Cardassian Ship – Durable, uncomfortable, close, cramped and cheap. The fact that the starving could have been avoided if the government were less...you know, monstrous doesn't seem to have occurred to that many of them.

Okampan Crew – the crew are bright, perky, cheerful, and incredibly psychically powerful. Individually, they're all better than Vulcans, and as a gestalt? Who knows!

I do love the idea of asking for a antimatter flipper, so we don't run out, and then Q just editing reality so Voyager now uses a Romulan Singularity warp core.

"That's not what I asked for."
"Isn't it? These subquantum conversion systems look so alike."

Maybe we could ask for a one time jump forward for the entire fleet across thousands of light-years at a time of our choosing. Throwing things vast distances is well within their power but I don't see the Q going so far as to send us all the way home and being able to skedaddle out of an area real quick seems like a nice trick to have for major emergencies.

[X] Plan: Why Didn't You Get To The Point In The First Place?
-[X] Apparently our plan to visit The Great Barrier interferes with the plans of a-temporal polities, who wield enough influence to have the Q act on their behalf.
--[X] If Q had just said that in the first place, we could have altered our plans without risking contamination of future timelines.
--[X] Daniels, shut up before you get me in even more trouble with the Department of Temporal Investigations!
--[X] Agree to change course.
--[X] Now let's talk about reparations for the completely unnecessary attempted murder of my crew and destruction of our secondary ship.

Thinking about things, it might not be that straightforward, because we don't know what Phoebe did to warrant her being included in the proceedings. I think we need to find out more about why she's also being tried before we make any demands.

Can we also get a line in here for attempting to get the court to end Voyager's existence, not just the sabotage of the secondary ship?

This entire proceeding is not only a waste of the courts time but the sought outcome by the opposing party is an assault on our very existence, and potentially interferes with an open case into humanity's right to exist.

An award of punitive damages and legal fees may be in order, cause we are going to owe Q a favor for the dramatic overreach of Q here to bring us before Q and the court.

[X] Plan: Why Didn't You Get To The Point In The First Place?

For people not familiar with Awful hospital, iirc Zones are different worlds that aren't alternative universe, but different viewpoints/perspective of a single layered but overlapping universe that as seen from the different planes/concepts.

The Grey Zones are the lowest plane, with barely sapient lifeforms that view/treat the universe as a singular material existence that remains constant and objective regardless of observation; aka Humans and other purely material lifeforms. Or something like that, it's been a while since I've read it, and the comic was a bit of a mindscrew.

[X] Ask Q to explain what the hell is going on... (pick as many as you want, but know your time is limited)
-[X] Ask about Daniels
-[X] Did he say Borg?
Keeping it relevant.

[X] Plan: Why Didn't You Get To The Point In The First Place?

I'VE GOT IT!

[X] Doormamu! I've come to bargain!
-[X] This is a gross over reach on the prosecutor's part and it's in their interests to settle out of court.
-[X] Plea deals mean there's something in it for us. We want something useful, something that we can adapt to deal with different situations that may come up. Something to help us get home.
--[X] A short while later: "Q!!!!!!!! WHY IS MY SHIP COVERED IN BORG NANOPROBES AND WHO THE HELL IS SEVEN OF NINE!!!"

Do you ever wake up in the morning and think to yourself: Today I will cause problems on purpose.

[X] Plan: This is a Courtroom Dammit.
-[X] Ask Q to explain what the hell is going on... (pick as many as you want, but know your time is limited)
--[X] What is Phoebe being charged with? She isn't even in the Delta Quadrant.
-[X] Counter the prosecution's claim that only Voyager's destruction will be able to prevent interference with the Prophet's goals by pointing out that Voyager can simply avoid the Great Barrier.
--[X] Voice your intent to lodge a complaint with the relevant authorities that such a hazard was not communicated to the Federation.

We need to find out what happened on Phoebe's end to figure out if this is indeed something that can be solved with us simply deciding to take a different route. While the Q are arrogant I don't think they'd be so stupid as to not think of changing course as a solution.

Hang on! A plea deal ussually means there's something in it for us!
Can we try to wheedle a boon out of the prosecution in exchange for settlement out of court?
The Q look to be focused on Big Important Things, and to a much lesser extent the Prophets and the Organians.

The crews of the ships voted on a path and chose it of their own free will, but we are willing to change to the "canon" route (under the threat of destruction), in return for some concessions; namely - our actions through our journeys will almost certinly involve conflict.

While the Q are "big picture", we would find it an acceptable recompense that many lives that would not have major impact on the... plans of interested parties, that would end or be heavily damaged are instead protected.
---
Basically @DragonCobolt, I'm asking for either a tiny narrative shift where fewer people die during these adventures.

