Super Robot Quest G

] Some of the organs that seemed responsible for the lightning breath were able to be salvaged. Even while being frozen, there is a lot of static charge building up...

Arc Weapon Upgrades, seems pretty straightforward and almost instantly usable

-[] The 'cockpit' of the Olympic-class was detonated by its pilot, but bits of brain matter were still semi-frozen. Sam might be able to make some use of it - if nothing else, to study the command and control 'structure' of the kaiju.

Intel on how Sheol is operating, possible psychic control Shenanigans?

-[] The entire hind leg of the Olympic was still miraculously intact. Who knows what monstrous new invention Sam could concoct out of a full analysis of the kaiju skeletal and muscular structure of a limb?

Frame Upgrades, possibly moving from Machine with Flesh bits to full on Cyborg

-[] Teeth. Lots and lots of teeth were knocked out, and there's enough that we might be able to salvage them. Diana isn't sure what Sam could do with these, but...

Weaponry, I vaguely remember Sam working on K-Class Ammo and Fangs sound like a perfect tip.

[] Crocalisks (Pick Two)
-[] The Arc Blade was still wedged in the Crocalisk's throat, and the acidic breakdown had eaten away at most of the blade before the head itself was somewhat severed. The brain looks to be a wash, but the throat - and the fire glands - seem intact.

Fire Upgrades, seems good, maybe some Heat resistant tech?

-[] Chunks of the Crocalisk's hide and scales were mostly intact enough to contain into freeze containment units. Diana is convinced those hollowed sections were where the Pterawings were 'carried' on - she's pretty sure Sam wouldn't mind getting a look at it.

Armor and potentially Carrier Tech, very interested

-[] Claws - not quite the whole thing but enough pieced together from the two of them - could be salvaged. If past patterns are anything, they might be able to work some weaponry out of it.

See Fangs.

Pterawings (Pick One) -[] There is very little of the Pterawings left. But there's enough samples of the wings available to collect and study. How could something so large be easily kept airborne?

Biological Flight, maybe another anti-grav tech? High tensile strength muscle?

-[] Grisly as it is, the rocket pod analogues - the 'spike launchers' based on the clawed feet - were salvaged. The Build Team might be able to fashion some projectiles out of this with some study...

More Bio-Weapons, potentially useful but.... eh not feeling it.

If we want to upgrade our dropships further then we need that hide sample.

Its purpose built for the kind of tactics we want to leverage the Seekers with

I'm not happy about losing the teeth in the plan but the wings might be more important that we think right now. That person that was piloting the large Kaiju escaped the area and broke the sound barrier during the escape. The wings from the Ptera birds might be the same thing that person used. so That intelligence might be critical for any future fights with her.

The teeth and claws seem like they be useful as a base improvement to work off of: improved grip in hazardous terrain, better grapple, pin bonuses, that kind of thing. The sort of thing where the Super-gear translates well to improved Standard-issue or mundane Specialist equipment.
For those unaware of the various Cherno Alpha quests, pin-bonuses can be amazing when specialized into.

Y'know, I really hope we can get the Pegasus back into working order in time for the next mission. Hopefully the repairs won't take long and we can send the Pegasus back out. This time to help with that Westphalian op. I'm actually not worried about the attack on the base if there is one. we have Galbinus and his group next door and they probably will help if we ask them.

An excellent bit of aftermath, and no mistake. I look forward to seeing Dr Yukimura's response to direct exposure to the sheer insanity that is the DFRI, not least because his semi-estranged nephew is working there. Actually, that's going to be interesting because as I recall the big reason for that estrangement was a lack of proactiveness on Dr Yukimura's part, and with Sheol escalating like this? That's going to be much more important.

Now, for a general look at our delicious looted salvage voting options!

First of all we already have quite a bit of research options laying in wait, so while all of these shinies are absolutely delightful, we do have to consider that we're already working on properly developing K-Fang weaponry as is, not to mention properly refining Faedium to enhance our power systems and figure out how to make even bigger gestalt Combiners. Thus, going forward I think we should keep in mind potential synergies or general utility beyond 'We can make this to augment the Super Robot!' That's an important point to keep in mind, but lets see how many ducks we can get in a row, yes?

[] Olympic (Pick Three)
-[] Some of the organs that seemed responsible for the lightning breath were able to be salvaged. Even while being frozen, there is a lot of static charge building up...
The benefits of this are pretty straightforward. Beyond the specific potential synergy with the Spark Calibre system or other energy benefits, this is a powerful energy projection organ that we could hopefully leverage to assist with any form of Energy Tech, whether that be our own projection weaponry or more generic power issues.

-[] The 'cockpit' of the Olympic-class was detonated by its pilot, but bits of brain matter were still semi-frozen. Sam might be able to make some use of it - if nothing else, to study the command and control 'structure' of the kaiju.
Now this is something of a devil's bargain I think. On the one hand, further information on the direct functionality of Kaiju mentality and programming is incredibly useful. On the other hand, if we try and integrate that with any of our projects it's just asking for Old George to take advantage of us. Especially given this particular type of K-Class Matter was designed for Command and Control. The Scales or Fangs are hard to really order around once their self destruct is defused, but brain matter? Likely a different story there. Still, from the perspective of doing the research and then not integrating it? This is still very nice. Plus, if we do decide to use the ill-omened stuff, then it probably would help with Psychic development and/or Gestalt Combination, given the way Ozawa was controlling all her minions and all.

