So. A thought.
We have a massive vulnerability in our near-collapsed economy.
We have a massive asset in our superior intelligence gathering.
Perhaps the latter can be used to solve the former. Imagine Zsinj's Fort Knox equivalent getting looted by spies of the Empire Of The Hand, the money within used for stimulus spending.
(Naturally, we shouldn't target the treasury of the Empire - no, they're best used by preparing and then launching a coup.)
@Daemon Hunter I want to write an omake for this quest and I think the standardized equipment would be a good place to start and I want you opinion on this idea.
Since Star Wars weapons were based out of WW2 weapons, I am thinking of making the EotH's new primary blaster to be based on the M4 platform, more specifically the M27 IAR. It can fill the role of a heavy gunner by shooting more accurate suppressing fire there by using less ammo and be more likely to hit. Marksmen get the Saber Assault which is an M4 that can quickly change from an assault blaster into a sniper blaster with optics and bipod by quick changing the upper receiver. It being lighter to carry by having a polymer frame might also help the troops as every bit of weight matters.

Quick question: Where exactly is our empire located? It would be great to have a visual reference for our current territory, and the best maps I could find to possibly convey that are this and this (I can't find the full galaxy map for the latter). There also this, but it's pretty big and I don't even know if it can reliably show our current territory.
@Daemon Hunter How do our advisors think of our direction so far?
Eshu is my current favorite since she saved us from assassin already so to make her feel like she's contributing we must have her form a bodyguard's unit to command! And the rest make sense but Vipik can stop worrying when he unfucks our economy until then he can worry a fair bit.Eshu is conflicted. She's been at Thrawn's side for a while but feels like she hasn't really contributed as much as she should. She's got high standards for herself that she didn't meet in regards to Solus. But she's intrigued by Cen, she never worked with her, but she had heard of her as a bounty hunter.
Ah, looking to expand her scientific portfolio then? Anything she would personally like to go for?Yewe is neutral. She wasn't expecting the focus on cloning but she's paid well and in a secure position so it's basically another job to her.

Okay, that helps. Excuse me while I try to fix my annoyingly broken links.Your links are broken, but I have you on the west side of the core in the Unknown Regions.
Oh jeez something else I was recommending we do next turn with her!Incremental improvements as she's built her reputation on that.
Particularly economic incremental improvements. That's really our #1 weaknessOh jeez something else I was recommending we do next turn with her!
I'd want to do all of the Incremental improvements starting with military but yeah our economy needs all the help it can get right now.Particularly economic incremental improvements. That's really our #1 weakness
Oh, I can have a scene of Farryn asking for Yewe's opinion on the new blasters. Thanks for the idea. I'll get startedIncremental improvements as she's built her reputation on that.
Have we already started cloning and if so when will we see the first wave?
It could help our labor shortage.
Speaking of poverty... Earlier Adventwolf mentioned how our worlds seem to be almost all backwaters. What are they like? There's a stewardship action for this. Prior to this turn it wouldn't have done anything, but due to the research done, you can churn them out to deal with the labor shortage at the cost of increased poverty.

So why do we only have 1 shipyard, and a minor one at that? Did no one build ships in our section of space? You have a spread of worlds, around 5k of them are low tier worlds that don't really provide anything of value. Around 5.5k of them have minor trade in and out, but aren't on major hyperlanes or trade routes and so their tax base is rather low. Around 20k are systems with a moderate amount of trade although nothing exceptional. They are where you get the majority of you manufacturing, although not the majority of your tax income. Most of your actual tax income comes from a thousand worlds that are decently wealthy and have a good deal of trade.
Do any of the other 1k at least have civilian grade shipyards?Because that minor shipyard is above the rest of those 1k worlds. It's a powerhouse of production and is worth around 4 of the 1k planets in terms of tax income.
Do any of the other 1k at least have civilian grade shipyards?
So we have non-military shipyards at least... and the MC-75 ships were once luxury vessels built on civilian starship facilities and modified for military use... Possibly we could do the same.

Cheaper than building military starship facilities outright at least, right? You could, it'd just dent your economy to convert civilian economy to military production.
