I'm reading list of Charms now, and I've noticed that Gravity-rebuking Grace not only gives flight for 1 essence, but also can run on leaves, drops of rain, etc for free.
Although it's more costly (8 XP)... oh, and duration is "Essence rating in turns", not a scene.
 
@DragonParadox can we censor the part that depicts Neverborn's name and take only a partial picture of the circle? And do we still remember how to write individual symbols in Old Realm? I just need a focus for the crown

Lydia is an exigent, she is Exalted-light mechanically, roughly no par with an E1 Dragon Blood

  1. You could ask Clippy to snip that part of a picture, sure
  2. Molly remembers the name, other than that she does not know where one word ends and other other begins.

Should we be looking into getting perfect defenses right now? I know that if this was a game of exalted we would beeline to them because the world of exalted has a lot of overkill in it. But if we are mostly dealing with gun level threats then maybe lessor, but cheaper defenses make more sense.

It also puts us at a crime scene in worst case Daedalus scenario and freaks Harry out. Perhaps we should wait and get the Sapphire Ritual of Exorcism, research what we put down with that instead.
 
Extending on this, the Writing also freaks out Gard. What else do you call her proposal to purge it in fire?

You anticipate the obvious question: "I have no idea what most of the writing is but my power told me it... fit with what we were doing. The only part of it I can still read is 'Perfected Principle of Consumption'. Don't worry it looses basically all of its meaning in English..."

But... There are words in there you cannot read, words that might be important. You open your mouth to argue for snapping a picture of the whole circle first, but then you think of how that might look. You've been doing very spooky things all evening. Maybe you shouldn't push your luck by appearing too interested in the Ominous Writing of Ominousness. But it seems important though...

I see we are getting close and starting discussing getting E3.

When we get E3, alongside with King And Kingdom, we'll also get ability to upgrade one charm to a Signature Charm; a Shintai-only upgraded version of that charm.

Prolly time to start thinking about preferences. We are not getting E3 today, but it prolly would happen in an arc or two.

We should make and wear a small body camera. This would let us use the crown post-mortem.

I mean think about how the mechanics work. You made the Black Feast, an obscure necromantic ritual that imitates whatever horror animates the Black Court go from 5 successes to 15, you made it twice again as effective than Arawn could using the remains of Katrina's prep. Freaking out is warranted... as is the notion that this is valuable and important

Can I also suggest we use the sub as a focus to find something out about Evil Bob? Like what his plans are, his knowledge of the Thule society or his name?

So, I'd like to point this out: Mab has 20 dice when doing her best in social combat. Probably more due to UMI, but we negated that. And she is rolling against difficulty 6. Seeing how terrifying she is, and she is indeed nightmare-worthy, let's consider what a social-oriented exalt at essence 5 would be, at least when dealing with her own subjects in her kingdom.

5+5 attribute and ability + excellency. This puts us at 20 dice. Add Without Honor Without Hope. That's 22 dice. Add Boiling Sea Mastery and Demonic Primacy of Essence. That's -3 dfficulty, with the maximum difficulty being 9 to start with. That's difficulty 6. Now, assume shintai form is being used, and Crowned with Fury is selected as signature charm. That adds 5 to all social rollls. Meaning that the Exalt is rolling 22 auto successes. For spite's sake add Soul Rendering Practice at, what I'll assume is 8 banked successes, leaving the exalt at 30 successes.

Yeesh... That's a lot. Elder Exalts are terrifying.

We can do just as well just as easily with another Excellency, and without invoking the name of a Neverborn. Also more relevant to stuff we're likely to do in the future.

For me, at least, the important part is the focus for the Crown. The question "where do I find all the other texts written in this language?" burns in my mind. This is a huge clew towards finding the remaining glories of the first age.

eh, Exalted part was already answered. As for WoD, it's a bit weird. They aren't called 'excellencies' but many splats have abilities to buff either skills or traits quite a bit.
