Gauron is taken off guard enough that Kouji is able to charge forward and punt the enemy AS with Mazinger Z. The barrier flashes to life, preventing damage to the machine itself, but the sheer force has enough momentum to send it flying.

"Atomic Punch!" Tetsuya yells, firing off Great Mazinger's fists.

The rocket punches collide with the strange barrier again before Gauron's AS can hit the ground, sending it crashing through a warehouse. You strike with the Energy Whip, and although you don't send Gauron flying quite as far as the Mazingers did, you still manage to send it through the empty space of a Metal Armor hangar.

Boss I have a question for this story but just what level of damage can Gauron's AS actually take with the Lambda Drive activated because I really can't see it standing up to example a clean hit from the Mazinger's Breast Fire. I am just wondering what units from other series can match or exceed the level of needed fire power to hurt the thing.

Remember that this is the Codarl, not the Venom. Also consider that Al, after managing to activate a lambda driver by himself, was able to project a barrier capable of withstanding a nuke. If you really want to try brute-forcing the protection a lambda driver can provide without using another lambda driver, your best bets would be the Unicorn Gundam's Beam Magnum, Wing Zero's Twin Buster Rifle, full power Mazinkaiser using Kaiser Nova, or Shin Getter Robo's Stoner Sunshine.

Possibly also AT field or Distortion field clashes, its an iffy sport, but the Lambda driver isn't as good at sustained clashes of hazardous forces, and while Evangelions are slow for giant robots, they're absurdly agile(the part where a mostly civilian teenager manages to beat Gauron in a grapple being improbable aside).

Aestivalis would need to pincer him like a boss raid, but his heat sink probably runs out before their Nadesico beamed power supply.

Lamba Driver barriers are also notably similar to AT Fields, but with a totally different mechanism for translating pilot willpower into defense. It's possible that they can interfere with each other in the same way that AT Fields can interfere with other AT Fields. Gauron having been fighting for longer than the Eva pilots have been alive, and the Codarl being about the size of an Eva's shin, are problems with that, though.

I am dealing with some shit right now but I did just have some free time open up. I'll catch up on this thread eventually.

So we would need even more power then somethings that have barrier buster in the Super Robot Wars games because I am still having a hard time believing a Lambda drive equipped machine would need the Mazinkaiser to use a attack that basically is a god's power being used to damage it at all. The Stoner Sunshine being able to hurt things like the Getter Emperor makes me think it is a level of power far above what is needed to overwhelm Gauron. I however can totally believe it would be easier to do damage with things that would interfere with the barrier even working right so making sure we bring a few exotic units along is fine.

Although on the character page you have the Mazin Power trait giving to ability to penetrate exotic barriers when the pilot's will is high enough so I am wondering how traits would play into it.

[X] Plan: A little exercise never killed anybody.
-[X] On foot.
-[X] Interactions
--[X] The Getter Team.
--[X] Amuro Ray.

August UE 0083
Outskirts of the Forest of Silence, Cephiro

You are Amuro Ray, and you're still kind of trying to process the fact that you're in a magical land, escorting a trio of middle-school girls on a quest to save a princess.

You shake your head to clear your thoughts as you glance toward Ferio in the distance, who is handing a wrapped package to Fuu. You see Umi say something that you can't hear, and Ferio responds. He then takes Fuu's hand and kisses it, causing her to blush. Hayato, who is also watching, gives a low whistle. Ferios gives you and the Getter Team a wave before he heads off in a different direction.

As the girls return, you can't help but crack a joke.

"So, when's the wedding?" You ask. Ryoma elbows you in the side as Fuu blushes and stutters while trying to form a response and Umi glares at you. You hold out your hands in a conciliatory gesture. "Sorry, that was in bad taste."

"Where to, Mokona?" Hikaru asks the little white puffball.

"Puu!" Mokona chirps and turns toward a rocky path that goes down a hill in the distance.

"Good thing we brought hiking gear." Benkei deadpans.

As your group starts walking again, you spare a glance back toward the trio of ships in the air.

Haven't had a good chance to talk to Mira since...wow, since Char tried to drop Axis. Heard she didn't take what Stella revealed well either. Then again, who would? I really need to find time to talk to her.

