To be fair the questions are kind of metextetual! So if the drone IS talkative, it will tell you! If not you'll find out some other way!

Fun FACTS the Homeworld RPG is out!!!!!

It's goooooooooood...

...

Will I cancel Voyager?

Maybe!

I dunno, I haven't decided yet. I have too many quests but also, wanna run so many.

I'm too sleepy to write an update (I was going to write it, but I got hit with intense sleepy waves from the sleepy dimension.)

But! I did have a bunch of episodes I did want to do..........auh...why can there not be two of me, able to write 24/7?

...also, the Homeworld: revelations core rulebook, I swear to god, they were like, "We need an iconic Taiidani fighter pilot?" and someone just drew Adora Shera

I decided to let this quest accumulate enough to read as the first updates seemed a bit overwhelming wit the names...and now I see what a massive mistake I've made.

Fucking hell, this is awesome! You made me feel sorry for the fucking Caretaker and actually respect Neelix!! What kind of black magics have you invoked to perform this impossibility!!!

I'm binging this right now, but I just wanted to let you know how awesome I've found this quest so far.

I mean, you can just put it on indefinite hiatus and come back if you feel inspired.

Oh, I would say he is inspired. Last I chatted with him last night he was having fun converting all of this quest's rules to the new Homeworld edition because bettered handled both what he wanted and players wanted out of the quest.

Not gonna say he will do that soon or that it will happen, but he is happy with the new shiny for his hoard. :D

PRIME FACTORS (1.2)
D-91 made a soft chirruping noise as his internal computation systems worked away. They sounded like vacuum tubes going off, thanks to the fact he wasn't actually a robot - he was a holographic character, transferred into a positronic body, and some carry-over had been left from his original fictional roots as THE ROBOT OF DEATH!!! from episode 91 of Jasmine Starr Against The Emperor Of Space. D-91 had long practice in repressing his first impulse, which bloomed from the part of his programming that most humans would have called their lizard brain.

His 'lizard' brain said to crush, kill, destroy.

His Starfleet training said...

"Tom, T'are, you are the most charming. Go get us some rooms at the front desk. Torres, we shall scan the Borg."

"Oh, going to poke the bear?" Tom asked.

"More like poke...the Borg." D-91 said, then clacked what could be considered eyebrows in his simplified facial frame up and down. After a beat, he whispered. "Did I do that right?"

"Yeah, sir, you got it!" Tom said, patting his shoulder.

Torres and D-91 started towards the Borg drone as the thronging crowds of vacationers grew very thin very rapidly around the Borg drone. Whatever it was meant for, it had the effect of making some people extremely nervous. There was a small sign next to the Borg that said: The management requests you do not disturb our guest.

"Guest huh?" Torres asked, pulling her tricorder out and flipping it on. The faint whirring sound of the scanner filled the air as she frowned and looked down at her readouts. "Huh."

"What?" D-91 asked.

"It's not transmitting anything on any of the known Borg frequencies," Torres said, quietly. "Checking a broader range. They do adapt, after all. That is their thing." She frowned slightly, her forehead ridges furrowing slightly as she adjusted the dial.

A few meters away, Tom and T'are were walking towards the line. T'are whispered into his ear. "Tom, put your hand on my ass. For the cover." Tom snorted, then squeezed her green rump with his palm as she cuddled against him happily, then giggled and caressed his chest with one sleek green finger, playing with the button on his brightly colored T-shirt. The line shuffled forward.

"Well, fuck me," Torres said, quietly.

"I think T'are would be up for that," D-91 said, his own tricorder sliding up and down as he scanned the Borg.

"The Borg's completely untouched by any outside tampering. It hasn't even been damaged. No phaser shots, no disruptor blasts, they haven't even hit it with a hammer," Torres said. "This thing's untouched."

"Except for that hat. Why is this a 'fuck me' worthy reaction?" D-91 asked.

"Well, if it's untouched, then why isn't it broadcasting to the Borg? Why isn't it running through basic routines? Why isn't it...being a Borg?" Torres asked, turning to face him. She frowned, then turned to face the Borg. "Are you part of the collective..." She muttered to herself.

"It can't answer, Torres." D-91 said.

"Sure it can, block me from the front desk," Torres said, pulling her sonic screwdriver out of her transporter buffer. She stepped over to the side of the anthropod form and pressed the screwdriver against a small port on the side of the Borg's head.

"Torres, what are you doing?" D-91 asked. "Stop!"

"Just a second," Torres said, quietly, as D-91 hurriedly shifted himself to stand between her and the rest of the hotel. He reached for her, trying to grab her wrist, but the formerly Maquis (still mostly Maquis engineer, it seemed) had gotten the side of the Borg's head open. Gray wires and black cylinders emerged smoothly from a desiccated port, with a single line of green light throbbing in a complex bit of circuitry, which she plugged her tricorder into directly. She looked at the device. "...it's not a part of a collective, no, because it's...it's transmitting quantum signals to find a Collective. But it isn't getting a response." Her lips pursed. "That's-"

A shadow fell on her and D-91. They both looked over.

Two Sikarians were standing there, looking serous, flanking Gathorel Labin, who was frowning intently. "I see that you definitely cannot read signs or follow directions," he said, his eyes narrowing as he looked at the tricorder in their hands.

