Lex Mechanica

Ah yeah, good old reminder to the fact that the anti-seeker grouping exists because of quotes like this from Seekers founder:
And if that was reflected in the plans, I wouldn't vote for it. Maybe you should consider that OoC statements don't have any bearing on what the IC faction is doing? Even though many people supporting the seekers would likely oppose subjugation of these Ewoks, the Seekers are still doing it, even if it is a mildly lighter hand.

I disagree because your party funds the police. Who would oppress the menials. We do away with the need for that by just feeding and educating and housing them thus removing 90% of the need for them to commit crimes.
What are you talking about?
We have:
1. space elevator prep
2. improvements in Education quality
3. improvements in education accessibility
4. better working hours across the board
5. better working safety across the board
Why do you say that?
Because we plan structural improvements that will increase quality of life instead of just not mistreating people when building the spacelift.

Honestly the main problem is you also join the cordon against the Seekers. If you didn't, you'd have power in the Seeker coalition.
its not like i wouldn't want to be part of the governing coalition, but better be part of the opposition than party to things that i think will cause far more harm than good as part of the government.

The biggest weakness of the opponents to the Seekers in my opinion, is a refusal to coalition with us, and an insistence on forming a corone sanitaire in an attempt to keep us from achieving power for whatever reason.
"the biggest weakness of our ideological enemies is not helping us win"
Im sorry, but i like to try thinking IC in these types of quests and i honestly can't see a person that grew up in 40k voting seekers.

turn4- 744M41 Election result : A pillar of iron into the skies

As a new era dawns, the forgeworld, steeped in a blend of politics and religious fervor, embarks on its latest election season. This year is marked by a celestial event: the forgeworld received an awe-inspiring gift, believed to be from the machine god himself. In Sidonia, the heart of this world, the ritual of voting, entrenched in tradition and practice, concluded flawlessly, paving the way for a novel government structure.

The election witnessed the rise of a new political force, The Lighthouse of Humanity. Garnering 15% of the popular vote, this party succeeded in forming a majority government. Their victory elevated Magus MG-983, a figure of profound wisdom and strategic foresight, to the pinnacle of leadership in the forge.

In the first year of his rule, the Fabricator General initiated the ambitious project of constructing the Orbital Elevators of Sidonia. These towering structures, rooted at the zenith of the Great Forgecity, are designed to revolutionize the transportation of goods. Enabling an unprecedented exchange between the planetary surface and orbit, these elevators promise to bolster the forge's capacity. Despite the anticipated 16-year construction period, the project brims with the promise of interstellar opportunities.

The second year of his administration was characterized by a strategic pivot towards biological engineering, influenced by the persuasive Genetor lobby. The Fabricator General authorized the development of a specialized facility on the Forest Moon, dedicated to the Machine God. This establishment, a nexus for training and research in biotechnological disciplines, has commenced operations amidst the verdant landscape of the moon, with construction servitors already transforming the rich soil for this grand endeavor.

During the subsequent years, spanning from the fourth to the sixth of his administration, the Fabricator General embarked on an extensive reform of the educational landscape. He restructured the learning institutions with an innovative approach, streamlining pathways for students to delve into their chosen fields of knowledge. His groundbreaking initiative also entailed the demolition of the dilapidated Pandora device temple, replaced by a magnificent cathedral venerating the holy machine. This architectural marvel, embodying both spiritual and scientific aspirations, was met with widespread acclaim from the citizenry and the Magi alike.

In the final year of his term, facing the looming threat of the Drens. He commissioned the construction of formidable forts and defense installations, strategically positioned to safeguard the realm. These bastions, equipped with advanced weaponry and artillery, stand as a bulwark against any Dren incursion. Should any Dren war party dare to approach, they would be met with a relentless barrage, showcasing our might and resolve in the face of the enemies of Mankind.

However in all this the other parties not in government didn't stay iddle.

The seekers of the Omnissiah attempt the infiltration of several organs of the Mechanicus, a special focus was on the parts that see a large number of menials such as the food department and the sanitorial divisions.

The warriors of the machine god facilitated the enfranchising of the newly risen warriors of the mechanicus.

The Cogs of Justice went out of their way to investigate any sign of trouble brewing in the forge world, all in all, its pretty silent, however the amount of reports of Mutants in our waste management plants and in caves on the outskirts of the Forge.

The Steel cult focuses on the growing military of our world, there they find fertile soil, especially on units on the front lines of the defense operations on the moon.

The Luminen of the Forsaken Calculus creates a monk and paramilitary force called the verdant order, this branch of the party joins the defensive lines on the forest moon, inspiring the various Skitarii on it to fight harder than normal.