"Amuro? Amuro-san!" Hikaru's voice snaps you out of your thoughts.

"Sorry, I was lost in my own thoughts. What were you saying?" You ask as you internally wince at your social ineptitude.

"I was just wondering what it's like to be back in the pilot seat, fighting for peace and justice." Hikaru says. Oh no, her eyes are gleaming with admiration. You sigh.

"Honestly? I wish I wasn't." You ignore Hikaru's gasp of surprise as you continue talking. "But right now, it's the only thing I can do to make the world a better place, and no one else is willing to do so."

The girls glance down at the ground in thought at your statement. Ryoma raises an eyebrow at you before shrugging and clapping you on the shoulder.

"If only things back on Earth were as simple as things here in Cephiro." Hikaru muses.

"Have your history classes covered the One Year War, the Gryps Conflict, or the Neo Zeon Wars?" You ask.

"Only the broad strokes, at least at my school." Fuu says. Hikaru and Umi nod in agreement. You sigh in irritation.

"Let me guess, 'The Federation and AEUG were in the right, and Zeon and the Titans were in the wrong.' Is that the broad idea?" You ask.

The girls nod.

"Take it from me, nothing is ever as simple as you think it is. The last war that kind of black-and-white thinking was applicable to was Space War One." You say.

"Amuro's right." Ryoma pipes up. "Yeah, the Dinosaur Empire was wrong to try and invade the surface, but not every one of them was the kind of monster that you see in those films they made about our conflict against them."

Hikaru frowns in thought, while Umi sighs in irritation.

"Ugh, can we not talk philosophy anymore? It's kind of dragging the mood down." She says as she flips her hair to get it out of her face.

"Sorry, guess I've got a lot on my mind." You chuckle.

"Who wouldn't?" Fuu states rhetorically.

The seven of you walk along the path in silence for a few minutes, the only sounds those of the native wildlife and engines of the ships behind you. It is eventually broken when Hikaru turns toward the Getter Team, Ryoma in particular, a gleam you've come to recognize in her eyes.

"Can you teach us how fight better? You were so cool back in the Forest of Silence against Alcyone!" Hikaru gushes.

Ryoma stammers, caught off guard by both the unexpected request and being a subject of admiration.

"Uh, well..."

You put a hand over your mouth to hide the fact that you're snickering. Ryoma regains his composure after a few seconds.

"I'm honestly not sure what we can teach you. You already know kendo Hikaru. Umi knows fencing, and Fuu does archery, right?"

The three of them nod. You unwrap a ration bar and take a bite out of it.

"I mean, the best we can do is be sparing partners with you, maybe make your reaction time better? Don't expect us to go easy on you." Ryoma says in an uncertain tone.

"That would be wonderful! Thank you Nagare-san! You two as well, Jin-san and Kuruma-san!" Hikaru says enthusiastically. The Getter Team turn away in embarrassment.

The girls go ahead a bit as they and Mokona get drawn up in their own conversation. The Getter Team falls in around you as Ryoma flicks you on the arm.

"Thanks for nothing back there, asshole." Ryoma says in a half-serious tone.

"Oh please, you had that well in hand." You say while trying not to sound smug. You take another bite out of your ration bar.

Ryoma rolls his eyes while grinning. You glance toward the horizon.

"Look's like the sun's setting soon. We'd better make camp for the night." You observe.

"You're right about that. Hey, ladies! We're making camp for the night. You can spar with Hayato and I while Amuro and Benkei set up the tent." Ryoma calls out to the girls.

You and Benkei share a look before shrugging and looking for good place to put the tent.

The next day

After breakfast, your group packs up and sets out again along the path to Eterna. As the morning goes by, a sense of uneasiness permeates your being until you can no longer ignore it.

"Yo, Amuro, what's up?" Ryoma asks you.

"I don't think we're alone." You say as you draw the same kind of rifle that Kira Yamato used to great effect against Alcyone's golems.

Ryoma draws his Tomahawk, while Hayato assumes some kind of martial arts stance, and the girls' weapons materialize. Your group assumes a defensive formation and holds it for a few seconds.

