Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

BTW, we really should grab Qiao of the Meng while Div is here; primary consumable resource for Paths is Willpower, and Qiao of the Meng has best Willpower recovery power in all of oWoD, outcompeted only by some stuff found in E2.

Prolly not this turn, but, just. We shouldn't forget about it.

Jesus Christ Charity, was that cult you were a part of Gurren Lagann or something?

If exaltations were roaming in the wild I feel like one of the multiple times she's matched or outright won social combat against an infernal would have netted her a noon caste solar exaltation.

We aren't actually anywhere near what is considered to be Infernal "Social build", so that is a bit less of an achievement than it looks like.

Those rolls are still absolutely fantastic, though. As expected from Charity, lol

She still got multiple legendary successes, even if we aren't a social build we still came in with an active difficulty modifier and social excellency. Something that turned out to be necessary to avoid getting crushed.

Imagine trying to argue with Charity using the dice pools of a mundane kid. I wouldn't be surprised if Molly is more impressed by her exaltation's ability to win fights with her mother than anything else it lets her do.

Edit:

Is anyone else tempted to build a hypothetical noon!Charity, just to see what sort of horrific social blender the black vault could hypothetically curse bless us with?

Total 6/6AP

RATIONALE
-Masterworks for Money because some of our plans will potentially need money to fund them, like Rosie and the Dragon's Nest.
It provides plot justification for setting up her own legal and accounting teams.
And potentially contact with Thomas.

-Dreaming True because we need to see to helping Rosie, and thats the most pressing issue atm for a newly Awakened Talent.
We dont need to talk to her mother until our Empathy is 4 or higher.
And the conversation about giving the child for adoption doesnt become an issue until closer to birth..

-Look into the Minor Talents of Chicago at the same time we start the Dragon Nest project.
As evidenced by a Whampire calling Michael to warn him about his daughter, we need to take a hand in shaping our own local reputation before its done for us. This is time-sensitive. And probably synergizes with finding Rosie reading material or a teacher.

Rose of Autumn is more time-sensitive than the Alphas, because we did promise to talk to her after getting back from Cleveland, and the Alphas should be on summer vacation anyway until August ending/early September.

-Bridges of the Spirit is at 9/15. One more AP needed for the first technique to proc.

-Not A Wizard hopefully unlocks sorcery Paths like Alchemy and Fortune, and other similar magic projects.
Especially relevant to us is to find out if we can learn how to use the Sight, even if we have to buy it as a Merit.
Bob is a resource to be cultivated.

And I'm looking forward to Dresden's discomfort when Molly and Bob start throwing innuendo at each other.

-Restoring the Last Station is a longterm job.
Should start on it though.
And it probably unlocks contact with some of the inhabitants of Undertown.

I wanted to try out attempting to transmute gold, but the implication that it might involve radiation suggests we put that off until we have somewhere to test it far away from our home and siblings.
Probably just me being paranoid, but I think its IC for Molly.

We should really restore that station asap nothing major around and it's not wise to leave a favor like that hanging around for along time

Charity's first charm as a Zenith:

enemy-Castigating solar Judgment (••)
The Solar's words burn and sear with righteous truth, laying bare the souls of the enemies of Creation before her sermons.
System: Creatures of darkness suffer a –3 penal- ty to all dice pools to resist the Solar's social rolls and mind-affecting Charms. If they spend Willpower to re- sist or oppose her in any way, they must double the usual Willpower cost to get any benefit from doing so. If one of the Solar's social rolls uses a creature of darkness's Willpower as its difficulty, reduce the difficulty by –3.

Or as she thinks of it: Daughter Defeating Demagoguery.

The easiest way to deal with money issues is by winning a lottery.
According to 2006 POWERBALL vs. MEGA MILLIONS Drawings (Side-by-side) by playing Powerball on August the first (so, URGENT) we can get 180 millions before tax. At least Oklahoma allows for the prize to be claimed in the name of an anonymous trust. So we could arrange a little road trip, buy a ticket there, and we have months to get some attorneys to make a trust in our family's name. Not to forget that the trustee would be acting on our orders and get the benefits of minionhood.

