I want Patrick to be Patrick and Graham to be Graham.

While the Tribunal might have more immediate effect in terms of political and military consequences, the Media Blitz would cause Blue Cosmos support to go down in flames and probably cause a political fracturing. Not to mention the possibility of mass resignation, if it is severe enough.

It would also be much, much more visible to non-hardliners in the other side of the war, and probably help Lacus...

In truth, the one major problem with the aftermath was a lack of credibility and spread.

How visible would the Tribunals be? We would need to make it as unbiased as physically possible...and I don't want to give the Vist foundation a single thin dime of support during the ongoIng Unicorn events...

So the consequences of the Tribunal would have to be huge and public to make having to smell the Vist Foundation worth it.

Tribunals can be public about their results and everything, but you need to search troughly for the full information alongside that the heads of the tribunal itself can make information be censored if they suppose a risk to the society, the parts that took place on the tribunal or if their pockets are filled enough, that is without counting it will take time to get the ball rolling for this option (I study laws so I know more or less the workings of a tribunal, even if it is a military one).

There is also a lot of ifs for the option, as both Treize and the vist fundation may not find enough people to get an impartial jury and like hell we want to owe the vist fundation a favor.

The stakes are high, and going all in on dunking on Blue Cosmos seems like the best idea right now.

Also, I'm very glad on my reread that I noticed the Pick two on reinforcements.

Actually, I think we may want to take the Exia as one of the reinforcement options here, since having access to a CB Gundam might come in handy for the mission, since Trans-AM is a useful ability to have.

I mean, technically it's wholly possibly for GN tau drives to be compatible with Trans AM..... you just need to be prepared to eject before your timer runs out and the poor thing explodes.

I'm not making my case very well, am I? :V

Trans-Am for Tau drive units isn't going to be a thing until we get the Masurao (provided that the pilot sheet is accurate, Graham's still flying the Union Flag Custom; at best, he may be flying a GN-X, as he technically shouldn't have an obssesion with proving the superiority of the Flag over the CB Gundams that would prevent him from upgrading to a better unit) and the first mass-production units that use a Tau drive and have access to the Trans-Am system (even if it is in a more flawed manner) are the GN-X IV and the Brave, so barring any research to change that, we are still pretty far away from Trans-Am working on Tau drive units. Also, remember that we will mostly likely have to face the Shambolo this mission, so there is argument in having stronger units present for the mission (granted, since we trounced the Sleeves badly with Trans-Am during Industrial 7, they may be more prepared than last time for a potential usage of Trans-AM against them).

Honestly, I would have named it "The Cosmos Burns Red", but whatever.

We're about to run into the Shamblo. We need more people to handle that abomination, as well as to clear out the rest of the invasion force. Also, good on the Byarlant Custom pilot - if you've watched Unicorn, you know how awesome he is.

A bit more discussion on what our second choice for reinforcements should be (first choice is going to be Exia, because having Trans-Am in reserve if needed is of good use):
  • Last time we've deployed a GN-X squad (Crisis at Eterna mission), the entire squad counted as one unit with an ability score of 7. All other pilots that we can get as reinforcement have an ability score of 6;
  • As I've said earlier, Graham's last deployment had him in the Union Flag Custom, which is a unit that's not quite up to snuff, but it is also possible that he's upgraded to a GN-X, since his reasons for not doing so in Gundam 00 shouldn't apply here, but it's still a bit of a gamble going for Patrick + Graham + GN-X squad as the other reinforcement choice, as it is possible Graham might not as strong as the Gundams and Patrick can be.
All-in-all, I'd say there's good reasons to for either Trowa + Quatre or Patrick + Graham + GN-X to be taken as reinforcement alongside the Exia (though one more thing to note here, we may have to face the Banshee here, so we should be prepared for that eventuality just in case).

Now onto another point... given that most of us want to go for Media Blitz with regards as to how should we have the JOSH-A survivors provide their testimony, Seed's plot is about to go off-rails. After all, Azrael can't get his clean transition towards a very hard line stance against Coordinators if he and his faction get denounced by the more moderate forces of Blue Cosmos for setting them up to die because they weren't hardline enough... (though depending on how it is framed, it could also be made to look like a power grab, rather than an ideological conflict, which would also render him a hypocrite for criticizing Charles for "gallivanting off on a war of conquest when the world is metaphorically on fire" and then turning around and doing what he did to JOSH-A)

I'm leaning more towards the Wing duo, due to their better units and overall higher stats.

And we've got the Ork-Approved Gundam, after all. That's designed for crowd control and suppressive fire!

Sure it's not the absolutely ridiculous amount of Dakka of it's EW upgrade, but it's still a Touhou's worth of bullet.

It *may* be worth giving up the Exia for sheer mob might to better handle the larger force, but there is a definite benefit to having the Kaioken as our ace in the hole in case we get jumped by Speed 2: Char Control or someone similar.

EX Scene: An Unexpected Friendship
Time Unknown
Location Unknown

"Fucking hell, why does it feel like we've been going through this void for days? I thought it was supposed to be a few hours!"

"Pretty sure that's just your perception screwing with you, mission clock says it's only been two hours."

"Are we sure the time dilation that they were supposed to experience hasn't been leaking over?"

"I'm pretty sure that's not how interdimensional travel works. Besides, I doubt time dilation would have any effect in the interdimensional void."

"Actually, how are you two doing anyway?"

"I'm doing fine. I'm worried about Onee-sama though, her vitals have gotten a bit...weird, and she's not responding to my attempts to talk to her."

"Is there any way for you to physically go where her cockpit is to check on her?"

"With how damaged our machine is, and the fact that we're in the interdimensional void, I don't think trying that is a good idea."

"Fair enough."

"Are you sure we'll emerge within orbit of Jupiter, and not, like, inside its atmosphere instead? I don't want us to get crushed to death after everything we've been through."

"Hey, trust the Samsara System, man, it got us out of that collapsing pocket dimension, didn't it?"

"I hate it when you're right."

A/N: A small bit of foreshadowing. If you can identify at least one of the characters, let alone two, I'll be impressed.

...Onee-sama...?

Gunbuster?!

...If it's Noriko in there, I am going to cry. We would be blessed beyond God, beyond even Getter!

We would be blessed by GUTS AND HARD WORK!

Yeah onee-sama kinda gives Noriko vibes.

But the pilot count doesn't match, considering the gunbuster is a 2 pilot machine and it is mentioned that apparently Kasumi is not responding to Noriko attemps to communicate.

So we are missing the identification of 1 more person there.

I'd hope it's Noriko and we're getting Gunbuster.

But it's also possible that the one worried about her oneesama is Nono from Diebuster. In which case it might be a scenario that only robots can be awake/conscious in the interdimensional void, and the one she's speaking to is some Yuusha AI or another.

Pure speculation, though.

This... sounds a lot like 3G, given the talk of collapsing pocket dimensions and Jupiter, but I don't know of anyone who gets addressed as Big Sis in Gaogaigar. Possibly two different units?