The tension is broken when you hear the sound of rustling leaves and snapping branches. You turn toward the noise and see a monstrous-looking wolf charging at you through the brush. You aim and fire a single round at it, blowing off the creature's head. What you hear next is not what you were expecting.

"Murderer! That was my friend!" A young, boyish voice rings out. "I was going after the Magic Knights, but I'm going after YOU first for that, man in white!"

Your newtype senses flare up, and you instinctively duck, barely avoiding a glob of what you assume is some kind of poison. Fuu glances up and shoots an arrow. A demonic-looking creature similar in appearance to an oversized centipede falls out of a tree. The boyish voice screams in rage. You hear more rustling, and see a small horde of monstrous creatures charging at you from the tree line.

You thumb the fire-control on your rifle to full auto and spray bullets into the oncoming mob.

"Now, now, it's not nice bully a nice young boy like that." A lilting, feminine voice that inexplicably seems to have a Kansai accent sounds out.

Suddenly, your vision seems to shift, and you glance around to see hazy outlines in the shape of monsters imposed on top of the figures of the girls and the Getter Team. Fuu clutches her head in pain while Hikaru and Umi start attacking each other. You're about to shout at them to stop when they start yelling at each other.

"Monster! I'll have your head!" Hikaru yells.

"You won't stop us, ugly!" Umi shouts.

Oh wonderful, it seems like they've been hypnotized into believing the other is a monster. Thankfully, the Getter Team doesn't seem to be affected. Hayato shakes Fuu by the shoulders a bit to get her out of her stupor.

"What's the plan?" Ryoma asks as he pushes Hikaru and Umi apart. Hayato jump-kicks a monstrous goat-creature in the head before slicing off one of its horns with his bare hands.

"I think I can see where this...illusionist is. Fuu, come with me! Getter Team, can you protect Hikaru and Umi from those monsters while we go after her?"

Ryoma gives a thumbs up as he embeds his Super Alloy Z tomahawk in the head of a demonic-looking monkey. Hayato nods in affirmation, while Benkei brandishes a club he brought along him.

You and Fuu charge into the tree line. The two of you run into a clearing to see a woman with tan skin, pink hair, and red cape draped around a very skimpy black dancer's outfit dancing. She notices you.

"Ah! Well, I don't know how some of you were able to resist my illusions, but it doesn't matter! I'll get rid of the lot of you and get paid!" The dancer draws a pair of daggers and assumes a fighting stance.

You and Fuu respond by leveling your weapons at her and firing. Despite your newtype senses and Fuu's impeccable aim, she's able to dodge and weave around your bullets and Fuu's arrows with grace.

"I have an idea. Try to distract her!" Fuu says.

You nod before pulling out a flashbang. You pull the pin and throw the grenade at the pink-haired dancer.

"Think fast!" You taunt.

The dancer leaps backward and crosses her arms protectively in front of her chest, which does nothing to shield her eyes from the flashbang. You hear Fuu chant a spell before she unleashes a gust of wind from her palm, sending the dancer crashing into a tree. As the dancer blinks to clear her vision, the two of you walk up and point your weapons at her. Her blue eyes widen as she sees that she's lost before she raises her hands in surrender.

"Well, you got me. Why do you fight so hard protect the other two Magic Knights, girl? You barely even know them." The dancer asks.

"I may not know them very well, but I know enough to care about them. And my name is Fuu." Fuu says a bit testily.

"I guess I can respect that. Well, no point in trying to keep fighting. No amount of money is worth it if I end up getting killed. Name's Caldina, by the way." Caldina winks at the the two of you before standing up and dusting herself off. "Don't worry, I won't try anything funny. In fact, I might be able to get Ascot to back down if you let me try."

"We'll take what we can get. Come on." You jerk your rifle back toward where the others are. Caldina falls in line between you and Fuu.

The three of you arrive to see Umi slapping a young boy you can only assume is Ascot while everyone else looks on.

"You idiot! You get mad at us for killing your monster friends in self-defense, so your response is to send more of them to get revenge? That's just going to get more of them hurt!" Umi berates Ascot. "If you really cared about them like you say you do, you wouldn't treat them like this!"

