New Good Seed and Omake Rule Updates
Good Seed and Omake Spreadsheet Rules:

Firstly, if you have questions about Good Seeds and the like please read here. If that doesn't answer your question please ping me in thread, or on Discord.

If you write a new Good Seed, or write an omake, please update the spreadsheet if you have access.

If you do not have access, please ping a collaborator (Swordomatic, Alectai, Quest, TehChron, Insane-Not-Crazy, Humbaba, ReaderOfFate, Kaboomatic, no., BungieONI) letting them know what you want and they will update the spreadsheet here. To gain access, you will need a gmail account of some kind. Throwaway emails are fine (I'm using one for the spreadsheet), but to gain access it's as simple as sending me either your email via PM, via DM in Discord, or just in Discord's #spreadsheet-requests channel.

This is mandatory. If a Good Seed does not record their omake by pinging collabs (or just requesting access and editing things themselves - this is the preferred option), I won't give out awards. If a new Good Seed is not recorded here, they won't advance. By doing this it makes the whole thing manageable for me - it's gotten pretty unwieldy!

-----------------------

Omake Writer Instructions:

There are four fields you need to fill out.

Omake Link, which is just a link to your first omake for the turn. This makes it easier for me to read them as I do the update - without this it's tough to know off the bat which omake were written this turn, and to properly

Requested Bonus, which is your requested bonus for your omake. You can leave it up to me if you like. You can see more info in the Good Seed infopost here.

Cultivation Aims. For those following unorthodox paths - higher than 9th Heavenstage or later than 7th Dao Pillar paths. Please put in what you are aiming for before you break through. I have left it as 'default'. If you do not edit it, I'll go with that.

Turn Notes - Do you want to do something specific? Enter a Secret Realm? Help the Clan out in some way? If you have something specific you want to accomplish on this turn, put it in turn notes so I can adjust your Fate around it.

All other fields are for QM use to record character information to properly run the flow of the game.

...What?

No, I mean why would any batch of QC be missing out from a single action?
I literally don't understand what you're trying to say. I think we're talking past each other. The only thing I'm saying is that the upcoming turn is the ideal time for Manuel to teach, because the recruits who will be affected by his action are the ones who will be most at risk during the next trial.

I'm not sure I really get it -- can't we just teach them on Turn 9, and even this specific age-group of cultivators you're talking about, will still be affected by that? Sure, they'll get his teachings a turn later, but... they'll still have 20 years of cultivation to go on. So I don't see how that makes this specific turn some kind of key "must lecture on Cultivation!" point.

... Not that I agree with the fundamental premise of the argument to begin with, either. I just question the logic and timing of it. ((For starters, I think the most useful 'thing that helps Cultivators in the Trials' action was called out as... I forget, but it was some kind of Military or Administration action! Not a "Manuel lectures on how to Cultivate" action! So Manuel isn't the biggest issue here.))

As far as fundamental premise goes, I think there are far more things that Manuel can be doing that could qualify as "the most important thing" than lecturing, as sad as I might be about the fact that we can't have Manuel indulge in his favorite/most-skilled past-time, outside of what was it literally the first turn we did it?

... Anyway. Point is -- I think we have bigger priorities for Manuel on Turn 9.

Like meddling with Old Cannibal's exit plans, and draining him of trump cards and wealth and secrets and aces that he is planning on bringing with him to the Devil Bees. Or establishing spies in the Devil Bees territory, so that we can take advantage of the new arrival about to enter the Devil Bees territory.

Or doing something anti-Jingshen related.

Or doing something to build up the new territories, or secure them. I don't know if that would be the best use of Manuel's specialties, but at the minimum the sheer fact that this is suddenly-new-territory for us means there's utility and value in having our one and only Nascent Soul to go over it with a fine toothed comb.