"Yeah, and you have a weird Borg drone sitting out here," Torres said, scowling slightly as she yanked the wires free.

"Torres-" D-91 started.

"I think it's time for you to leave this establishment," Gathorel said, his voice grim. "And never come back."

"What?" Torres exclaimed.

"I can discipline my engineer," D-91 started, which provoked an irritated glance from Torres - but Gathorel's eyes flashed with an emotion that D-91 did not quite recognize. So, he took a snapshot of it.

"No. You will leave and we will ask your starship to vacate our premises. The crew of the USS Voyager is not welcome here anymore. And that's final."

***
"My apologies, captain," D-91 said, his voice low, as he sat in the meeting room with the rest of the command staff. Sikarias was slowly fading behind them as they flew away at impulse - but before he could say anything further, Tuvok spoke up.

"You may have very little to apologize for," he said.

D-91 perked up, while Tom - still in his vacation gear - nodded. "Yeah, the front desk got very tense when we checked in our gear."

"I think they were scared of our..." T'are paused. "Well, this is going to sound weird, but they smelled fine handling the phasers, but immediately practically pissed their pants when they looked at our tricorders."

"Shortly before you were ejected, we were scanned from the planetary surface," Tuvok explained.

"Specifically, they were most interested in our sensors," Janeway added. "That's when we were informed that we were going to leave. So, while we were beaming you up, we checked - nothing else in the docking swarm has anything even close to our sensor capacity."

Torres slammed her palms on the table. "They're hiding something!"

"And considering what they're hiding is a means for us to immediately get home," Janeway said, her voice grim. "I believe that we have little choice in the matter." She sat up and clasped her hands before her. "The Federation has rules about the sovereignty of other governments, other people. However, this planet has a single hotel resort on it, run by a dictatorial manager, with the only goal seeming to be the extraction of wealth from the locals via their service industry. The Sikarian brochure says their homeworld is so distant that even they take three jumps to get there - and this is just part of a franchise." She nodded, slowly. "With these facts on hand, and the clear and present danger to my crew without this technology, I have made the decision...that we need to rob this casino. We get one of their transporters, and then we go."

Everyone gaped at her.

Then Torres grinned. "I'm down," she said, excitedly.

How does the crew feel about Janeway's plan?
[ ] Mostly onboard. These guys seem like assholes.
[ ] Maquis eager, Starfleet hesitant.
[ ] Mostly hesitant, Torres is the only one who's down

Now, for the actual heist planning...which kind of heist are we lookin' at here? No write in, there's only three kinds of heists
[ ] Sneak physically
[ ] Social shenanigans
[ ] COMBO TIME!

[X] Mostly onboard. These guys seem like assholes.

Hahaha, yess, radicalize.

[X] Social shenanigans

We're going to Bavarian Fire Drill our way in! Also, social engineering is how this sort of things seems to be done these days.

edit: Also, I'm very down with doing a literal casino heist episode. :V

Future Jasmine Star holodeck crossover episode let's fuckin' GO!!!!

I hope if there are other emancipated holograms from that serial out there they are doing fine just fine and are happy (even though I feel like Jasmine has probably reached some sort of end that is sad and also SUPER heroic. The kind that let's an episode have a bittersweet lingering shot before credits).

Anyway! Heist time!

[X] Maquis eager, Starfleet hesitant.
[X] COMBO TIME!

My biggest disappointment about this whole thing is that we won't have a montage of them going around recruiting a rag tag band of criminals to help them with One Last Job.
If only the Maquis are enthusiastic, we might be able to do the recruitment montage as a flashback to when they decided to steal a Cardassian warship.

If only the Maquis are enthusiastic, we might be able to do the recruitment montage as a flashback to when they decided to steal a Cardassian warship.
Or they robbed a casino or two in the past for fundraising.

I feel like the fact that the drone is in permanent search mode is relevant, but I can't put my finger on why.
Means they got into it's head and reprogrammed it on the sly.

Come to think of it, how sure are we it's a Borg drone and not just some cadaver with Borg cybernetics hooked in but unresponsive?

Means they got into it's head and reprogrammed it on the sly.

As for as our sensors are concerned, it has not been tampered with.

"The Borg's completely untouched by any outside tampering. It hasn't even been damaged. No phaser shots, no disruptor blasts, they haven't even hit it with a hammer," Torres said. "This thing's untouched."

Anyway, other possibilities

1) It's a Borg, but not our Borg. Maybe it's home collective is very far away and the drone hasn't got wireless ranging turned on.
2) It's a Borg, but not our Borg. Their teleportation technology does not displace people between locations, but between alternate universes, and they grabbed a borg from there
3) They are better at modifying Borg than we are at detecting modifications
4) It's a real Borg on vacation with an existential crisis

[X] Mostly onboard. These guys seem like assholes
[X] COMBO TIME!

Time to backtrack and get some help.

We're going to need a ship that isn't going to stick out. I'm sure Neelix could find us a junker that won't raise too many eyebrows.

If the locals are going to be on the lookout for tech let's ditch the tech tech and bring in magic. No one is going to suspect the winged horse is a heister.

Finally we need a distraction, but one that isn't going to cause a lock up, like say if a VIP were to show up. Lindel's an actress, you think she's as famous as Julia Roberts?
