[X] Plan KnightDisciple v0.675
Problem that i see is that a Reusable boosters have been tried by the Air force and canned due to DoD budget cuts and a Negative report but i presume that it did not produce any worthwhile results(Don't know anymore details because its behind a paywall I am NOT going to pay 20 dollars for that shit or am i gonna spend my time trying to find a Pirated copy)We also don't have to use a rocket for that last mile delivery. A two stage system with a reusable booster that puts a reentry vehicle on a barista path and sets down not too far from that launch site is workable. The reentry vehicle can even be a glider that can execute evasive maneuvers when back in atmo.
Interceptor payloads might even have a ramjet or other engine to increase their combat endurance.
Conventional missiles do work on UFOs as seen before but anything on an infantry level is unknown due to no encounters but from what has been shown i don't think anything that is too outrageousWe don't need factories right now when we don't even know what sort of equipment will be best against the aliens.

And what you propose while the most fastest is gonna be the most expensive one as well and beyond a dozen or so launches i do not see it being feasible currently

Ah I apologies i am not intimately familiar with the US internal politicksWell there's your problem!
But no, seriously, I can't stress how fucked up US military R&D and procurement is. The Pentagon has literally squashed any attempt at financial transparency because they would look inept at best. I would take anything they have to say on the matter with a serious grain of salt.
Name: Reusable Booster System – Review and Assessment
What you are saying is true but rockets are usually a one time use thing and current rocket tech is still expensive and it is gonna get more cheaper and easier and so on but reaching that level of Rocket sophistication is gonna take timeI'm also skleptical that it would be more expensive than developing an aircraft for the task, simply because the loads and stresses a super/hypersonic aricraft has to deal with are so much more complex than the ones a rocket experiences. I think given equal amounts of spending on rocket and aircraft technology, rocket R&D gets us better capability per dollar simply because we can bypass so many of the inherent limitations of aircraft.
It IRL is currently is a huge mess...Ah I apologies i am not intimately familiar with the US internal politicks
Hopefully it wont mess with INDEX
Ah yes the "reformers" those idiots who believe WW2 designs is suitable for a 21 century battlefield. This is showcased with they utter loathing for a plane mounted radar because it's too "fragile" and prone to errors.Pretty sure the guy who was a major "contributer" for Pentagon Wars is buddy-buddy with William Lind, the jackhole whe dreamed up the nightmare that is Victoria, so take it with 5 shakers of salt.

Anyways, I'll let @Oshha , who is running this game, elaborate on how our research into a rapid transport works instead of trying to dictate it to him.
Didn't they at least at one point had him in their group? And even they stay away from Lind because he's more radioactive than Chernobyl.
For one thing the movie seems not to get the whole concept of an IFV. Like, the Bradley is not some kind of unique abomination among fighting vehicles. Most armies worldwide have an equivalent.Yeah, I'll try to type up a longer response when I get home, but I very deliberately didn't use Pentagon Wars as an example because IIRC it's not a very accurate rendition of how things went down.
The Pentagon IS in a highly incestuous relationship with the Military-Industrial complex, but the details are a lot more boring than that movie presents them as.

and in the time we are developing it better alternatives may show themselves from Alien salvages that make Aircrafts a better option, And there is much more experience doing high end Aircraft than Rockets
My main gripe with the Rocket idea is costs and efficiency of usage of it But it does not account for Reusable Boosters idea which there not much details that i know of
It seems we are not moving it, at least not as a whole. We are building a base around it.How will we transport the remains of an alien craft we shot down to one of our bases for research?

Oh, I'm talking about the Big one just the other smaller UFOS that we will shoot in the course of this quest.
