[X] "What is magic? And how did it break the Transistor so badly?"
[X] "Why is your soul so different from a baseline human's?"
[X] Honestly- You're not hiding anything. This is not the time for that. You'll tell him just about everything he wants to know, and then some.

I'd like to ask about developing a soul, but I think that's better left for when we have more info on Ozpin in character, and a stable (and hopefully positive) relationship.

Because Jaune is completely aware of that, of course. And besides, he's probably had to make a lot of hard decisions, "greater good/lesser of two evils" type stuff, and that's assuming a new type of soulless entity with the potential for rapid growth and not quite human mindset doesn't worry the fuck out of him.
The fact that you need to compromise in order to save anyone doesn't negatively impact your willingness to do good. And any sane person should be worried about the Process. I'm worried about them. Jaune is worried about them. Qrow saw a video and he's worried about them.

Understanding is the enemy of fear; if you truly know something, what it is, what it does, why and how it does it, it's harder to be afraid of it. (At least in the destructive, mindless way that leads to witch hunts. Being afraid of, say, nuclear radiation is just good sense. Keeps you on your toes.)

@Prok, would it be a good idea to edit into write-ins among the rest options for exposure?

[X] "I have reason to believe that it's not impossible for the Transistor to create its own soul. The thing that told us about this is dead now, but I wouldn't say no to a second, sane opinion on it."

A big part of RWBY's plot revolves around all of Ozpin's mistakes and Salem capitalizing on them, so I can't say Ozpin is a stand-out human being. But yes, being willing to compromise on your morals can in fact impact your willingness to do good. It has a nasty habit of training you to treat "convenient" as "necessary". At that point you really stop being good.

...anyways, we should totally spill the beans, he's the expert on souls and this issue is very much in his wheelhouse.

Oh I know he's perfectly reasonable, it's just worries about if him reacting poorly to the process screws us over, if removing us becomes the lesser of two evils. He's not an evil person or anything, but there's definitely some risk involved depending on how he reacts.
Thanks.

Ozpin is a decent guy, we can trust him, although whether he shall share his secrets is another matter. Bet he'll be shocked when Jaune asks him about magic, though :p

[X]Diving Into the Depths

Ironwood already knows a bit about the Process and if we can get Oz more filled in and on side that'll allow us to speed up by alot allowing us to use underneath the forever fall forest would be a huge boon.

The clouds are below you.

Ah, Transistor music, a balm to my soul as always. This scene was great Prok, the music set the scene perfectly, and the imagery was lovely.

I feel like the transistor soul question is a bit too early, both because we haven't done much research on our own, and also because asking someone who is pretty much a stranger, if a trustworthy one, about this seems wrong somehow.

[X] Measuredly- You're still not sure you trust Ozpin. Maybe it's paranoia, but on an objective level, you still have no idea how he'll react to anything- so… keep a few cards close to your chest. Just so you can have them for later.

All questions to our benefit. I don't really care about Ozpin's backstory yet. Not like we want Jaune anywhere near that mess this early.
