Soon we will be in Pondicherry. I'm hoping that the poise and suppleness will help our sword work too. Seriously the leading plan sends us broke and tips our hand. We have 15 Army and 9 personal only. I spend personal on politically sensitive costs. I stay out of ministerial affairs. I don't show an interest in Egypt. The Egyptian army has a huge cavalry contingent, so I'm increasing ours.

Okay, how does it 'tip our hand', exactly? Because unless the Enemy has mind reading Powers or a huge Network of Spies all over France in every corner, they should not be able find out that we acquired some damn Maps of Sicily. And if either of both where the case, they'd already know where we are planning to go anyway.

Oh, you are still in France, and you will be getting paid before you leave.

But yeah, you will not be able to get more money from France without donations from the locals or looting the shit out of the enemy territory.

The problem is more with the maps of Egypt. The mission we are trying to keep secret. Any surviving pirates from our purchase (costs 3) are free to talk to the RN for a second reward. No mind reading required!

It is meant to be about the aims of the plan. Gathering intel. Socialising and exercising to chill. Although the Grand Strategy might be seen as stressful, it is thinking through our plan to improve our chances for success and worry less. We can't set off while waiting for maps and balloons. They will help guide operational strategy. While I am critical of the plan, you make it sound like I'm critical of the people. Is this a base tug at voter loyalty? Shouldn't we have good reasons for our final choice?

So if GB gets to learn by proxy, why couldn't we get those maps via proxy? It's not like we have to go ourselves, getting the maps isn't a personal action.

GB gets to find out what our proxies are after. Someone is after maps of Egypt. Is that France or Spain - let's send a ship to find out? Just how proxy are the proxies? With Sicily maps from Paris and Brian our sources are domestic and loyal at least and any warning is late and misdirecting.

The DC ??? might cover more than one trigger value (forex: 20 not secret false maps/40 not secret poor maps/60 poor maps/80 good maps)

3 wealth for a treasure map from pirates. Who is paying?

A balloon will allow a better survey than any maps we can safely get of Egypt. Maps of Sicily will give us a control/comparison for the first inland balloon survey there. Known length of rope should make triangulation very accurate, in a light breeze.
