Ok hoo boy a lot has happened here and I can not state on how happy I am with our Intelligence service and how Phillip the mad Lad became the Empires Head of Intelligence!

But on that note I can already see that our economy will be our early game problem that we will need to fix sooner then later if we want to conquer this galaxy. So much so that we may need to hold off on the bigger military reforms(our grand admirals other major reforms) that we want until we have that more under control and just focus on reorganizing and or creating some smaller stuff in the military right now. And research wise I heavily recommend we take the Military research next so are armed forces have modern arms to use.

And finally I say we don't use the knowledge we have on Kane after all if we use it he'll know that his nation is compromised and that would defeat the purpose of us establishing our spy network.

And also we need to get a bodyguard unit up for us my paranoia is rising the longer we don't.

*-25% military upkeep. Lowered effectiveness of sabotaging your military factories. Removes penalties due to supply and communication issues.*
The best part of this is the reduced cost. We need money so much right now.
*New agents equal to other empire's top agents. Scales up from there. Counterintelligence organization quadruples the time for enemies to take action against you. +1 intrigue action due to quality.*
YEEEEEES! Action economy is the best!
*Large museum for the force built. Force order training times decreased by ~25%. Thrawn's trait "The Artist" modified*
This reduction is absolutely amazing. We may hopefully have Jedi Knight level Force Users by the time we hit 9 ABY.
*6 Sith holocrons from Nox's era recovered. 6 holocrons of Jedi through history recovered. Trainers for the order found.*
Well this should be good.
With his temporary disappearance, you wondered who was supervising construction until you found that Darth Nox was doing so, his holocron watching over the project day after day.
Well I think this safely rules out Kanuas actually being Darth Nox. Also, the thought of a Sith Spirit hanging around, giving orders to construction teams amuses me.

As for traits...
The Artist - Increase command multiplier by 5 against the Empire, 2 against factions derived from it. Increase multiplier by 10 against the Chiss Ascendency (additive). Divide bonus for enemy force users by a factor of 2.
Patient - Increased effectiveness of actions taken that are useful in the long term

Also happy that Farryn and Athaen are friends. Both diplomacy and military action are really just two parts of the greater scope of foreign policy after all.

Well...

That was a hell of a turn.

Fantastic. The upkeep reduction is a incredible bonus.
*Interest rates reduced to 0.5%. Crit success prevents depression. Knowledge of Athaen's last trait gained. Knowledge of Athaen and Farryn's friendship gained.*
Glad to avoid a depression. And now interest rates are as low as they can be.
*Economy crashes before recovering thanks to critical success in diplomacy. -400 billion credits due to reduced tax income and additional stimuli. New action to increase automation unlocked. Economic depression remains imminent.*
Ouch... That hurts.
'The Empire has announced in an internal memo that Philip Sole, formerly associated with the Empire of the Hand, is the new director of intelligence.'

*All major powers have Tier 4 intelligence rings within them. The Empire has a T5 intelligence ring. (Intelligence ring tiers depict information access: T1 is low-level info, T2 is low confidential, T3 is low classified, T4 is all classified besides top-secret, T5 is everything). New actions to deepen espionage rings to T5 in major powers. Command Codes action modified. Launch coup in the Empire action available. Prepare for coup action available. Loot the Jedi Temple action available. Expanding the spy network to minor powers action available. Expanding the spy network to the underworld unlocked. Expanding the spy network to the Chiss Ascendancy unlocked.*
*New agents equal to other empire's top agents. Scales up from there. Counterintelligence organization quadruples the time for enemies to take action against you. +1 intrigue action due to quality.*
🤩 Bloody hell!!! This is amazingly good. We know EVERYTHING!

Hopefully we can peacefully exist with the various force users but if it comes to it that's a nice benefit.
*Very defensible temple under construction. Designed by Darth Nox with construction being supervised by him.*
*6 Sith holocrons from Nox's era recovered. 6 holocrons of Jedi through history recovered. Trainers for the order found.*
Umm...

I'm having some serious concerns about this guy and I'm worried we will eventually need to call Luke Skywalker and ask if he would be interested in helping us purge our evil Sith infestation we accidentally created.
For the actual meeting, you're faced with a choice, do you simply act as if you have no idea what his plans are, using what details he reveals to gain an advantageous deal, or do you blatantly show the knowledge your intelligence arm has gained?
I'm not really seeing a reason to reveal that we have Intel. Better to know their every move and plan accordingly.

