Super Robot Quest G

So to address Yukimura's concerns re: K-Class, it seems pretty much... not inert, it's too integral to our tech to be inert, but benign so long as it isn't hooked up to Kaiju-based neural matter. The only thing it really seems to do is obey the orders of whatever will it's hooked up to, and with our tech that means it obeys the pilots. Well, or maybe the Super Robots themselves; they're showing significant self-awareness for a bunch of prototypes that were never intended to be intelligent.

...Wonder if there's a way to apply an IQ and/or Turing Test to the Perseus without the pilots contaminating the results.

And gotta say, I saw this sort of reaction coming; if I was an outsider just finding out that somebody's stuffing their Super Robots with kaiju bits I'd be more than a little concerned too.

edit: Random thought on how Yukimura's first meeting with Zulu could go:

Rin: Ummm, Major? There's a Kausen loose in your base.
Devin: Hm? (follows Rin's eyes) Oh, that's just Zulu. Prisoner of war, defected in exchange for better living conditions. He's especially pleased with the lack of summary execution.
Rin: ...Well, that answers more than a few questions.

Don't remember if he knows about Galbinus yet, but assuming not for purposes of this mini-omake.

- Lightning organ -> Electrical power + stronger Arc-weaponry
- Brain-matter -> Understanding Sheol's neural interface. Sam will definitely get a lot out of understanding exactly how Sheol commands his creatures, and while we may not implement any similar interfaces (since we don't want to risk K-scale turning on us or Sheol to hijack our bots), we could maybe develop anti-Kaiju countermeasures and disrupt their brains.
- Hind leg w/ skeleton + muscles -> Stronger K-scale superstructure + antigravity treatment = bigger super robots
- Fire glands -> Thermal power + stronger Inferno mode
- Pouch sections -> Additional carrying capacity for custom gunships/drone weaponry. Carriers were a force-multiplier for a reason
- Wings -> Air maneuverability. The Seekers, the gunships, and whatever we make out of the last Saddle helicopter will appreciate that.

We still haven't gotten to the full meat of the Kaiju horn, so we can forgo additional weaponry for now. Let's get some insight into how these brutes actually tick.

And let's hope Sam's expertise in psi-tech can keep our Kaiju-material mechs from becoming Kaiju, or worse yet, hijackable by Sheol. Moreover, I don't know what Ozawa reported back to Sheol about what our mechs could be made of, and if anyone can find a way to neutralise his own super-flesh, it's him.

...Honestly. Part of our thing is a hodgepoge of basically whatever tech we got our hands on. We did incorporate Kausian tech, Kaiju Tech, recently Psychic Theatre, and are possibly gonna incorporate super robot magical girl tech at some point.

Perseus specifically has psychic theatre in play, but also incorporates 'the heart' of kausians, in the form of their reactor tech alongside K-scale parts. Which might be bringing interesting reactions, and may hae been a key part of us not getting burnt by using K-tech.

We don't have any tech from the Westphalians, Mostly because what they have is stuff we already have and theirs is more hodgepodge cram things together until they work. The closest would be the Pilum of Warlords that we salvaged.

question time. Who are we sending to deal with the Blue September op? If I remember correctly we're sending Jessica and the Thunderbolt. I just don't remember what other support elements we're sending. Probably the TMU's or another Seeker squadron if there's one available.

Addendum/reminder: Considering how, again, I'm pretty sure the Pegasus is gonna be down for repairs next turn, I'm expecting us to either need to bum a ride off of Mander, or use a standard dropship (probably the Gagarin again; that one seems to show up all the time).

In either case... we might have issues fitting more than just a Super Robot on board; don't know if the standard dropship's capacity is any different from the dam incident due to rule changes, and I'm pretty sure we've never even seen a Mander transport before so we have no way of knowing if they can even carry anything beyond a disassembled Valiant.

tldr: We should wait to finalize (discussion is fine) our loadout until we know how much we can even bring along. We'd look pretty stupid if we decided to bring a certain squad along only to find out we've got no way to get them there...

Westphalians should have tech of the old world I guess, but they don't. We don't have any old world tech which I think is the last of the starting options tech we don't have a hand in.

We can all agree that Dr. Sheol is a hack who doesn't understand what he's playing with, and so he's using Kaiju source tech in horribly inefficient way.

So, a tech proposal for @Basarin
Kaiju biotech: Why we even have that button?
All Kaiju flesh samples use the same mechanism to trigger their self-destruct. Could it be used to self-destruct Dr. Sheol's biomonsters when we want to?

Of course, after first surprise deployment our opposition will adapt and overcome the problem, but it will be a very nasty surprise when it's used. Especially if we locate his base and use it to skip his defense.

Why would we even want "old world" tech when it is, by definition, obsolete?

And if you're specifically referring to Westphalian tech, we've already seen it, and it is garbage. Our engineers explicitly compared it to our proof-of-concept prototype, from before we even designed the Jackal! So there's nothing there for us either; their only remotely interesting tech is their boss units, and the last one we saw (and the most commonly-deployed one, from enemy chatter) is a literal walking scrap heap with whatever weapons catch their eye installed (the most recent incarnation using Kausen weaponry, admittedly, but we've already got that from Bandit).

The Westaphalian Tech Options are more, what can we do with cutting edge conventionals. The Westie Tech Motto is throw more money and manpower at the issue. So Relatively easy to Reverse Engineer and use, but unless they picked up some Xenotech or something elsewhere, nothing special.

I fear that due to recent cooperation we will see Westphalian stuff with Kaiju bits grafted to it.

No, no, people are misremembering. The Seperatists are already cooperating with the Kausen. Their boss from the fight last thread had a superweapon that was quite literally, we welded three of the alien guns together now lets see what blows up first!

You can certainly try that as a write-in option. By now Sam and his team have a pretty decent grasp on biotechnology to take a swing at it.

As you point out though it may not be a long-lasting solution. EVERYONE is in a tech tree race after all.

Would it be possible to offer an AI assistant to the other two good guy factions. They might be able to make good use of having such an assistant. and be able to liaise with each other during times of high simultaneous combat.