Ascot's only response is to cry. You're unpleasantly reminded of some of your lowest points during the One Year War. Caldina walks up to Ascot and affectionately pats his head.

"Come on Ascot, honey. We've been beaten, and it wouldn't do to keep fighting, they'd just kill us." Caldina tries to soothe Ascot.

Ascot sniffs before looking up at Umi.

"Why do you fight so hard to protect the other Magic Knights?" He asks.

"Because they're my friends, and I'd do anything to protect them." Umi states. She crosses her arms and bites her lip for a few seconds. "We can be friends too, if you want."

"I-I think I'd like that." Ascot sniffles.

Ascot and Umi have a somewhat awkward handshake.

Caldina wraps her arms around Ascot's shoulders.

"Well, I think it's time we left. Don't worry, we won't try to kill you again. No amount of money Zagato can offer would be worth it. Oh, and you're almost to Eterna! It's just past that valley." Caldina points to the valley in question in the the distance. "Okay then, see you later!"

Your group waves goodbye to Caldina and Ascot as they depart.

After a few minutes of contemplative silence, Ryoma speaks up.

"You wanna stay on one of the ships tonight?" He asks the girls.

"Yeah...I think we'd all like that." Hikaru says tiredly.

The next day

It had been decided to fly the rest of the way to Eterna, as the distance was practically negligible at that point. As you and Ryoma step off the shuttle with the girls, you notice something odd. There's a solid line floating in midair a short distance away.

"What the...?" You mutter out loud.

"Puu!" Mokona chirps as he hops on top of a large rock. Hikaru chases after him, and does a double take as she glances down.

"Guys, come up here, you have to see this!" Hikaru shouts down at you.

You and the rest of the group clamber atop the rock.

"That wasn't there before!" You say in shock as you look down at a spring of water.

"No, I think it was always there." Fuu says as she adjusts her glasses.

At the sight of your raised eyebrow, she elaborates.

"The spring is two-dimensional-you can see it from above, but from the side, it just looks like a line."

You sigh in exasperation.

"Ah, what the hell, this is a magical land, anyway." You pinch the bridge of your nose.

A sudden chill in the air is the only warning you have before you see a salvo of icicles bearing down on your position. You grab Fuu and duck, Ryoma doing the same for Hikaru and Umi, the icicles passing over your group.

"Curse you, interlopers from the world of the Magic Knights! As Caldina and Ascot have failed in their duties, it falls to me, Alcyone, to dispose of the lot of you!" Alcyone's voice rings out from somewhere around the spring.

A few seconds later, you hear and feel a large rumbling. You glance around to see enormous golems the size of a Zaku II and monstrous, canine creatures easily the size of a ZAFT BuCUE emerge. You hear a chirp and see Mokona jump into the spring. Ryoma jerks his head up in alarm, and you hear a crackling sound in the air. You look up to see Dimensional Distortions in the air. Some of them fade away to reveal Council mobile weapons, while others grow in size, presumably to discharge larger machines.

"Go!" You say urgently.

"What about you?" Hikaru asks.

"We can handle this, we're not alone, after all!" You respond.

The girls nod before they jump into the spring after Mokona. The shuttle that dropped your group off earlier swings around to pick you up and spirit you back to the ships.

TRANSDIMENSIONAL ASSISTANCE

Aura Battle Dunbine, the Ikaruga, and Tzendlog will deploy at the start of combat. They will not take commands, and act at the discretion of the GM.

What will be your strategy?

[ ] Hello, I am above the water
-Have Getter Robo, the Londo Bell Unit, the Strike, and Uruz Squad defend the spring from Alcyone's forces.
-Everyone else will defend the ships from Council forces.
-Jeeg Team and Build Angels will be kept in reserve for when Jama Kingdom forces deploy.

[ ] Seek and Destroy
-Have Uruz Squad, Gundam Kyrios, Gundam Deathscythe, Shenglong Gundam, and Getter Robo search the surrounding area for Alcyone
-Generic forces will defend the spring from Alcyone's forces
-Everyone else will defend the ships from Alcyone's forces

[ ] Write-in
-Please specify, at bare minimum, who will defend the spring, and who will defend the ships.

