet Maturity the same treatment they gave Earthen Owl. Him being able to make clones was a pretty big expansion of his powers, I shudder to think what expanding SM's powers will do. Though maybe they're still in the testing phase and went with someone expendable (my Owl can never catch a break).

Theres also a possibility the power booster is the reason SM is at the level his at. They just perfected it enough taht you dont SM regen to survive it.

SM should already be Potency 13, it should be actively impossible to raise it any further, since the only Potency 14 Metahuman was Apiary, by WoG. If he's stronger than that, then he's not a Metahuman.

Because if he isn't already a Potency 13 Metahuman, then someone in universe is actively cheating to give the worst person imaginable the most grotesque synergies at the smallest cost possible, and then give them room to grow stronger still.

"Shell Game, if you would?"

The next second, there is a massive displacement of air. The profile of the object under cloth on the table changes. Then, it begins to rise.
So, important details of Shell Game's new powers.

The objects to be switch-teleported still need to be of equivalent mass, hence why they had tables full of meat to be able to get Scarlet Maturity here. The objects to be switch-teleported also needs to be unobserved by anyone, hence why the tables were covered up.

Important to note that Shell Game isn't here. Faust had to call him on the phone, so this is a remote power.

If Faust can't call Shell Game, he can't be teleported, and he can't do that if he has a sword to his exposed neck. Similarly, Faust can't be teleported to safety so long as someone is looking at him.

Another important bluff that we can make. Black Swan is faster than everyone in this room. She could literally go lightspeed in a straight line, and Faust would be too slow to react and no matter what metapower protections he has, I sincerely doubt he could survive a lightspeed ram.

Doesn't matter if Scarlet Maturity is here. He's absurdly strong and tough, but he's not that fast.

14 is possible but we know Apiary is an utter freak for a reason yeh. More than likely a Potency 14 kills you especially since it wouldnt be a natural.

Like even enetering the stage along with other powers just need a 13 potency not 14.

Whatever their treatment is, it does have a strengthening component: Shell Game was said to be able to swap small objects, not whole people.

But it also, like I said, seems to be primarily focused on broadening abilities. Owl had vines before, but Vine Clone Jutsu was new. Ete created fire weapons, now she creates fire soldiers. Pritemps made plant cannons, now he can just transform existing plants into them instead of having to make something from scratch. Presumably, Shell Game didn't have this level of range before.

Power's research seems to be focusing on making people more flexible, rather than 'stronger'.

[X] You refuse. Time for the stick.

Can I use my +2 here or something? Or should I save it? Might as well stack the deck the best we can

The more I think about it, the more I realize that our position isn't actually that terrible. They caught us off-guard, but we'll do the same to them. It's a proper stand-off.

We can survive a punch from Scarlet Maturity thanks to the Shield Generator, but can they risk the same with Faust when we can shut down Shell Game's teleportation? Handyman could turn into a puddle and reform behind him with a sword to his neck, Black Swan could ram him at lightspeed, and we still have Menagerie Witch's horde to serve as distractions and extra bodies to get between us and Powers.

Reminder that even when Black Swan went full black hole back in the Mitt, she still couldn't kill all of Maddie's summons.

We got this.

Hiver could throw a shield around us that keeps the others out, as well, one would think.

Make a cylinder around himself, Leizi and Rhys, with no top. Float us high into the air, have Maddie on a Nevermore clone right by us to catch us and then fly off.

Powers is responsible for Towarri and that military group that kidnapped her. Faust might even be the dad who had our remote viewer girl spy on Mona.
"Very well, Lady Leizi. I'll skip the pleasantries and get directly to the point. An interested party has contracted Dominion Security Concerns, seeking information about what exactly Justice Unlimited is up to. My client is not used to being ignorant."
They are definitely most likely to be working together, but I think Father is the client in this case, see bolded.

This is just me talking as another player, but I'd recommend waiting until we see the rolls before committing. We "only" have a -4 malus here. If adding 2 can bring us to 15 or one of the lower thresholds, I'd recommend it, but at the moment, it's possible that we could get a major success without using up any bonuses.

A good idea, but I wouldn't bet on that shield lasting against one punch from SM. If we're going that route, we need Black Swan to occupy him.

I think apart from potncy theyre research gives additional keywords to a power.

Edit: BTw i think i know why anansi defected now probably in hopes of preventing a rebound through boosters
