Digging for Nations in the Desert (No SV, You are a Micronation in the End of the World)

*scoffs* According to US government. Roughly 900 USD per month is plenty sufficient to live off of month to month with rent, groceries, bills, taxes, insurances, and gas.

And "someone" just agreed to pay him that, extra, each month he focuses on their commission. Purportedly.

Heck, according to US government, 900 USD is over paying by 30 a month.

If that is all it took to control you, you would have stopped writing quests a long time ago
If people paid me more then pocket change for commissions where I write almost entire novels for them (True story, I wrote like 200 pages for one guy for 20 bucks)... I would have stopped writing quests a long time ago.

Do they have a talking cat?
No.
A New Age, And New Equipment
Canon, and the CIA are very interested in working with you, though they dislike you being a haven for mercs.

-[]So You mean to Say, you Fired Him?
-[]We have a man who will assist us in our duties.
-[]Send them the Care Package, And tell them that it will help, a lot.

The Queensguard and their nature as airmobile Force
Semi canon.

-[]So wait, Who's dropping Tanks on my Airfield.
-[]Meanwhile, A Chinese General Gets Captured.
-[]The Russians Are getting very Antsy at the prospect of dying to mercenaries.
Just for that, I'm delaying the update by a day.

You know how much I hate people asking me about the updates and when they are ready.

-[X]So wait, Who's dropping Tanks on my Airfield.

Gonna go for the glorious tank drops. Though odds are, they are really invested in trying to get powerful helicopters, considering the more lift, the more options they can air-drop. They may or may not have specially made helicopters so they could paradrop some of the nicer tanks...

[X]So You mean to Say, you Fired Him

What happened?
William S. Lind of Victoria fame, has been fired from RND.

He has been replaced by someone competent.

Like a nerdy looking kid with a white shirt?:V

Whoever gets that reference will understand that it is a brilliant man they hired.

(Hint, he was the Undersecretary for the Navy)

Welp, the USA is dropping prototypes for you to use on the Ruskies.

Including an Abrams Tank.

Wait is that the dude from Victoria @Magoose
Yep.

He just got ganked, and told to pack up his shit and leave, and never work for Army intel again.

He'll most likely become far right extreamist, but details.
He is. The glorious author of Victoria.
He will be poor, broken and utterly lost now that his lifes work is now being used, and the CIA is focusing on other projects.

Also, he will never get his name on the bradly now, the Cunt.

Maybe we can talk to the Americans to make a diesel model of the Abrams for export. You lose some performance but the poorer members of Nato will buy more from them.
Not likely, as depending on how we do, they might decide to keep the design and not risk using a diesel engine on it.

Especially since we've now got the only functioning one in existence, at the moment, doing its absurd field trials, and the CIA is very keen on making sure it gets home safely.

So don't expect much in the way from using it too much.
Watch us absorb the entire Middle East just to make other nations fear us
Doubtful, don't have that much in the way of population to work with, yet.

He is soooo going to try and leverage The Reformers, to try and gather clout against those who fired him isn't he...
And if they somehow win, the US armed forces would become technological luddites, and probably would have their positions obliterated, alongside the forces equipped with outdated equipment the next war/conflict the USA gets involved with...

No he tried that. and it failed, horribly... the Reformers got fired.

All of them got fired.

Interlude: More Oil Than God, More Water than an Ocean.
Interlude: More Oil Than God, More Water than an Ocean.

You had raised an eyebrow as you looked at the paperwork. The man who had been before you was a minner that had formerly, worked for the Saudis before he broke his oath to his king, and converted from Islam, to be his Wife's faith. He was also an Egyptologist, someone who knew what the Ancient Egyptians were doing. To an extent.

He had been one of the best, a surveyor that had, for decades looked out into the desert sands of Arabia, and not only saw Gold under its sands but influence. Power.

Just as people are power, you know that resources are power. And depending on the resources, it can mean the difference between wealth, or destruction.

Or in your case, become the Queenpin for all of the worlds to focus on.

"Say it again, one more time?" You asked as you looked at the map.

"What you are looking at, is the Map of the Region, the Triangle, and the surrounding five hundred square miles, north and south. You see on the Western side, there is large, rocky gravel that is common in the desert, Much of this land, used to have marble and stones that were moved from the South to the North, this is one of the places they assume where they got some of the material to build the pyramids. but, look fifteen feet deeper from topsoil, you will see not only the remnants of former settlements from the ancient times but Water."

He pointed towards the Nile. "We were wondering how this settlement could exist, this far from the Nile. Then we realized that the Nile, perhaps back millennia, had other, smaller tributaries." He pointed to the map. "Under our feet, is a still actively flowing tributary, of an underground aquifer that surfaces into the Nile."

"You mean it's connected to the Nile, and buried by over fifty miles, and it can be… surfaced by simple excavation?" You asked. "How much water is there?"

"Enough Freshwater to greenfly the Desert we are here… and of course, maybe even beyond."

"Will that affect the oil?" You asked.

"Yes, and no." That made the man shake his head. "That is where the Oil comes in."

He then pointed to another map. "Twenty feet below that, at the maximum range of modern drilling and extraction technology that we have, is the largest oil reserves I believe in all of Mainland Africa. From here all the way to the Red Sea. We are at the shallowest point of the entire Reserves, and in a place like this, it's little wonder why they never found it. Everywhere else is too deep to get to, or too isolated to even try.."

"How much oil?" You asked.

"If I am being conservative… as large as Saudi Arabia's currently. If I'm being in my speculations?" He laughed. "Enough to fuel the world for the next three hundred years."

You frowned. "How the hell did everyone miss this?" You asked.

"No one knew where to look. But of course, that leads us to a problem."

"And what problem will that be?" YOu asked.

"Water, or Oil?"

You frowned. "Why not both?"

"The problem is, if we start drilling for the Oil and are not careful, there is a very large chance that this water reserve and the river will flow pollutants into the Nile, and it will Poison everything in it, it will kill Egypt and possibly every nation that has it flows through it." He paused. "We could kill millions of people. And make the entire region worse."

"And that is just a hypothesis?" You asked.

"A guess, The marble that is in between the River and the Oil could still be thick enough as long as we are careful…" He paused. "I just don't know."

What do you decide?:

[]Unearth the River: You are going to reconnect the river to its tributary on the Surface. Doing something, and reversing what the Egyptians, at least in theory, did almost 5,000 years ago. (Will begin a large project to bring a river to the surface. Will not have any risk of starting an environmental catastrophe. Will make Drilling for oil harder.) Reward: Sustincene Agriculture, Comercial, will move up to Meh, and can be made to Perfect Levels

[]Dig for Oil: YOu need the Crude to supply a new industry and build up. The World runs on oil now, not water. (You will start drilling for oil. There is a moderate risk for an environmental catastrophe, and every four turns, if you do not invest in it and they succeed, there may be an accident.) Reward: Oil industry will be set to Meh, And can be made all the way to Excellent

[]Do Both: You are going to be mad, but who fucking cares, you are doing to do the impossible. And you will succed. (You do both projects. Be Warned if one Fails, the Other Will as well! And if the Oil Fails, the Nile will forever be contaminated and the entire world will want to kill you!) Reward: The oil industry will be set to Meh, And can be made all the way to Excellent. Sustincene Agriculture, Comercial, will move up to Meh, and can be made to Perfect Levels

AN: enjoy.

Looks like we need some serious steel/concrete wells to extract the oil.