Where in the Galaxy did those 12 (12!!!) New Holocrons come from?

In a totally unrelated note, I wonder if our new top notch intelligence service could leave a convenient nuclear warhead under that deathtrap of a temple he's building. Just in case.

Honestly if he just wanted to create an organization of Sith I don't think he'd necessarily need our backing. Darth Bane's line shows quite well that you can gather power from the shadows, and he'd not need to make a big change to their philosophy. Or alternatively he could just flat out say "I can give you a Dark Side Sect with all the cool shit the Sith could do" and given we were considering Nuun Nokkra's offer there would be no reason not to.

Lost temples, Sith Tombs, archaeological sites, perhaps the odd storage facility Palpy had?

As for that, we have an entire navy at our disposal. Deathtraps won't stop an orbital bombardment if things really do go poorly enough for that to be needed.

Hmm I am heavily leaning on Thrawn finding a mutually beneficial partnership with Kaine. Getting a Non-aggression treaty would be great as we can focus on the others and sell our standardized and superior weapons and armies to him for a lot of money since the dice really seem to want us to be poor.

The problem is making sure we got all of them.

Then planting a nuke under their temple, which would pretty much guarantee a revolt if it were found, is unlikely to be much better, especially if they're regularly sent out on missions. So let's not jump the gun yet, yeah?

Edit: Wait crap you weren't the one who suggested it, nevermind.

Loving what our Intrigue is looking like in the future but please let's hold off on the coup. We haven't even got our own house in order, can't go thinking about taken on the mess that that place would be too.

Same. In fact I think it would be a better idea to funnel all of their special projects information our way. Who knows what kind of cutting edge technology and secret resources the Imperial Remnant has? Now the question is... how do we deal with them diplomatically? Technically they're the successor state of Palpatine's Galactic Empire, with a lot of the problems that come with it. Problems we are presently grappling with. Personally I say stick with Athaen's specialty and stay out of it and just let them and the New Republic destroy one another for a while. It is slightly sad that we'll lose all that information access once it's beaten by the New Republic (or at least once the NR takes the Core Worlds) but better than getting bogged down.

I'm just excited about our command codes again. After the first turn I wrote them off. They wouldn't be as effective as the first turn and would anger the Empire.

Now we control the Empires intelligence. We could expand what the command codes allow, use them, and make sure no one has any idea we used them.

And conveniently we also have an extra Intrigue action, which gives us the free time to use it.

we can be honest with Kaine or we can keep it a secret. Being honest with Kaine shows that we are wanting the same thing he wants and hopefully foster a better relationship or we can not say anything and just get the best deal possible while risking discovery later on.

Why be honest that we've totally infiltrated his area?

He's basically trying to beat us through economic warfare. Make us dependent on him for trade during the good times and him buying up parts of our territory for a pittance during any bad times.

On the one hand this could help us with cash on the other he is still trying to manipulate us.

Regardless I don't see any reason to reveal that we know everything he's doing. If he plays fair with us, well and good, no problem, happy to do business with him. If he tries to screw with us somehow we will know all about it and react accordingly.

Let's just be friendly neighbors at the moment.

No we are not telling him his realm is fully infiltrated. We are letting him know that we found out about his plans. And no he is not trying to do that either. He is trying to secure his borders and is offering a trade deal that would help us majorly and only if things continue to fuck up will he be able to buy up the capital at low cost to dominate. Kanine is the one Imperial warlord that we can actually work with unlike the others who are either threats, too far away, or just hate us for being Thrawn.

Ah. Alright.

Sorry, I was misunderstanding what was meant by reveal our information.

That's a lot more agreeable but wouldn't that still tip him off that we've got spies on him?

So. A thought.
We have a massive vulnerability in our near-collapsed economy.
We have a massive asset in our superior intelligence gathering.
Perhaps the latter can be used to solve the former. Imagine Zsinj's Fort Knox equivalent getting looted by spies of the Empire Of The Hand, the money within used for stimulus spending.
(Naturally, we shouldn't target the treasury of the Empire - no, they're best used by preparing and then launching a coup.)

I'd like to capitalize on our intel accomplishments next turn by taking the actions to overhaul our military and diplomatic intel operations and diversifying via alien recruitment. Maybe command codes depending on how the action changes. Other than that, maybe a counterintelligence sweep and intel ring deepening or expansion? Also, way to go Philip! =D Finally, given Baiden's crit on supply chains, production diversification seems like a good action to take.
