Well things aren't going that sideways.

but jesus you weren't kidding on needing a high DC roll to not trash the super robot if we needed a nat 10 to even get out without damage with our bonuses.

Also damn, hope you get better about that damn virus.

Also yeah switching to weaponry may be a good idea, specially since next turn we can shoot the rifle again.

Will try to come with a plan in the afternoon, 3 am over here.

Sorry, I have been utterly slammed with several big homework projects all at once. I thought I had put together a vote, but it seems that I haven't.

[X] Indirect barrage
-NERV had already set up missile silos, remote artillery parks, and a system that will let it target the Angel even with the sheer amount of Minovsky interference occurring sometime beforehand, though not for this exact situation
-Each round of combat, a variable amount of this remote artillery will be destroyed by Ramiel, as determined by a roll of 3d20. If the total rolled is greater than 50, enough of the artillery will have been destroyed to render the entire network unusable. Every turn that the check is successfully passed, the threshold decreases by 10.

This one I am pretty sure that we want to do, but as for the question as to how to ahndle things if Rami isn't killed...

That is something that I am just not entirely certain of.
There are 9 Copy Angels remaining
2 Sachiel copies are on the left flank
2 Shamshel copies are on the right flank
3 Shamshel copies and 1 Sachiel copy are in the center
The rear is secure
It has been observed that the Sachiel copies have not used the eye beams or Spears of Light the original had
Mobile Dolls are distracting Ramiel for now
The Shamshel copies will free themselves from the mud next round
EVA-01 will be able to take another shot at the start of the next round

So we've had the Getter stay out of the combat for one round. Perhaps it would be a good idea to bring them in now?

Other than that, I think that we need to have someone focusing on the copies that are around, and there has to be something among all the different abilities that we have that would be able to work in holding our enemy in place, but I just can't put my brain on what that might be.

I mean, Getter is on like half health....

But when have little details like high chance of death ever stopped Getter?

[X] Indirect barrage

Unfortunately, I'm also feeling a little too braindead to puzzle up a more coherent plan. I think sending Getter in to help in the center is a good idea, but I'm also partial to getting reinforcements from the other flanks.

Agh, but then we'd be leaving copy angels to doubleteam the super robots left on the flanks... And I'm confident that they'd also deal terrible terrible damage to anything other than a super robot...

If it was in the game itself it'd be absolutely fine.
Getter's pilots get more badass at low health so you get a super that can actually evade.

[X] Plan Wipe Out The Immobilized First
-[X] Indirect Barrage
-[X] Commit Getter to the center
-[X] Units are to prioritize clearing out the Shamsels before they free themselves

Also finally pried out enough time to go write something up.
Work is unusually terrible lately.

"Hold off on the next wave of Mobile Dolls, use the artillery network!" You hear Captain Katsuragi order over the comm.

You see the flashing lights of reconnaissance planes turn aside up in the air. A split second later, you see a missile barrage that would have made the crew of the SDF-1 jealous erupt from the hills and converge on Ramiel.

Ramiel responds by sweeping a particle beam across the missiles, destroying them before they can impact off the Angel's AT field. There's a flash of light, and you and Yukari glance backwards to see one of the hills with missile silos in it looks like someone fired an oversized shotgun into it. A second later, the hill explodes.

A few seconds later, you hear the distinct whistle of artillery shells flying through the air. You turn to see the first salvo sailing through the air toward Ramiel. Most of the shells bounce off the Angel's AT field, detonating as they fall into the surrounding city. There's another flash of light as Ramiel annihilates the remote artillery park that launched the first salvo.

Artillery network integrity check
Roll 3d20-roll greater than 50 will knock out the network
13, 6, 10 = 29
Result: Artillery network retains enough infrastructure to stay intact, threshold lowered to 40 next time it's used

Despite Ramiel periodically vaporizing an artillery park every few seconds, it appears the NERV built so many of them that the Angel is having trouble destroying them quickly. You hope that Shinji will be able to kill Ramiel with his next shot.

You are Shinji Ikari, and you are desperately trying to line up your next shot.

As artillery shells rain down on Ramiel from all directions, you watch the targeting reticle flit about your screen. For some reason, there's an odd green tint around it that you're certain wasn't there before. You'll have to ask Dr. Akagi if the Getter Team's contribution of power has anything to do with that. As the targeting reticle settles on what you hope is the Angel's core this time, it turns so that one of its 'corners' is pointing in your general direction.

Your blood runs cold. Did it notice you charging the positron rifle? You can only hope it doesn't have a fix on your position.

