Disciples of Red Dew Sect (Cultivation Riot Quest)

Fair enough, but it really seems like it will make elixirs hard to use.
As I read it the elixirs attach to the double down on cultivation action, not replace it.
Turn 2: Actions
Public notice. If you DO decide to do the super dangerous thing of exploring and find...
-A place we can grow herbs (or rice)
-A place that would be good to cultivate. (Volcanoes, sacred pretty lakes in the moonlight, a vein of spiritual metal)
-Natural treasures such as QI enchanted wood or metal.
-Groups of spirit beasts of any level.
The sect would be willing to pay a reasonable finders fee. (Probably on the order of several months of even YEARS of cultivation resources.)
On the sect mission board, a simple note is posted.
Hunt down the Granite Pheasants
Difficulty rate: soldier rank
Mission type: capture/eliminate team mission
Elder Zhang had requested for all interested outer and inner disciples of suitable strength to hunt down or capture the Granite pheasants roaming the crimson copper outcroppings in the province.
Reward:
1 equivalent ranking spirit stone for every pheasant killed and brought back.
1.5 spirit stone if the body is brought back relatively intact.
5 spirit stone for every living pheasant brought back.
Another note finds the board.
Improve the Realm
Cultivate your body and mind by improving the lives of mortals in accordance with the late Sect Master's wisdom. Assist with building roads, constructing watch towers, and plowing fields for new farms. The reward is two peasant spirit stones.

Another note in the fine calligraphy is pinned to the boards in the inner and outer rings.
"Disciples of the Red Dew Sect. This Honorable Elder Jigui is hereby granting you the opportunity to further your own cultivation and gather valuable knowledge in the extensive gardens of the Pagoda of Spirits. A number of 10 Soldier-grade and 50 Peasant-grade Outer Disciples will be required for this task. Those distinguishing themselves in this task will be rewarded with the a part of the ingredients they helped to harvest."
The message is signed by Jigui Taifang, Elder of Spirits.
Yet another note is placed on the outer disciple bulletin board.
I, Elder Zhu Saqiang would request several volunteers for the highly dangerous task of inspecting a spirit stone mine that had been shut down with me and Elder Yesui, and clearing it of monsters. The mine itself is soldier grade, although it is filled with very strong monsters of an unknown nature. Because of the danger, you will stay behind to cover the miners or aid them in mining if you would like to, while your senior brothers and the elders engage the monsters. There will be a reward of at least 30 peasant spirit stones, and further rewards may be given depending on the opinion of my fellow elders or if you manage to kill a small beast.
A notice is posted on all the sect's communal buildings where the outer disciples can see it.
"The sect's spirit beast ranch near lake Tawei has suffered from a lack of proper care and as a result many of the spirit llamas have escaped. Any disciple who is able to retrieve one of the escaped llamas will receive one Pure Essence Pill. A disciple or group of disciples that is able to repair the damage will receive 12 Pure Essence Pills."
The note has no signature only a delicately drawn sunflower in the corner.

Wu Ji Nin, Mei Senghai, Gu Jin, Luòtuó, Liao Chuanli and Xìngyùn Xīng would all find a letter atop each of their individual bedrolls, very similar to the one you received the first task from. The idea that the Elder knew of you was flattering, though also distressing.

Since you're so determined to prove yourselves, I invite you to partake in my upcoming Tea Ceremony as servants. We will be receiving an Imperial Official, so be on your best behaviour. Contact with my aide at the Tea Pavillion for further instructions.
Should you prove yourselves useful, I'll personally tutor you for one class. I see a seedling of potential in you, one I intend to nurture.
PS: Don't take on tasks intended to Inner Disciples unless asked to directly, for your own sakes. Other Elders aren't as compassionate."
A small formal message hangs by the outer and inner mission boards, accompanied by a crimson spider lily spreading a sickly sweet scent.
"I require more research material for my gardens and elixirs. Venture into the Ancient Devil Forest and bring back any unknown or uncommon plant, seed or fruit you can find. Extraordinary finds will receive extraordinary rewards, but anything useful will get you something. The forest is dangerous and should be treated as such, group missions are advised.

"This lecture is open, and by this Elder's suggestion recommended, to all new disciples that have joined our Sect and Community this year and have set their first steps on the road of the Cultivator and the discovery of their own Paths."

Yes, to be clear you don't spend an action using an elixir. You do an action and note that you are using an elixir for it.

Could you expand on what that means? I've read one or two cultivation stories, but I'm not uber familiar with the genre.

The technique would help you cultivate when in the presence of water Qi pulling it into your roots and distributing it through your body. At your level this doesn't require any specific action since you don't need much water Qi to fill your roots. But as you get more powerful you'll need to look for area with high concentrations of Water Qi while at the same time picking up more specialized techniques that use that water Qi as fuel.
You can join. Definitely getting close to my limit, but not quite there.

Alright, I really hate to keep zig-zagging on this, but with the reveal of Public Lecture being held this month, I think we may want to hold off on training Red Dew until the next month, when the Red Dew Lecture might be held. I'm really sorry about this, but to be frank, I'm far too interested in the public lecture being held by the Elder of Community this month.

While Song Zhili had intended to perform his duty and give respect to the departed Baron by Improving the Realm, the last minute notice of the Elder's lecture forced him to change his mind. He did have his own personal needs to consider, and it sounded extremely foolish to pass up the Elder's offering.