Or maybe having Manuel do diplomacy on the newest arriving Vassals. Making sure they can adjust to the desert -- y'know, the place that is utterly different from the blessed qi-saturated green fields they're used to, and the not-a-Righteous-Sect-at-all overlords they're going to be vassals to, and the other vassals they're going to be nearby, and the Righteous Sect they're going to be nearby but which is a mercantile-focused competitor/rival of ours and might or might not do some raiding, and etc.

Though actually, maybe we don't need to have Manuel doing the diplomacy, now that I think about it. At least, not on the Righteous Sect vassals.

Because, happily, our Elder of Diplomacy is one of the few Elders that didn't get wiped out and replaced by a newbie. And, in fact, is the same Elder that we had sent over to the Righteous Sects in the plains in order to do diplomacy!

... So, at least as far as the new vassals are concerned, we could -- if we decide to do so, anyway; I have been bringing up potential actions/options we might see -- leave it up to our Diplomacy Elder to handle it.

Manuel might need to be sent to focus on either the Devil Bees (as, the Devil Bees were one of the targets Xinya was voted to be not-aware-of when we were picking flaws/lackings for our new Elders), or spiking Old Cannibals plans for the Devil Bees, or... ... Hm.

What are the odds that Old Cannibal left a bunch of nasty traps in his territories behind? Not, like, blatant traps like the equivalent of huge nukes buried in places (though also those) but other stuff. Is that something we should be worrying about?

It's best to have Manuel do a sweep of the new territory, just to make sure there weren't any nasty surprises left behind when Old Cannibal ollies outie, and see if there's any untapped resources to exploit for more money.

We can have him settle down and do some 'Training' afterwards, though we don't know when Hong Xuan is going to call in their marker. Money's going to be a bit tight next turn thanks to having to pay their fee (Even if no longer owing mercenary money helps defray that)

Given that last time, the trials happened from year 80 to year 100, we don't have two turns till the trials. We have one. If Manuel is lecturing with the intent of powering up new cultivators so they might more likely survive the trials, he's going to need to do it now, not next turn.

That's not how it works. The trials happen at the end of Turn Ten, this is Turn Eight. We get two Council Turns before then.

welp, looks like not many is interested in the secret realm holders for now. maybe next time :p

Fair point. Let me rephrase. We have two turns, but the trials will presumably eat *all* of our attention on turn 10, so if we want to use Manuel to lecture next turn (which, to clarify, I'm not saying we should), then we need to do so sooner rather than later because there will almost certainly be something more pressing then.

(Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the trials lasted 11 years?)

Eh what the hey, I'll throw you a vote for it. :)

[X] Qiguai Clan

I figure most are voting for either our enemy or the guys who took over some of our old territory and our old knowledge, but voting for the clan whose Secret Realm we can visit every turn in Qi Condensation would not be a poor choice, honestly. I mean, yeah, obviously there's the desire to learn more about the enemy -- it's cautious and conservative.

But wanting to learn more about the topic of 'So just what is up with those guys who have a Secret Realm that we are being allowed to use, anyway?' isn't too bad. I mean -- it's a Secret Realm. It can benefit a lucky Cultivator a lot. They're a Righteous Power; we're a Demonic Power. And yet, we're allowed to use their stuff. It's a valuable thing (and they obviously get a bunch in exchange I bet) but it's a pleasant surprise that we are allowed to benefit from this.

So, wanting to know more about them out of sheer curiosity isn't too bad a pick.

Just, as mentioned, it's also not wrong to go 'Shit. These guys are our enemy -- let's learn more about them!' That is also very reasonable reasoning.

What would be more pressing than the Trials?

It's even enough that powers trying to take advantage get jumped by Fifth Sea Cultivators as well

We do have to watch out for the possibility of losing a Manuel action too. We don't know when the Hong Xuan clan will call in its favour.

I'm going to wait for a sense of how things are going in the council report before I decide if 'compile Domesday Book' is a necessary action or not. It's a worthy idea, but our Clan are masters at unified action, infrastructure and logistics. We shouldn't just assume they can't handle it without Nascent intervention, or that our Old Monster MC needs a specific write in to watch for chicanery from one of his oldest foes.