We have been told that there are supernaturals watching for people playing with the financial market.

Personally I think that claims is often vastly overstated. Even if the entire supernatural world was entirely united watching the entire financial market to that extent would be impossible. The stock market is controlled by free will, there are too many gambling houses etc.

However when considering the problem and how I would try and catch people using divination or the like the way that I would go about it is I would set up a tripwire. Like say a lottery I would make it seem anonymous.

You see the point isn't to catch everyone playing finical markets. The point is to loudly catch one every now and then.

Should not a major problem for us even if that theory holds water. We can deal with that. Just thinking.

[X] Foundations of a Nest for Porter
-[X] Dreaming True,
Rosie is going to need help, training to manage her gift eventually, look around for information, books or ideally a teacher
-[X] The Bridges of the Spirit, continue your training with Brother Divsimar in the perilous, powerful arts of his order
-[X] Restoring the Last Station (x3): You promised Porter that you will help restore the Last Station to its former glory, a task what will not be easy or quick even with all your talents, though you are sure it will be rewarding in the end (0/8)
-[X] A Big Score, your Crown isn't really made for picking out random numbers in a mundane draw, but it is still your power so you can push it that one time to win a lottery... any lottery. You will have to find the balance between payout and anonymity and some place to park the money but that seems reasonably doable with some help from mom and dad, and unlike some of your other plans they are unlikely to object to this form of cheating at gambling. WRITE IN: Take Black Rider on a day trip to Oklahoma and buy the winning ticket in a store with no cameras before August the 2nd.

You need patterns for that. A single win made by predicting the result instead of manipulating it is not something you can be certain about, or else you would need even stronger divination.
And what is anonymous is the trust fund that claims the lottery prize. You cannot make that only "seem" anonymous unless you can force the attorneys to talk or, again, have stronger divination.

I think you're getting too caught up in using supernatural tools. A lot of people put an enormous amount of time and effort into monitoring and predicting the various financial systems of the world. All people like the white court have to do is tap into those existing systems and put the information together with their knowledge of the supernatural.

You're also conflating the lottery with stuff like the stock market, which is a mistake.

People care about stock shenanigans because it affects their bottom line, but the lottery payout doesn't really affect their business and can't be gamed to hurt the mortal finance systems. Sure you can steal it, but it's all money that was going to be given away anyway.

The only people we risk alerting are those looking to profit off the lottery itself, not magical financial analysts.

Ehhhhh. I am not sure that's really worth it.

TBH we made an absolute fraction of potential money that we could have made from selling diamonds. We are not really at the peak of our crafting capabilities, either.

Then, after we get Key and Kingdom at E3, we'll gain access to essentially unlimited amount of mundane workhours and material good, which would allow us to generate humongous amount of money with minimal investment.

[] Resurrection from Rust, you could walk into a junkyard and drive out with a car given enough time, though you are not sure how the paperwork for that would work out

Selling would be hard, but as a gift or personal use I don't think that there would be a problem. Well so long as the vehicle registration paperwork is still in the glove compartment.

Of course it would be easiest if we didn't get the rusted car out of a junkyard, but bought a rusted car in someone's driveway. Happens all the time that someone has a car that doesn't work, but can't be bothered to fix it. Might be able to buy it just for the price of hauling it.

In fairness there's only so many diamonds we can sell before someone, probably the IRS, goes "No seriously, where are you getting those diamonds?".

Sure the sale and possession are legitimate, but long term high value transactions like that start to look sketchy when we can't provide a legitimate paper trail prior to our ownership of them. Most people won't care, but tax guys looking for fraud would.

Really refurbished cars is probably a better idea on that scale; we can at least make the books look right even if Molly in particular is a weird person to have her name on them.

I figure we can get one more cycle through fairly risk free, and then use the money to set up a garage to make money on cars and launder our other gains.