Ramiel vs EVA-01: Sniper Duel
Ramiel attempts to shoot EVA-01 with a high-power particle beam
EVA-01 attempts to shoot Ramiel with a positron beam
Opposed rolls-if the same number is rolled on both dice, the shots will interfere with each other and cause both to miss
Ramiel's roll
vs
Concealment DC 15
1d10 + 8 Ability + 2 (rough idea of angle from being shot) - 4 (Artillery barrage)
Roll 1
1 + 8 + 2 - 4 = 7
EVA-01's roll
vs
DC 14
1d10 + 6 Ability + 2 (Kurz's advice) + 2 (7 Will) + 1 (Will of the Getter)
Roll 3
3 + 6 + 2 + 2 + 1 = 14

Result: Ramiel misses entirely due to a combination of injury and the artillery distracting it, allowing Shinji to snipe the Angel's core

As soon as the system says you have a lock on the Angel's core, you pull the trigger without any hesitation. Ramiel fires at the same time. Although Ramiel's massive pink beam is intimidating, it becomes substantially less scary when you realize its angle is too shallow to hit you. In contrast, your modestly sized green positron beam sails true and spears the rhomboid Angel straight through the corner that it used to fire at you. At first you fear you missed the core again, but then a pained scream issues forth from the Angel, and you see a red fluid resembling blood gush out of its new, fatal wound. A few seconds later, the bright blue cube falls out of the air, dead.

You sit back and let out a sigh of relief.

You are Setsuna F. Seiei, and you are in the process of stabbing one of the copy Shamshels in the face with the GN Sword when it suddenly dissolves into orange liquid.

You see the Gundam Kyrios stumble in the air as its GN shield claw no longer has anything solid to grab onto. You and Allelujah descend just above the surface of this strange liquid, Allelujah dipping the tip of the Kyrios' GN shield claw into the liquid before taking it back out and flicking it away.

You look around and see that all of the other copy Angels have also dissolved into the same orange liquid with the death of Ramiel.

Looks like the battle's over.

Results

Ramiel has been defeated. NERV is dispatching cleanup teams to recover its corpse
EVA-00 and EVA-01 are both fully intact, although Rei Ayanami has expressed disappointment that she didn't have an opportunity to protect Shinji
Shinji's self-confidence seems to have been buoyed by him managing to kill Ramiel with his second shot

A/N: Some may call this an anticlimax, but it honestly couldn't have gone better for you. If Ramiel hadn't kwabbed his roll, Rei would have blocked the shot with her shield. Anyway, please discuss and critique. The rest of the turn will be up either later tonight or tomorrow.

LMAO the dice gods really hated Ramiel this update and hey I stand corrected, had we not recharged the rifle with the getter rays this would have probably ended up on a worse state, I cannot believe I forgot to believe in getter, well as long as we don't do it to much that it ends up on emperor future we are fine.

No losses outside unmanned units and the getter getting some damage

And like I said Shinji doesn't get to swallow in self guilt since Rei didn't had to take a shot for him, besides original 1st turn kill needed a nat 10 so good on you Shinji

BELIEVE IN GETTER!

In all due seriousness, I'm very glad we managed to deal with Ramiel so painlessly. Rei can scratch her self sacrifice itch another day.

Though, uh, yeah Shinji probably has the right idea that we should get that rifle checked out... If I recall correctly, Getter rays are very helpful until they aren't...

Turn 7: Making a Plan Come Together
August UE 0083
Okinawa Naval Base, Japan

You are Sosuke Sagara, and you're currently trying to find something to do with Chidori.

Unfortunately, being on a military base means that the things you're interested in doing and the things she's interested in doing don't really intersect.

And so, you find yourself wandering the base, partially to avoid Chidori, and partially to find something to do together with her. You turn the corner and see Heero Yuy talking with Setsuna F. Seiei. The two Gundam pilots turn to face you.

"..."

"..."

"..."

The silent, wordless communication persists for a few more seconds.

"I'm trying to find something to do with Chidori. Either of you have any ideas?" You eventually ask.

Heero and Setsuna share a glance.

"You're on your own for this Yuy." Setsuna says before walking off.

VOTE BY PLAN

Personal Actions (Pick TWO)

[X] (Mandatory Action) You've been informed that Stella Loussier has surfaced and is currently in the care of Celestial Being. She's eager to meet and talk with you. Hopefully you'll be able to get some answers from her.