Talk about discovering untouched spirit stone mines or secret realms seems farfetched, like we are trying to talk things into existence, these were considered the poorest desert lands before the Blood Cannibals showed up. Sure maybe if we rolled a Crit, but presumably equally wonderful things will happen if we roll that well whatever action we choose...

Nothing, that's kind of my point. Lecturing juniors is a good idea, but there are other, more pressing, things he could do on turn 10 when the trials will actually be happening (reinforcing our defenses, threatening other factions so they don't keep advantage, et cetera). If we want him to lecture our juniors, better we do it now.

Ulysses 7 - Medical Assistance
Ulysses 7 medical assistance
I walked back to the hospital from the Contribution Board, trying to suppress a sigh. It seemed as if my fortune was quite bad. Perhaps I had been careless, but who had ever heard of a powerful treasure actually becoming fragile with age? At least I had managed to avoid getting myself injured this time though, so perhaps things were looking up. Checking the patient list, it seems I would have a light workload. It was likely that my fellows were taking less risks since the truce was ending soon and those who were unable to participate due to injury would likely be unable to show their face around the legion. I had barely gone through repairing Iason's arm again when my mentor arrived with great haste, a medicinal scent presaging his presence. He had a name of course,, but I just call him teacher.

"Ah, Ulysses, you're here. I need an extra set of hands with my pill making and you are the only one who is available who is competent enough not to break anything and available." my teacher explained.

I suppressed a wince and said "ah, my apologies elder, but the hospital is understaffed and my duties say I am needed here."

My teacher looked around the room. "With this few patients? Very well, I would like to offer my assistance." Watching my teacher work again? I hadn't had the chance in decades, since we both had our duties. We still kept in contact via letters, but this was a rare opportunity.

"Of course, as I am not a member of this legion It is only proper that I work in tandem with you, so that I do not violate any taboos, or somesuch." my teacher said, with a smile. Actually collaborating with my teacher on medical work was not something I had done before, I had never been qualified when I was training with him, and even now I would probably just get in his way if I was assisting him, but he had offered and it was protocol, so I could only accept such a gift.

He moved with a grace I could only hope to someday match, he seemed to know what was wrong with most patients with just a glance, and he carried with him many medicines that seemed remarkably potent yet used relatively common ingredients, the complexity of which I could not fathom.

All in all, it was an excellent afternoon, and I was in high spirits when my caseload was empty and my mentor escorted me back to the lab where I'd first learnt pill-making. He moved at a pace I could match, which I thought was a bit odd, considering he likely had things to do, but I suppose him carrying me would have drawn some awkward looks.

As we approached, the medicinal smell was just how I'd remembered it, bringing back fond memories. My mentor opened the door, and I quickly took stock of his workshop. Along one wall many things fermented, a precious few of which he could tell were from back when I was an apprentice. Aside from that a handful of pill furnaces bubbled away, still more than half full of liquid, nowhere near ready for the next step of the process. Another few were positioned underneath an overhead window, but those needed at least three nights of moonlight exposure before they could be refined. Aside from those few in use, most of the pill furnaces lay dormant.

"I thought you said you wanted my help, but it seems like everything is in order here, may I ask how exactly I can assist you, teacher?"

My teacher twitched a little, barely noticeable, but from a foundation establishment cultivator of his temperament he might as well have visibly startled."ah, yes, well, I was hoping to make a large batch of ...Blood Slowing Pills."