-[] The entire hind leg of the Olympic was still miraculously intact. Who knows what monstrous new invention Sam could concoct out of a full analysis of the kaiju skeletal and muscular structure of a limb?
Now this one? This one I LIKE. Mostly because it's a tremendous benefit to A) Understanding how Kaiju are put together, and B) potentially discovering new metamaterials or weird physics effects derived from how the Kaiju function at that size. We're already working towards that end with the second generation of K-Scale internals we recently developed, and this can only help refine that technology further. I think, an road. Plus, a fully intact skeletal and muscular structure includes muscles and bone and those are going to be killer for Super Robot development in general!

-[] Teeth. Lots and lots of teeth were knocked out, and there's enough that we might be able to salvage them. Diana isn't sure what Sam could do with these, but...
This one is less immediately shiny than the other Olympic options, but it's no less potentially useful. While the DFRI already has K-Fang Class material, it's not quite the same thing. These aren't Acid based for one thing, but they might potentially be able to bridge the gap between the two types of K-Class Materials that are already extant. Like the K-Scale Class material, this stuff is designed for sturdiness and resilience, and like the K-Fang Class material it's designed for attack rather than defense. Studying it thus might pay some synergistic dividends, if we're very lucky. Still, I think this is the one I'd drop since we can only get 3/4 of these options. It's got potential, but I like it the least. :p

Second verse same as the first, at least referring to those Lightning Glands from the Olympic. The throat itself would likely help with the Beowulf's Shining Finger, er... Fire Fist weaponry, as it's designed to work around Fire and thus would help with figuring out how to make things hotter and more able to withstand fire.

-[] Chunks of the Crocalisk's hide and scales were mostly intact enough to contain into freeze containment units. Diana is convinced those hollowed sections were where the Pterawings were 'carried' on - she's pretty sure Sam wouldn't mind getting a look at it.
Now this bit is potentially useful for figuring out integration. We've already got a bunch of K-Scale, it's our primary claim to Super Robot Kaiju Fame, but more samples will likely help refine the DFRI's understanding of it, and potentially assist in armament development. The latter comes in from the Pterawing carrying, because that has potential for either storing weaponry or, if applied to a dropship? Raising its carrying limit.

-[] Claws - not quite the whole thing but enough pieced together from the two of them - could be salvaged. If past patterns are anything, they might be able to work some weaponry out of it.
Claws! This looks like similar potential benefits to the Olympic's teeth as I outlined above, and frankly I'm not super invested in this either? We have enough Weapon R&D targets to be getting on with just now. Still, there's potential here as in everything!

[] Pterawings (Pick One)
-[] There is very little of the Pterawings left. But there's enough samples of the wings available to collect and study. How could something so large be easily kept airborne?
Now, of these two options this is the one I want. I want to know how these bastard things could fly, not least because a new way to tell Gravity to go hang helps a lot for Super Robot deployment on both a strategic and tactical level. More mass in the air means it can carry more and travel faster, and means that we can have giant flying fighting robots! Hopefully. We'll see what we can figure out.

-[] Grisly as it is, the rocket pod analogues - the 'spike launchers' based on the clawed feet - were salvaged. The Build Team might be able to fashion some projectiles out of this with some study...
While there is of course utility here, in the form of Kaiju based projectile weaponry for future R&D, I have to say it's the option I'm least interested in. It already takes a fair bit of time and energy to cultivate K-Class material, and if we're going to be doing that, I don't want to be doing it for gunnery options as well as internals, y'know? Still, having something like this would definitely suprise the hell out of anyone facing it. Tyrannous or the Red King would not enjoy a face full of exploding Kaiju Bits, and I think Old George might flip his lid if we made this a bit of viable combat kit. Most K-Class technology is internal, after all, but directly and obviously repurposing his glorious creations? Miiight get the DFRI moved up the hitlist a bit.

Anyway, that's my buck fifty. I'd say Two Cents, but at over a thousand words and with inflation? It's probably worth a bit more than that. :p

[X]Plan: By the Elements Combined!

Yeah honestly the claws, teeth, and missile pods aren't that appealing considering the weapons we already have. As this fight showed we need more long range weapons, a better understanding of how our enemies thinks, and also more mobility.

Love the fact that Mercury V uses ice weapons, really helps us out when it comes to K-tech research samples.

Honestly the most appealing thing aside from the Olympic brain is the leg.

High quality muscular support for the mechs would be amazing!

I still want to comb through the tech we got from the Reagent
Look at it this way: I'm pretty sure we have at least one scientist specifically dedicated to doing exactly that (Max, our xenotech expert; possibly Zulu, her ex-Free Brother drone assistant, too).

Sam, on the other hand, is no good at xenotech, so we can safely assign him to K-Class research as soon as... whatever he's currently working on finishes.

There's no problem with assigning actions to other projects if those actions only work on those other projects, right?