Rumblings on the Edge: Imperial reports sightings of weird xenos incursion happening on the southern flank of the galaxy near the realm of Ultramar, the inquisition has dispatched an inquisitor to the World of Tyran, hopefully, the reports are just superstition and faulty equipment.

sorry about the update being small, this one fought me to get out

Leaning too heavily into humanists stuff, imho.
While improving the working conditions is a good thing and can contribute to a productive Forgeworld, its neither the sole nor the main focus of the Illuminated Mechanicus.

The Illuminated Mechanicus is about a productive and safely innovating Forgeworld.

Considering this:
There's also several applications of psykers Psy-out nades, gellar field, etc etc
Would breeding Dren for such things break imperial law?
Don't think so, as you are not allied to them but using them for stuff.
I'd like to get started on a Dren psyker servitor / psyker-related-products (psyout n stuff) research.

New action 1 item (rest pushed one position back, drop whatever you like least):
-[] 1: Establish the Genetor-black-lab on a big asteroid or similar isolated location, with enough arms aimed at it to deal with possible leaks. A facility for studying Dren hostile psykers.

Would be enough for me for a compromise this turn.

[X] Plan: We are going to make our means of production
-[X] Party Name: Holy Machine Faction
-[X] Coalition: Name: Glory of the Omnissiah Goals: Build up our Forge world to create wonders
--[X] Invited to Join:Illuminated Mechanicus, Sect of Holy Lighting Inspiration, Society of the Living Alloy, Cogs of Justice
--[X] Not: Seekers of the Omnissiah
-[X] 1: Order work on an upgrade to magma sieves, if we can dig deeper, hopefully we can start extracting more rare minerals and reducing imports.
-[X] 2: Expand agri-complexes on the moon. With the Xenos pushed back, it is time we expanded our food production so as to remove corpse starch entirely and save the bodies for servitors.
-[X] 3: Begin construction of a new factorum to create this new material given to us by the Pandora Machine. We can use it to make close combat weapons for the Skitarii, void ship parts, and ammunition
-[X] 4: Establish a second Forge City on Sidonia.
-[X] 5: Start production of mining vessels. They should either bring asteroids back to the orbital elevator for processing or be able to do it themselves.
-[X] Outreach: Hold another gathering. This time, we will look into what fighter, bomber, and shuttle designs we have available. With production on orbital elevators almost complete, we will begin prep work on using it to product the smallest of space defenses.

Is everyone just going to refuse to coalition with the Seekers? This isn't very sportsmanlike from an OOC perspective.

Literally unfun.
If everyone has the refuse coalition with Seekers thing, you could see that as sign that everyone else dislikes something about them (hint: massive deregulation without any care about effects, "nothing can go wrong" attitude in discussion about those points) and considers Seekers unfun to the point of "we don't want to play with Seekers, so we'll play without them".

is there anything I could do to get people not to cordon santiare the party? Right now my main focus is utalizing the Ewoks and bringing them into the forge world instead of just killing them
I think your lack of caution is what's putting people off. It's one thing to pratice "tech-heresy" while giving a show and dance so the orthodox faction doesn't know any better. It's another to practice it out in the open where any visiting techpriest can take a glance and see it out in the open.

Not to mention you constantly brushing off people's fears of Chaos corruption of "that lore is stupid and I'm ignoring it". If you were the QM, that's ok, since you decide where the story goes. However, the actual QM didn't say anything about agreeing with you on that part of the lore.

Lastly, I think you would have better chances of integrating Xenos if they were anyone other then the murder-ewoks we have right now. Psykers and live sacrifices? That's really going to push people's paranoia buttons.

On a related side tangent, there's a visitng Inquisitor nearby. Mind you, I don't think he's even in the same system, but the already paranoid people are going to be even more so.

[X] Plan: A Glorious Return
- [X] Party name: Seekers of the Omnissiah
- [X] Coalition: Anybody willing to work with us who doesn't actively hate the menials
- [X] 1: Begin the process of integration of nearby xeno tribes into our glorious forge world as their unique biology and warp potential combined with their knowledge of the planet makes them invaluable. Do this peacefully if possible, by force if needed
- [X] 2: Send a fact finding investigative mission to determine the nature and quantity of the mutants we have heard reports of, see if we can incorporate them into the rest of the forgeworld
- [X] 3: promote more ways for menials to rise in status and join the mechanicus as well as social mobility within the mechanicus with new legislation to expedite the process and open up spots. Firmly move away from the old process of apprenticeship
- [X] 4: Construct more agridomes to allow much greater food supply and hopefully achieve a surplus
- [X] 5: Deregulate the "tech heresy" of innovation to allow new discovers of the Omnissiah's works to flourish and to push back the frontier of ignorance
- [X] Outreach: Continue to secure Seeker or otherwise radical dominance of education, both for menials and for chaff