Blood Slowing Pills were among the lowest of pills, simply slowing the user's bleeding and giving the user a bit more blood in their veins, largely devoid of qi and therefore useless as a cultivation aid. It was largely used to give on site medics more time for triage, and it only worked on those in the first few heavenstages of Qi Condensation. Even given my lackluster rate of progress compared to my peers, I doubt one would even work on me.anymore. Regardless, if my teacher was requesting help with this, then of course I would provide it.

the recipe was eminently simple. Fasting cactus, a so-called spiritual herb that slows down ones metabolism, but it is toxic enough that prolonged use is impossible by anyone lowly enough that food or rest are still concerns and not toxic enough to be of any use in poison making, mixed with blood from a human without a remarkable bloodline(all collected from volunteers or bandits of course, we aren't blood path), to focus the cactus's effect on the blood, first spiritually charged in order to get the ingredients to reach the desired potency, and then drained of qi thoroughly so that no blood qi could be absorbed accidentally. The one benefit was that it did not have a long refining time, it was as simple as pulverizing the cactus with a pestle, stirring vigorously within the furnace until well muddled with the blood, charging with a bit of qi which was much less tiring than he recalled it being during his studies under his teacher, and then filter through some Qi Draining Sand. I manned ten furnaces while my master handled the rest.

It was quite a soothing process, the simple steps becoming rote enough that my mind could wander while I worked. My teacher clearly did not need my help, the way he moved between furnaces with aa practiced ease and grace that I could only hope to someday master, I was uncertain if he was using some wind technique to keep the pestles grinding and the spoons stirring after a few casual rotations, or if he was simply so adept at the processes that he could apply exactly the right amount of force to maintain the rotation. Another ten furnaces worth would trouble him at all.

But if my teacher wanted to keep secrets that was his right. My thoughts returned to the task at hand. Pill refining, the art of turning ingredients into things that could help people, it was invigorating. The legion that had chosen me was low on herbal resources and heavy on combat casualties, so it was only natural that almost all of my duties consisted of medical care. But everyone had to do their best for the good of the clan, and time spent patching up those who nearly die to cannibals is time not spent nearly dying to cannibals, though of course I'd do my part in that regard too. Heck, ever since Iason convinced me to improve my bedside manner I had made all sorts of acquaintances that were interesting to talk too. And on top of all of that, I could still follow my truecalling of pill refining in my spare time. Even if my luck continued to be lackluster, I would get to the next realm eventually. WAs this my teacher's plan all along.

"Ulysses... I've been meaning to discuss something with you..."

"Of course, I understand, you took so much time out of your day just to strengthen my resolve to continue on and endure any setbacks that may come. "

"Ah, um, well yes, I mean, Of course, what an astute student you are...I didn't even say anything."

"Of course, interpreting your meaning through your actions must have been a test of my observational skills. And it was really nice to refine pills with you again, though I hope next time I can actually be useful to you, rather than you simple humoring me."

"I would love that. You may be advancing slowly compared to those other great talents, but I swear most of these juniors are barely fit to use a pestle."

"I'm looking forward to it."
A/N I'd like a Lifespan extending treasure please

David Pupillus 1 - Awakening
The Misadventures of David!
Part 1: Awakening

It was a bright day. With clear skies.

'Huh?'

'Wait, wait, wait. I- I can see? Wait, why would that be-'

A groan resounds in the chasm.

"Great, I'm lost, have an amnesia and one of the worst headaches I ever had…." Said a deep baritone voice while slowly, like someone who isn't used to it began to stand up using the rough, unworked stonewall beside him for support. "And my clothes are tattered and bloody…."

After dusting himself down with hands so tanned as if made of bronze, the man laid against the wall and looks around, taking in his surroundings. The cliff side he is still leaning onto, the small ravine he is in that leads toward a river, the wall of stone opposite him and the the head of a giant feline beast whose body is crushed under a great tree and mostly cowered by boulders and rocks of all size a bit higher in the ravine than he was.

"…That explains the tatters and blood at least, but I don't feel any injuries, which means...but who would heal me and then leave me in the middle of nowhere..." said the man while rubbing his neck.

It was at that moment that a deep roar far away shook the walls, sending lose debris hurling downwards.

"Guess its time to go."

As the man was about to turn, he noticed one of the branches shook down from the great tree by the roar was emitting a faint green glow. He stumbled over, slowly getting better and faster at it, as if he spent a long time without moving and needed to get used to do it again the man took the branch, it was around as long as he was tall, sturdy but still able to bend for a bit and as he grasped it, he felt warmth permeate him, a certain safety calming him.