A/N: Yes, I'm salty that SRW T completely cut the fountain scenes from Magic Knight Rayearth. You will see those in the next update. Please discuss, vote, and give constructive criticism!

I'm here for more Rayearth content. Now then... Search and Destroy sounds tempting, but gods only know what the council forces will deploy.
I feel good about the incoming assistance doing the searching-in-force for Alcyone, call it a hunch. With that in mind

[X] Hello, I am above the water

Maybe if we're lucky some of the assorted enemies will fight each other? The Council forces might try and grief us if we try and take out Alcyone early.

[X] Hello, I am above the water

[X] Hello, I am above the water

Don't see any problem with this, we are in for a fight sure, but at least we have good units.

Well this has been a fun read!

But...uh, Implications about the Council are quite worrying. Since, apparently, they massacred everything from GaoGaiGar to Knights and Magic. GaoGaiGar is worrying because that is some very serious power, Knights and Magic is worrying because there's no way for K&M to co-exist, so the Council likely hunted down a lot more dimensions than we know, greatly increasing their scale and reach.

...And i'm very sad that you've killed off two of my more liked series here...

[X] Hello, I am above the water

August UE 0083
Spring of Eterna, Cephiro

You are Kamille Bidan, and you have just launched the Zeta Gundam from the Ra Cailum.

"Form up! Don't let any of the hostiles into the spring!" Amuro yells as everyone except the Jeeg Team and the Build Angels deploy.

You, Amuro, Fa, Judau, Roux, the Getter Team, Uruz Squad, and Kira Yamato in the Sword Strike assume a defensive formation around the Spring of Eterna. From your angle of view, you can see the depth of the spring, but lowering the Zeta's head slightly causes it to abruptly look a flat line. You're not even going to try to parse the physics behind that.

"Ah, great, here they come!" Mu La Flaga says.

You look toward the skies to see the Council forces, a mix of Fishbowls, CQC specialists, and a pair of Big Horns charge at the ships. Before they can close the distance to the allied defense line, you detect a pair of Dimensional Distortions. At the same time, a pair of bright blue orbs appear, one in the air, and one on the ground. They shatter in a bright light, and when it fades, you see three mobile weapons appear, one in the air and two on the ground. The one in the air is lavender with a vaguely insectoid appearance and wings that match the aesthetic. It's brandishing an oversized medieval style sword, and has a wrist-mounted cannon of some kind on its left arm. As for the ones on the ground, one of them is bright blue with gold accents. It's wielding a pair of oddly shaped swords in both hands, and you can see two other pairs of extra arms folded into its back. The other machine on the ground is in the shape of a centaur and colored green. It has an oversized lance in one hand and a medieval style shield in the other.

The insectoid machine turns toward the ground, and what you assume to be the pilot's voice starts speaking.

"Ernie, help me with the Council forces targeting the ships. Ady, Kid, you help the ground team defend the spring!"

"Roger that!" A young, boyish voice responds.

The blue machine ignites thrusters you hadn't seen before and joins its insectoid compatriot in the air while the centaur machine takes up a position beside your group, lance at the ready.

"Interlopers! Do not think you can butt in to my affairs so easily!" Alcyone yells in the distance.

An enormous icicle smashes into one of the Fishbowls, skewering it and causing it to fall out of the air. In response, some of the Council machines peel off and head toward a distant point in the surrounding forest. At the same time, the creatures that Alcyone summoned charge the spring. Before any of you can react, the centaur machine charges forward.

Tzendolg vs Golems and Shadow Wolves
Kid charges the golem in the front
Chain Attack! The Tzendolg charges forward to attack a Shadow Wolf
vs Golem
Armor DC 17 = 7 Ability + 10 Armor
1d10 + 10 Ability
Roll 8
8 + 10 = 18
vs Shadow Wolf
Mobility DC 17 = 7 Ability + 10 Mobility
1d10 + 10 Ability
Roll 4
4 + 10 = 14
The Shadow Wolf attempts to swipe at the Tzendolg as it passes
vs
Mobility DC 17 = 10 Ability + 7 Mobility
Roll 1d10 + 7 Ability
Roll 7
7 + 7 = 14

Result: One golem takes moderate damage, the Tzendolg takes no damage

The green centaur machine raises its lance as it gallops full speed at the enemy creatures. The golem in front is too slow to even consider dodging, and the lance pierces it through the abdomen, tearing out a chunk of its lower torso. The centaur machine keeps going, jabbing its weapon at one of the enormous wolves that Alcyone summoned. The wolf is able to dodge out of the way before taking a swipe of its own at the quadruped machine, which simply leaps into the air to avoid it, making a sharp U-turn on landing back toward your defense line.

