Honestly to avoid doubling up on actions that do not NEED to be doubled up on I would recomend ONE action be spent on battle magic then a short mission like troll hunting. An action spent on unlocking all the standard elementals plus an action spent on greater aqushy elemental is plenty to go troll hunting with even if we don't get the greater elemental.

It's more that Blackout made a post in which heavily implied that a single actionis insufficient for a battle magic spell. And this isn't a low tier battle magic spell, it's a mid tier one.

Next job should also be considered.

We probably won't need Reinforcements for Hearth-Blade Training.

Troll hunting is a good, relatively low risk mission we can use for training.

Caravans are likely out - no sense risking Dorial's health.

Other than that, let's see what comes up.

If you want to get contracts suitable for large forces you need to hire more people, not the other way around. Employers are going to look at what forces you have, not what you could theoretically acquire.

I think that, especially since Blackout's veiled statements about them, the odds a Mid-Tier Battle Magic spell can be learned in one action are less than 1%. I thus don't consider it a meaningful risk of wasted actions to do two. Two is more possible (though probably still a bit low) and I thus favor doing only two, but one isn't gonna be enough.

Still think we should take the Troll Hunting first, so we make both money and expirience. But it will depend on what options we have, and if we contact the Hags then maybe we will have another opportunity.

Yeah, In that case it's either straight to recruitment and Troll hunting OR Hearth-Blade Training and then recruitment and Troll hunting.

Either way we get some combat Experience and get the word out that we expanded.

I think Troll Hunting should be first (unless we find a better contract) because unlike Hearth-Blade Training its time sensitive.

If we wait too long, the Troll infestation is either going to be solved by somone else or cause too much damage to the countryside.

[X] Yes, you need all the manpower you can get.

Any chance that Zanitlov is still in Erengrad?

Might be worth it to take a gamble and reveal that we know he was on Anti-Chaos mission with us and maybe try for another such contract?

Hi, you know the thing you took great personal risk to keep hidden and forgotten? ya, we know it.

sounds like a great way to make friends....

We need fresh meat. Which means we need to determine what our reputation is after the raid so we can determine how much we need to spend on lodging.

After we get lodging taken care of, we can figure out what missions we have so we can determine what kind of men we want to hire.

Then we find out who's available for hire and do so.

Then we clean up our insanity points.

Finding long-term care for our injured lore master.

So, a rough schedule for me.

Reputation check.

Lodging selection. If we still need high quality quarters for high quality missions then it's worth it.

Update mission selection.

Recruitment (check).

Insanity healing.

Lore Master care.

We can hopefully easily fit battle magic into our schedule with four more slots.

Why? Its not a big expense, and the earlier we get it the better it is.
I just think people are underestimating how long it will take to get it ready to use. That was one of the big arguments for why we didn't take the demigryph, and while whatever we get probably won't take nearly as long I still think it would be better to focus our efforts elsewhere for the moment.

Too many things to do, we have to prioritize...
If we become trainers for the Dazh Hearthblades, we do not need to recruit people immediately. However, what someone said is also true: the Troll problem may develop in various ways if we leave it to stew for too long: either someone else solves it (and humans may take many casualties doing it), or they devastate the countryside even more.

0. Free actions: Downgrade to Decent lodgings, for financial concerns; Check in Dorial at a hospice (Lileath's temple, Shallya's etc.); shop if anything is needed
1. Silver smithing, because we keep our word.
2. Write a song, and give it to bards for Dorial's duel
3. Spend time with the Swordmasters. This is both R&R, morale check, potential incidental insanity reduction, and also discussing: do they have ideas for the kind of mercenary company we can shape up to be?
4. Testing the 5 lesser elementals we still haven't used yet, because that means completing a magical step and having a Swiss army knife of elementals for every occasion
5. Recruit troops: check the humans both from the city and from the countryside, check the Elves in the quarter. Who is available, and which kind of troops? There will probably be a decision here, although we can just plan for 15 Elven archers/30 human archers + 30 human spearmen.

And then we are off a-hunting Trolls, before the problem gets solved by someone else or becomes 10,000 trolls that are impossible to solve.
We will have all the lesser elementals, including both Ghur and Fire, so with ourselves and some auxiliary troops I think we are well equipped.
Next actions in the queue will be: Inspiration, Greater Fire Elemental, Earthblood. And training the Hearthblades while we learn magic.

If we really are going Troll hunting then I'm inclined to vote that in terms of recruitment we should get just archers and nothing else. Archers can help with trolls just fine by firing arrows at the trolls from afar, but I'd expect only a very good spearline to be able to handle a troll's charge and not break. I doubt we're going to be able to get spearmen that good as fresh recruits, save perhaps if we recruit all Asur in spearmen.