.. or maybe instead a less subtle, but potentially easier to implement "floating momentum" or "bonus to roll" that recharges every one/two/three episodes that can be applied to actions that fail/have complications that would result in deaths, so no on/fewer people die in that instance.

---
Gah, I hope I've been clear. Brain is a big fuzz today. Did those two make sense/seem reasonably implementable?

Who were those creepy plague folk voyager ran into?

Could we ask for a reverse map? All it shows is places the Q don't want us to go on our trip home?

Wait why are we even present on trial under our own cognizance? Like don't get me wrong it's very generous of Q to allow us to be aware of our affairs being investigated and adjudicated so closely and keenly by intelligences greater than man, but like this hearing is over a possible complication of agreements between the Organians and the Prophets and both having turned to the Q Continuum as a mediating body to resolve and clarify what their agreements mean and determine what can be done to fairly square away both party's obligations and interests. This is some fucking UN International Court of Arbitration shit. We're only relevant insofar as we're like Sentinel Islanders who happen to live within the snarl in maritime boundaries and trade rights bundled up in where our fishing canoes just happened to be going about their day. Like the fact that we as individuals in grey or orange zone or whatever civilizations are being called up on criminal charges for a treaty that we are like not even physically able to sign even if we wanted to smells like bullshit. Like if it wasn't for Q helping us out then we'd have no way to mount any competent defense and Q would have almost certainly allowed Q to be our judge, jury, and executioner. At the end of the day even before the court of Q we're still just subjects of interdimensional negotiations and of internal Q processes that could have been served just as well as Q approaching the bench as a advocate in greyzone law as our actual defense council.

We should move for mistrial on the grounds of these instances of ourselves being unable to cognizantly agree to come on trial, and that Q reconvene this court with alternative instances of the like 61st century Starfleet and Federation, under whose uniform we made the decision to try and cross the Great Barrier, as an instance of our civilization that is actually mentally fit to stand trial in interdimensional court.

I like the idea of getting Seven early tho. I liked her. :(
Well, we haven't voted on what we should get, only pushing the court away from the idea of "let's end Voyager" and more towards "what do we do for apologizing since Corpo Q wasted our time and actively harmed Voyager?"

Getting 7 of 9 early would be fitting "payment" for punitive damages would be fitting with the Q way of being careful what you wish for. Not only would it be an immediate complication, it would also be a layer complication in borg space of "why does this federation ship have borg technology?" AFTER we have promised to take the Borg Dpace route and cannot turn around.

I know! There's so much drama for DC to mine! I really hope that's what we go with, waiting until season 4 to get Seven would be a bummer.

I do have to wonder if this encounter also plants the seeds of the Q romance arc, since you have dashing rogue John de Lancie Q, and then disaffected, burnt out corpo Q who obviously is looking for something different, something more.

I'm totally not hoping that non-de Lancie Q is going to be found wanting for her questionable conduct in regards to this incident and ends up depowered and a member of the crew.

No siree.

@DragonCobolt You seam to have two 1.4s in the Threadmarks.

[X] Plan: Perfectly Balanced, as all things should be.
-[X] Since the alternative seemed to be destruction, go for it. Accept the plea bargain.
--[X] Ask for an equivalent probabilistic boon to the outrageous negative probabilistic event caused to the ValJean - either one event with similarly long odds goes our way through Q intervention, or a number of bad but not quite so unlucky events which would cause major negative outcomes are altered to have good outcomes for us and that extra luck is used to 'pay off' the probabilistic debt incurred by the attack on the ValJean. Definition of 'good' to be at the discretion of a neutral omniscient arbiter.
-[X] Ask Q to explain what the hell is going on... (pick as many as you want, but know your time is limited)
--[X] Did he say Borg?
--[X] Wait a second, if he was from the future, and he discussed things that we did in the Delta Quadrant, we must have made it home. Given that, it would be the height of folly to take a different option which would not guarantee that outcome.

For the boon mechanically I'm thinking a flat inversion of an incredibly unlucky roll, or a pool of rerolls we can use which in total will pay off the 'debt'.

We could ask for a young pair (M&F) of beagles. Good for morale, not great for combat, shouldn't be enough to go tribble on the delta quadrant. Another idea would be any future seasons and sequels for those holo-dramas and movie series' the crew likes. Maybe a music and art database. That at least should be tradeable and useful for the crew right (spin it as us growing or somesuch).
I think since this was a minor inconvenience as far as the Q go we can't ask for anything really game changing.

Though if we are asking for semi-big asks (butterfly effect wise). Maybe
a) we ask for these folk back: Eighteen personnel in a stolen hull section that were killed by the Borg when Q sent the ship to System J-25 (2365, TNG "Q Who").
b) Uterine replicators
c) ??

Aside: I bet SG:Atlantis' Replicators would kick the Borg's asses.