"Fire at will!" Amuro commands.

Mass attack: Roll 5d6 for damage done to enemy group, rolls of 5 or 6 count as a full success, rolls of four count as a moderate success
4, 2, 6, 1, 6
1 moderate success, 2 full successes
Result: 3 enemies are destroyed, and 1 is moderately damaged

You, Fa, Amuro, Judau, and Roux raise your beam rifles and fire them at the incoming horde of fantasy creatures. The damaged golem in front disintegrates as Amuro's shot hits it in the center of mass. The round keeps going, hitting the wolf behind it in the leg and causing it to stumble. Fa's shot goes wide as the wolf she had been aiming at juking to the side to avoid it. Your shot hits a golem in the torso, leaving a smoking hole in its chest and seemingly killing it as it falls to the ground. Judau and Roux's shots hit another golem in the chest and the waist, respectively, causing it to crumple to the ground.

As the enemies draw closer, Getter-1 hurls its tomahawk at one of the incoming wolves, embedding it into its head. As the wolf in question tumbles across the ground, Kira Yamato in the Sword Strike fires his rocket anchor at one of the golems, dragging it toward him and hefting the Schwert Gewehr anti-ship sword.

Sword Strike vs Golem
vs
Mobility DC 12 = 7 Ability + 5 Mobility
Roll 1d10 + 6 Ability + 2 (7 Will) + 2 (Coordinator)
Roll 2
2 + 6 + 2 + 2 = 12

Result: The golem is damaged, but not destroyed

The golem, too dumb to try and get out of the way, raises its arm in an attempt to block the Sword Strike's anti-ship sword. The sword cuts right through the arm and continues on to embed itself in the golem's torso. The golem thrashes about in an attempt to dislodge the blade, banging the Sword Strike with its remaining arm to no effect due to the Gundam's Phase Shift Armor. Kira opts to kick the golem back to free his blade.

You see a shimmer of light in the distance, which dissipates to reveal the Arbalest as it fires its shotgun at the wolf Amuro's beam round wounded earlier. The wolf snarls as the pellets hit it, and attempts to bite the Arbalest in half. Sosuke leaps backward to evade it, giving Mao the opportunity to empty half a magazine into it while Kurz fires a round from his sniper rifle into its eye. The wolf's head explodes in a dark mist rather than the shower of gore you were expecting, although considering these are magical constructs, you shouldn't be surprised. As some more of Alcyone's constructs gather for another charge at the spring, you spare a glance toward the sky and the battle with the Council forces.

You are Chang Wufei, and if you didn't dislike the Council of the Veil on principle based on what you had been told about them, you certainly do now.

"You tyrants who oppress realities that are not your own, face justice!" You yell over on open frequency from on top of the Archangel.

An enemy CQC machine charges at you, managing to evade the hail of bullets the Archangel's point defense cannons spit at it. A pair of spikes emerge from the holes in the device on its right hand as it moves to attack you.

Shenlong Gundam vs Council CQC mech
CQC mech attacks with dual spike device
vs
Mobility DC 16 = 6 Ability + 7 Mobility + 3 (8 Will)
Roll 1d10 + 9 Ability
Roll 6
6 + 9 = 15
Wufei counterattacks with Shenlong Gundam's Dragon Fang
vs
Armor DC 14 = 9 Ability + 5 Armor
Roll 1d10 + 6 Ability + 3 (8 Will)
Roll 2
2 + 6 + 3 = 11

Result: No one takes any damage

The enemy's attack is so badly telegraphed that you have to stifle a laugh as Nataku sidesteps around the enemy machine. With your opponent so close in, it's not the best idea to use your beam glaive, so you instead fire Nataku's Dragon Fang at the enemy machine. At such close range, it's impossible for it to dodge, and your attack strikes true, or so you think. Aside from knocking it back and a cosmetic scuff mark, you don't seem to have done any damage to the Council mech as it turns to face you.