More roars broke the silence, this time from closer, beyond the great beast, and the man started walking towards the river, using the strange branch as a walking stick.

As he stumbled along, the man started thinking. He was David Pupillus, that much he was certain. He was a scholar, of some kind, but he knew little of what type, thanks to his memory loss. But one thing he was sure is that the answers or at least, a part of them, was with this strange clan, called the Golden Devils, as no matter what, his thoughts always returned to that name.

"Where should I go now, I wonder?" Mused the man aloud, going around a big rock that almost blocked the ravine. "first, the river probably, then follow it to a city maybe? After that though… Might as well look up this clan of devils, if I cant' seem to get them out from my head anyway. But where are they, I wonder? I seem to remember them being near Turtle Mountain and expanding to the deserts…. But where am I to this Turtle Mountain? Guess I will need to take it slowly, one step at a time huh?" He smiled, the thought awakening a strange sense of nostalgia.

As the man walked, now without any problem, finally reaching the river. He heard the noises of mundane birds and insects and he knew, deep down, his journey would be safe for a little time longer. As he knelt down to drink, he saw is reflection in the clear water, though a bit blurred.

He had dark, almost black hair, with a short cut, a youtfull face tanned by the sun and wrinkles around his blue eyes and the corners of his mouth that indicated he smiled a lot.

Konstantinos Papadopoulos - Good Seed Background
Good Seed Background
Konstantinos Papadopoulos
Konstantinos is in many respects a typical clan cultivator. He comes from a bloodline of Bronze, but not one with any wealth or renown to its name. He has some talent, but not from any unique technique or hidden item. He cultivates fairly traditionally, with only a little bit more dabbling that the norm. His appearance does not stand out either - tall, stocking, and bronzed he is as generic as it is possible for a clan cultivator to be. If you interacted with him, you would find little to distinguish him, little that seemed exceptional. There is one exception, however

Konstantinos is a prolific writer on the Contribution Board. From his induction into the Legions, he took to it like a fish to water, spitting out his own tales and experiences with life inside the clan and always providing enough useful information that his readers came away satisfied for the cost. Turns out, when you can take a system that is designed for sharing carefully-researched academic treaties and pump out cheap content regularly, you can make quite a few Contribution Points.

Age: 100 (started turn 8)
Cultivation: Foundation Establishment 1-Pillar (early) (Cultivation years - 100)
Goals: Ascend at 7-pillar as normal
Cool Thing: Fame, fortune, and knowledge from writing

Impact Sources: (+10 Total)

The Spirit Press (+4 Impact): Represents the Wealth, Influence and other resources Konstantinos has by being a successful and wealthy businessman/newspaper owner/rumourmonger.

Seven Darksilk Threads (+2 Impact), seven slender silken threads that would wrap around and strangle enemies of their own accord.

Songblade (+2 Impact), a mystical blade he gained by slaying a set of Harmonious Rats. Such a blade would guard him against Demonic Tunes to some degree, as well as those around him.

Plank of Invisible Wood (+2 Impact), a plank that was not only invisible, but made things behind it invisible as well, as though they were merely part of the landscape. Fragile, it was large enough to occlude an advance from a single angle.

LST idea not yet used.

Ten Thousand Veteran Memoirs - "This treasure contains the collected skills, experience and techniques of ten thousand Qi Condensation Veterans - allowing the user to escape or defeat any foe they could with peak usage of their cultivation base. Only functional once before the treasure burns out, and only in Qi Condensation" (Gained Turn 1)

Jiang Chrysanthos 8 - Year 132 - Goodbyes without Hellos
I rolled dice for who died.

Year 132 - Goodbyes without Hellos

For Chrysanthos, Enatos was a fading memory. They had left home when he was only 5 years old and had experienced his childhood via letters. When Enatos left home himself at 15 Chrysanthos was 26 and adapting to the 8th Heavenstage stage still, his Qi too wild to be safe near children. For the next ten years, the siblings never managed to meet.

