Super Robot Quest G

So the Westies have a form of limited Teleportation Tech, probably from predesignated point to point.

Looks like it requires a fair bit of power too.

I want it.

Thinking we want Ichiro to play it smart and have Jessica Smash.

We suspected as much, but it's nice to have confirmation.

[X] Find a weakpoint or something you can exploit - even with the Buster Armor, you're not sure what else that thing can do.
[X] Take it head on - there's no problem you haven't solved before by smashing it to pieces

Oookay…So!
Big Harbor boat mech? We want to be smart-Even if Ichiro prefers the SMASH option I'm not convinced those arms won't smash him first.
The other mech?
…Given it's the Westies, I'm not sure how it stands up to getting caught in a tornado, or to a close-rang pummeling.

Before I vote, there are a few things to consider.
  • So Ichiro's basically fighting a ship-mobile, with a robot torso and arms sitting on a frigate ship bottom, still with all its guns.
  • How big and/or sturdy is the area that Ichiro is fighting in? Is there a danger that if either of them starts busting out the heavy artillery, the whole place is going to come down around their ears?
    • On that point, I'm half-tempted to order Ichiro to exit the area to prevent the risk of him getting buried, but that would leave the Westphalians ample time to clean up that dry dock and remove any tech we can salvage.
  • I'm assuming that both Ichiro and Jessica have cameras, so they probably have footage of the vehicles transforming. If they can see what models those vehicles are, Wilde and Henry can probably reverse-engineer the transformation process by themselves, even if we can't salvage the vehicles directly.
    • Or hey, if we salvage the ship at least, we can get a start on that transforming naval force we keep talking about.
  • I think the first priority of salvage are those teleportation pylons. That looks to be a cornerstone of Westphalian logistics, so once we get that and work out how it works, not only could we use it ourselves, we might be able to intercept and disrupt their logistics. Or hey, maybe even figure out who could've invented such technology.
    • So we gotta make sure Ichiro doesn't smash any of them. Hm... are they small enough that we could order him to tear one out of the ground and GTFO, giving us something to analyze?
  • How big is the cargo plane compared to the Thunderbolt? What is the possibility that Jessica could grapple the thing and throw it into the ocean? I want to say the Thunderbolt is more waterproof than anything the Westphalians could come up with, but...

Quick thought: Just how deep is the drydock, and how does Ichiro handle water? Because if it's not going to send him to Davey Jones' locker, and he doesn't mind getting a little wet, he can just rip it's guts out from below. Even depth charges would have safety stops to keep it from blowing itself up.

1) The area is fairly sturdy, but enough damage will threaten the real estate like any other place. The installation can clearly handle underwater pressure, but you may not want to try purposefully blowing a hole in the wall to stress test it.
2) Yeah, they do have cameras, so the engineers will at least get a good look at what they were fighting.
3) They're not SO small that Ichiro could just tuck one under his arm and book it. For Mekaen-based mecha this would have a warning label of 'two mech lift only.'
4) If you've ever played Firaxis's X-COM, the Thunderbolt is roughly analogous to the Skyranger. Whereas the cargo plane is about the size of a Boeing 747 give or take.

I will say that Ichiro's not in any danger of sinking into the Atlantic if he jumps in at the moment, but he's not exactly aquatic either. (Also points to 1) )

Man, I'm wondering if the tech exchange between the Free Brothers and the Westphalians mean they're wiring Drone AI into the Frankenmechs considering they're apparently pilotless.

For the former, let's be careful about it, especially when fighting it in a closed environment where one wrong mistake brings a ton of water on their heads - and see what they prioritize, destroying the pylons or attacking Ichiro. For the latter, head-on is what Jessica knows how to do best.

She also has a much better safety net than everyone else in our cast with the supernatural reinforcement effect going on a frame of a model that was also decently tanky too given it used to be a boss leveled opponent.

That coupled with her bonus in aggressive tactics means playing it safe is counterproductive in this particular case since her reactive instincts don't apply when trying to keep cool.

It's also interesting to note that Tyrannous has that as a base for his alt mode too so a sort of mirror match between him and Jessica would be pretty cool to see one day if events align to fall that way.

Oké west failia. You are playing a good game. Let's see if we can smash some more of it before we start tearing down your logistic.