View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IOnLJGMc-8c

Before the oppressor can capitalize on its advantage, however, the insectoid machine from earlier charges at it with its sword.

"Show them who's boss, Show! Aura Slash!" An annoyingly chipper female voice calls out from inside the insectoid machine.

"Come on, Dunbine, don't fail me now!" Show yells.

The Dunbine raises its sword, which is now glowing with a pink aura, and brings it down on the enemy machine in a vicious slash. The Council CQC machine raises its arm in an attempt to guard, only for the sword to cleave right through it and its torso, cutting it in half. The Dunbine kicks what's left of the enemy machine away from the Archangel, where it explodes relatively harmlessly.

In the distance, you see the blue and gold machine fly about, firing beams of what you assume are magical energy from its swords at the Council machines. The Aestivalis of the Nadesico flit about in air frames, firing rifles and missiles. It's utter chaos.

"Do we have any way to verify the status of the Magic Knights?" You ask the ship captains.

"Unfortunately not. We'll just have to have faith that they'll be all right." Captain Noa responds.

You scoff as Mu in the Launcher Grasper flies overhead, spearing a pair of Fishbowls with its Agni beam cannon.

We have to put our faith into a bunch of little girls? There's a reason I don't kill bleeding hearts or women. You think to yourself as you torch a CQC machine with Nataku's flamethrowers.

Eterna (?)

Hikaru sees her pet dog Hikari before her. She spreads her arms joyfully to embrace him, only for Hikari to snarl and charge at her.

Umi sees her parents before and smiles, but it quickly fades when her mother snaps her fingers with a wicked grin, shooting a disc of magical energy at her.

Fuu sees herself with a twisted smile. She immediately raises her bow in alarm and nocks an arrow into it, her copy doing the same, her deranged expression unchanging.

In separate corners of the Spring of Eterna, the Magic Knights fight images of their loved ones, and cannot bring themselves to hurt them. The same cannot be said for what they face.

You are Soma Peries, and you feel like your life is spiraling out of your control.

First, you and your teammates were sucked into what is apparently a magical realm of some kind.

Then, a chance meeting with one of Celestial Being's Gundam pilots awakened memories you didn't know you lost, extremely traumatic memories, at that. The Gundam pilot, one Allelujah Haptism, claims to be a childhood friend of yours from that trying time, and insists on calling you Marie Parfacy for some reason. For some unfathomable reason, you find him attractive.

And now, you're fighting enemies from what is apparently an interdimensional empire who have a bone to pick with the Silver Bulwark for reasons you don't quite recall at the moment.

You'd slap yourself awake if Sergei hadn't stopped you and assured you that this is, in fact, very much real.

You are painfully reminded of this as you dodge a beam round one of the Fishbowls fires at you. You fire your Tieran Taozi's cannon at it in response, coring the enemy machine. A Council CQC machine blindsides you and starts pounding your machine with its knuckle dusters.

CQC machine attempts to pulverize the Tieren Taozi
Soma uses FOCUS
vs
Armor DC 15 = 6 Ability + 2 (Focus) + 4 Armor + 3 (8 Will)
Roll 1d10 + 9 Ability
Roll 8
8 + 9 = 17

Result: The Tieren Taozi takes massive damage (1000/4000 HP), but manages to shake off the enemy

The enemy CQC machine delivers a series of hammer blows to your mobile suit. You attempt to maneuver the armor plates on your machine's left shoulder to absorb the worst of the blows, but that quickly proves futile as the Council mech puts several dents in that before tearing it off wholesale and continuing to punch you.

"GET OFF ME!" You yell as you make the Tieren Taozi shake like a dog in an attempt to throw off the Council machine, which actually works.

"MARIE!" Allelujah yells distraughtly over the squad comm. "You bastard! DIE!"

