Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

[X] Jewelry-making (includes polishing and cutting gems; working with precious metals)

Seems more fitting for magical items we eventually plan on making, and for the semi-intellectual direction we picked with crown of eyes, as well as Mollys character, but these are all good.

What are people expecting from mechanics? I can understand jewelry and blacksmithing, but this is still Craft not Technology.

Is it the auto repair?

Okay, then I really advocate for leatherwork.

It's much better for fashion than blacksmithing, we don't want heavy armor anyway, so it's just as good for armor.
And it's much better for our style.

Also two of the other relevant fields are close-enough to take only one die of penalty.

Sounds good.

I guess leather is fine, we probably want to make a shield too, though. Which I don't think should be leather unless we use some kind of supernatural leather for it.

If we're aiming to make light, concealable underarmor, we would be using the kevlar and ballistic mesh available, and that's much more of a Tailoring skill than Blacksmithing, and the same goes for Leatherworking.

There are modern synthetic fabrics and materials we can use for clothing or armor which are far superior to any leather we can both source and reasonably use, and those same materials are generally better than archaic armor made from steel. It won't take any great skill to form reinforced steel inserts that can be added to protect vital areas of our cloth underarmor.

There are far more general fashion-related uses for it, too.

If this works, then I'll vote for it. I don't know much about this. Are these fabrics and meshes also useful against knives, swords, probably claws?

Edit: Though we definitely should include iron and steel due to iron being good against fairy stuff.

Sauron is a great role model, right?

So we can be stylish. I don't quite get what the long-term vision is here, but I don't mind it either.

Edit:

[X] Mechanics (Includes auto repair and construction as well as large scale construction)

At first I was averse to Mechanics because it felt like a utilitarian, minmaxed option, but there's potential in there.

Apparently repetitive and unfulfilling work to standards you do not care about is one of the things that service in hell immunizes one to.
This made me laugh DP

I do hope we take some time to sit down and have a real conversation with Usum at some point.
True, but it's still related to blacksmithing, so only 1 dice less.

I will admit it is not that impressive looking. Practical though, and light.

Kevlar? Yes.

Iron and plate offer more protection overall, but some of the modern stuff is strong.
