[X] Nemona Mendoza

As much as I already adore the exasperated bird man, gotta vote for my beloved battle maniac.

[X] Nemona Mendoza: She walks in already wearing the school uniform just like you. She had brown skin, black hair with a singular green streak, and orange eyes that immediately locked on to you and Roland. A Chimchar was clinging onto her back. Before you could greet her, the words had already left her grinning mouth.

Nemona needs friends, and we can battle

Why is the DC for battling Nemona 24, I wonder?

Maybe it's that she has 14 SKL - highest possible at chargen and she's assumed to roll a average of 10 on a d20.

I assume later on autobattles will take in to account Type differences/badge level of the pokemon, but for two zero-badge mons with no type advantage over each other...

That makes sense. She'd be built that way.

Technically, Roland has a defensive type advantage over Chimchar - dragon resists fire and ghost is immune to pretty much the rest of its damage-dealing skillset, unless Nemona picked up a good coverage TM already. Which...well, I wouldn't put it past her.

[X] Erika Furuwada: Pale face set in a scowl. Dark blue eyes with her long blue hair styled into pigtails. A worried looking Carbink trailing after her. Her white and pink cardigan, pink skirt and black leggings seem to be stained by an unknown drink. Your attempt at saying hello was met with an irritated snarl.

Okay, so we have a psychic Chimeco in our house, but aren't used to psychic talk?

I'm calling bull.

Plus the way Ostia and Argy shared that side-eye.

Something happened at some point.

Lets do a quick breakdown of each of the rolls in the voting options:
[] Erika Furuwada:
  • Can tutor you if you pass a DC 24 CHRM roll (Gives +250 KNOW XP if passed) (Doubles to +500 KNOW XP due to traits) (Only gain a flat +100 KNOW XP that cannot be changed by traits if not passed)
CHRM is 12, so we pass on a 12 or higher, giving a 45% chance of success.
[] Nemona Mendoza:
  • Three Minor Battles (Will Roll 3 1d20+SKLL for outcome. DC 24 to win a Battle against Nemona.)
SKLL is 12, so we've got ~16.6% to win 0 matches, ~40.8% to win 1, ~33.4% to win 2 and ~9.1% to win all 3.
[] Manuel de Cascaraffa:
  • Can be battled in Two Minor Battles (Will Roll 2d20+SKLL for Outcome. DC 18 to Win against Manuel)
Need to roll a 6 or more here, so 6.25% to lose both, 37.5% to win 1 match and 56.25% to win both.
[] Jacinto Laureano:
  • Can catch a single random Common or Uncommon Flying type (requires a DC 22 CHRM roll and a DC 16 SKLL roll)
Chance of passing both rolls is 0.55*0.85 = 46.75%

Honestly they all look pretty even, they just have different benefits and downsides. The Manuel option kinda feels like bullying lol, but overall I'd be happy with either Nemona or Erika.

Honestly that makes me more curious about the one who doesn't have a roll attached.

How does that work? Theodora just talks? I guess?

Erika is neither. Only one in Class 7 that the Outsider trait is valid for is probably Manuel. Both Elise and Theodora have Reason^tm to not care.

Great quest so far! Fittingly, I have a few questions:

Double TeamBeginner+1 to Initiative and Effect Rolls until Switch0/3Enemy Attack Misses if Effect Roll Less than UsersNight Shade (Requires 3 Badge
Would you mind clarifying how this move works? Specifically the Enemy Attack Misses portion.

Secondly, what's the word on us developing move sequences, move combinations, and/or other specific tactics? The first one that came to mind was having Roland use Double Team 'imperfectly', leaving the 'real' copy as the only one with a shadow, inviting an attack, only for Roland to counter from his Shadow Sneak.

Thirdly, do we have any notable restrictions on Terastalization, apart from the usual? Can we choose between any of Roland's three Tera types during battle, or do we have to 'set' that beforehand somehow?

My Noble children will not win, in this case I will go for the depressed showing girl, to keep up the trend of caring for people who clearly need help.

[X] Jacinto Laureano: The young man at the door introduced himself to you and Leaf as Jacinto. Well-groomed, formal and polite; the only thing that really stood out about him was the birds. A Pidove on his left shoulder, a Pidgey on his right, a Fletchling snuggled up in the pockets of the jacket he wore over his uniform, a group of Murkrow lounging on top of his luggage behind him and finally a snoozing Swablu nearly covering his mop of gray and black hair.

1. The enemy attack as long as it isn't an always hit move will miss meaning you don't get damaged. Removed the if effect roll is lower than users since its superfluous with how secondary effects work
2. Custom Moves and the like can be developed and made later on as you become a better trainer and your Pokemon become stronger. The example you already kind of happens with the effect and initiative bonus granted by Double Team at base.
3. Tera types used in a battle depend on the Approach used for that fight. It'll be similar to the one in the first update. Offense approach might prioritize Tera types that boost raw power or boost super effective moves. Defensive outlooks might prioritize Tera types that have resistances or shore up a major weakness of that Pokemon, etc.