Gundam Kyrios vs Council CQC mech
Kyrios attacks CQC mech with GN Shield Claw
vs
Armor DC 14 = 9 Ability + 5 Armor
Roll 1d10 + 6 Ability + 3 (8 Will) + 3 (Super Soldier)
Roll 6
6 + 6 + 3 + 3 = 18

Result: The CQC mech is destroyed

The Kyrios shifts into its flight mode and charges at the Council machine, shifting back into mobile suit form right in front of it. The enemy pilot has no time to react as the Kyrios' shield unfolds into a claw and grabs it by the torso, extending a needle-like blade from its base into what you assume Allelujah thinks is the enemy machine's cockpit.

"HAHAHAHAHA! SUFFER! SUFFER AND DIE FOR HARMING MARIE!" Allelujah's tone has changed radically as he seems to take a sadistic glee in coring the enemy machine.

The Council machine thrashes about in an attempt to free itself from the Kyrios' grip, only to immediately stop once the blade cuts through an unseen amount of armor. Looks like Allelujah was correct in assuming where the cockpit was.

"Marie, Marie, are you okay?" Alleljuah opens a private channel with you.

"I told you, my name is Soma!" You snap at him.

You glance at your machine's readouts, and a lot of them are in the red. Well this isn't good...

An alert from the Archangel snaps you out of your thoughts.

"What now?!" You sigh in exasperation, glancing around to see...what look like oversized clay beasts in the distance.

"Haniwa Phantoms sighted! Jeeg team, requesting permission to launch!"

You suddenly feel an urge to pass out, and silently curse when you don't.

Tactical situation

The Jama Kingdom has appeared. The Jeeg Team and Build Angels are launching to counter them.
All Council Dimensional Distortions have resolved and deployed more enemy forces, including more of everything else, artillery mechs and leaders. Leaders include the Graffiti bot, the 'mobile suit' abomination, and a new leader: a Super Robot that resembles an armored knight.
The Council appears to be searching for Alcyone's position in addition to fighting her forces.
Alcyone's forces are attacking the fountain with smaller numbers due to fighting the Council at the same time.
The allied units brought in by 'the System' are undamaged

What will you do?

[ ] Blitzkreig!
-Advance and attack in both the air and on the ground. Try to overwhelm them while you have the chance.
-Will commit everything, including generic units

[ ] Holding Action
-Maintain defensive formation around the spring with what's already there while sending the the Nemos and Leos to assist with the Haniwa Phantoms.
-Everyone else will defend the ships

[ ] Write-in
-Please specify who will do what. The Jeeg Team and Build Angels will attack the Haniwa Phantoms regardless of what you do.

A/N: And here is the update as promised. Please vote, discuss, and critique!

ick, this is a tough one. A 3 way fight, with a fourth front on the way. No one's really looking to make friends here, and while I doubt the CotV forces will leave the spring alone, I know for a fact if Alcyone's given an inch, she'll take a mile. I don't have a read on our friends with the Haniwa, sadly, so it's a toss-up what they'll prioritize...

Neither play here looks any good to me. A Blitzkrieg leaves the spring and our ships vulnerable, while maintaining our position would allow the CotV to roll over Alcyone, and remove her as a distracting element. We need a plan that will maximize the chaos, get the Haniwa into the mix and bog down the other two, and so much the better if it gives a shot at the Leader Units.

Shame it's so late and my mind is too fried to construct such a thing.

Okay lets see...Alcyone is still missing, we can assume appear at the least convenient time and place.

[X] Plan Split Teams
-[X] Londo Bell, Strike, Kyrios, Deathscythe, Shenlong, Nemo Squad, Leo Squad, and Getter Robo on attack
-[X] Remainder remain in defensive position around spring.

I think that should give us a decent mix of supers and reals on offense/defense, with most of the Gundams on the attack, and the Aestivalis being really good as long as they stick near the Nadesico anyway.

There's a part of me that's worried the CotV forces will try and bum rush the Nadesico to get to Mira. The three Council Leaders are something of a yikes, I admit. I can't quite remember how hard they'll make this fight from their past experiences, and there's a new one to make things interesting.

[X] Plan Split Teams

Luckily this isn't DnD, so we can split the party without much repercutions, besides that is something you do normally on SRW when you have more than 1 enemy faction butting their heads in.