[ ] Check on the Evangelion pilots
-Shinji Ikari seems to be in somewhat high spirits after defeating Ramiel. It wouldn't hurt to check on him and Rei Ayanami.

[ ] Bond with a copilot
-[ ] Yukari
-[ ] Lucia
-[ ] Nina

Socialize with another pilot group (You may pick this action twice)
-[ ] Colony Gundam Pilots (All five)
-[ ] Getter Team
-[ ] Kouji Kabuto
-[ ] Uruz Squad and Kaname Chidori
-[ ] Combattler Team
-[ ] Voltes Team
-[ ] Kazuya Ryuuzaki
-[ ] Black Knights
-[ ] Celestial Being

Politics/Intrigue (Pick THREE)

[ ] It's just politics
-Dorothy Catalonia is afraid for the safety of Relena Darlian. According to her, Relena is getting restless, and is planning to host some kind of press conference. Maybe Zechs and Heero can persuade her not to go through with it, or at least do damage control.

[ ] Spare NERVs
-NERV has informed the Solar Vanguard that Evangelion Unit-02 is almost complete, and will be shipped from Germany to Japan when it is. They're worried that Neo-Zeon Remnants or some other terrorist group will make an attempt to steal EVA-02 before it's complete. Maybe you can put NERV's fears to rest by handling security?

[ ] Medical Studies
-A cursory medical exam of Stella Loussier has some of the people in intelligence worried, as the enhancements she's received has some similarities to experiments Blue Cosmos is rumored to be performing. Look into it and see what ECOAS can find.

[ ] Metal Armor Gradient
-Giganos has stepped up its activities in Central Asia. Investigate and see what they're up to.

[ ] No Men are created Equal
-Marrybel and Cornelia think that Prince Clovis might be able to give them a lead. Send someone over to accompany them and make sure nothing bad happens.

Mandatory Event

The Blue Hole

A massive Dimensional Distortion has appeared directly above Tokyo Tower. However, Nergal has determined that it is different from the Distortions that herald the arrival of Council forces. You've been ordered to investigate it.

A/N: Light on choices (and descriptions) because of the mandatory events this turn. Please vote and discuss!

[X] Plan: getting the scoop and playing bodyguard.
-[X] Check on the Evangelion pilots
-[X] Socialize with.
--[X] Kouji Kabuto
-[X] Spare NERVs
-[X] Medical Studies
-[X] No Men are created Equal

Well here is my vote.

Checking on Shinji and Rei since well, shinji really needs the support if we want to avoid an EVA bad ending, besides we will be getting Asuka soon so better prepare his self steem for the red head tsundere.

As for socializing, Kouji did want to give us the scoop about how he got Mazinkaiser after the angel fight.

As for the political events.

I doubt we can do much about Relena, even choice says that even with Heero and Zech talking her down she may still do it.

Chose the nerv scenario since that may give us an early meeting with Asuka and well I just want to see neo zeon pulling their stunts of trying to steal over 20 foot tall robots and failing at it, man the intro scenario of combattler v on 30 was funny and well we will be seeing gundam unicorn events later down the line and tbh this reeks for a full frontal appareance maybe, zeon trying to steal a red machine? yeah we have the 1 in 1 million chance of seeing the 2nd coming of the red comet.

Medical studies gives us more insight to what shenanigans are going with blue cosmos which may give us ammo againts them and tell us of threats we may face.

On giganos tbh the dragonar team can handle themselves alone, then again the last time I saw stuff related to dragonar was A portable.

Finally may as well try to make sure we can get some more britannian on our side iirc Clovis wasn't that bad of a guy before the Japan takeover.

First question - For the pick two, we have this mandatory action, so does that mean that we only have the one action? Or is that one not counting?

The mandatory action does not count. Also, @Aron593, you'll have to dump one of the socialization actions, 'you can pick this twice' means you can pick it twice taking two actions, not that you can pick it twice as one action.

[X][Plan] Don't lose your NERV young man

But Mr "I Am Gundam," did bail on Heero the minute Sosuke asked them an awkward question. I've heard people call such moves uncool at the very least.

To be fair, Heero is the only one out of the two of them who could be considered to have an inkling of experience with romance, given his relationship with Relena. Setsuna doesn't even have that much, since Feldt isn't crushing on him yet.

Lunaryon's plan is winning by a single vote (also it's not properly formatted). If you have opinions on what to do, discuss and vote for it. Also, I'm surprised by how often you people keep matrix dodging opportunities to talk with the Wing cast after expressing interest in at least finding out why they're working with Treize.