And now they never would.

Although Chrysanthos focused on the small Pithos before them, they could not ignore their family's grief. A cultivator's gifts included enhanced senses; useful tools when hunting threats to the clan, which were now a double-edged sword.

Rhea was the loudest; even after their parents had returned home, she still treated them like her own children, much to their mother's consternation, and now the first of her children were dead.

Dead.

Nothing but ash to be added to the desert they called home. A desert Enatos fought for. A desert Chrysanthos was duty-bound to defend as well.

And why.

It was home not because they loved it. Not because it gave them gifts. It was a desolate wasteland that was as happy to kill them as the monsters they fought.

A knife to their gut they held onto simply so they wouldn't bleed out.

Aristeidis and Xiulan held each other in silence, but Chrysanthos felt each teardrop from their brother as it fell. Tears they could not mimic, long trained to hold tight to the slightest breath of water.

Enatos had been alone when he died, staying behind to protect others weaker than him. A hero's deed. A hero's death.

Chrysanthos could remember reading records of similar acts from the Clan's past. Legends giving up their future and power to the next generation. They had all been wise men and women, pinnacles of cultivation, with disciples and descendants. With long lives and longer names.

Enatos had been a child by all but a mortals measure. It shouldn't have been his time.

Raphail stood as still as a mountain, his wrinkled hands gripping a walking stick tight enough to bend it and crushing the folds of a letter he still held. Chrysanthos knew Raphail had been planning his death for years now, having reached his limit before they were even born. And yet, in his resignation, Raphail had been there for all of his siblings. Always ready with advice or aid.

Frail yet powerful.

Just to his side, close enough to be supportive without supporting, was Konstantinos. He held the twins tight to him, ensuring they were not alone in their grief. Grief for being alone.

Alone like they had never been before. Alone like Enatos would always be now. Lost in the desert where each dune was the same as any other. Where the stars impossibly high above never moved. Trapped.

Trapped.

They were all trapped here. Mortal and Immortal alike. Trapped not by walls but a hole. A hole that ate up their grief, their what-would, their if-only.

Chrysanthos felt their Qi rise upwards, and with it flowed their anger. Their despair. Using all of their strength, they forced it back down. Wishing at that moment that the damn hole would swallow it all, if only for a moment. A moment to stop. To no longer feel or think.

Not peace but quiet.

Chrysanthos could not tell how long they remained there—locked in place by the battle raging within.

The sun descended before them, casting Chrysanthos into Enatos' shadow, and the inhospitable heat of the desert turned into hostile ice. The stars watched Chrysanthos as they had watched their brother before they faded in turn to the glare of the sun. With the light and fire came a wind that stirred at Chrysanthos' feet.

The wind carried the sand and dust away to the west, marking rivers and valleys in the desert that held no water. No life.

As the sun touched the horizon again, maybe for the second time, perhaps for the thousandth, Chrysanthos cracked at last. Their Qi rushed forwards and shattered the ground around them. The air screeched in pain, and their blood flowed free from their skin, staining the dust red.

Even as they lost control, the Pithos of their brother remained untouched. Frozen. Still. Unmoving.

Everything Chrysanthos could not be.

Everything Chrysanthos would not be.

Everything Chrysanthos would deny.

"The River flows onwards, brother. We will not stop.
No matter how slow, we continue forward.
Together. Appart"

--------------

So happy I got this done. not very long in the end but it sets up Chrys' starting point for entering foundation building.
"
The River flows onwards, it does not stop,
The river can be fast or slow.
Many or Single.

Requested Bonus: impact

Hopefully, i'll have more for turn 9 as i have a plan for Chrys' long term goals.

Daedalus Khimaira
Fate: Twenty years meditating, yet Daedelus had little to show for it. No enlightenment and no advancement - a Dao-Sucking Gnat consumed many of his insights. He swatted it, but gained only a Pearl of Unwisdom (+1 Impact), an item able to mildly blunt the wits of those he opposed.
