[X] Plan "A Dagger In Both Hands Mark 2 "

We need to work on our intrigue and mind scarabing the cardinal in our council is an easy way to do it.

Is it alright if i can get a reminder on what the plan: "A Dagger In Both Hands Mark 2 " involve?
We take on a Priest from the Imperium into our court and give access to Imperials to our shipwards (for reapirs). In return, we pay no tithe and the Imperium gives us open borders to all their worlds.
We also give them some minor stuff like the ability to hire a Cryptek (which I personally imagine being like a Necron call center to fuck with them) and them commissioning us to vat grow armies ot superhuman soldiers.

Necrontyr tech support call centre but the necron who answers has a vaguely indian sounding accent?

Imperial Negotiations pt 2
[X] Plan "A Dagger In Both Hands Mark 2"

dc = 45
1d100 +7 +5 (negotiator) = 33

The first pass at negotiations has failed. The next roll adds will have 20 added to the required DC bringing the current plan up to dc 65

As i want to write this in one go please vote for any of the following two options

[ ] Continue to negotiate for your present position

[ ] Alter your plan to be more appealing to the imperials (write in your altered plan)

There is no Moratorium

Oof. Well, either plan would have failed with a roll like that.

I guess we have to smash their fleet and finish building our other super weapon for the inevitable counterattack.

Giving up more is not on the cards, they will accept this very reasonable deal or they will have us as an enemy.

DC 65 or 55, need a high roll either way. This fight is apparently considered a coin flip, so that's frightening. Maybe we retreat, do some raiding to break up this deathball?

On another note, for the future: @Lonkas do we get Artifice increases from building at our skill level, or do we have to reach beyond it?

Reaching beyond it will force you to face challenges your not quite ready for . So you are very likely to break the stuff you build, or it will be quite uninspired compared to others of its scale. HOwever testing the limits of your ability is how you grow and develop skills

Doing things of your skill level will still allow you to develop your abilities, though you are less likely to get significantly better. But you are likely to produce items that pack more punch for the effort put into them

So, since we want Artifice 4 on Levnekh so that we can get a good Stellar Forge, that means we'd want to knock out a ship-scale transmutation wonder, which is four actions at 250 resources each. Better to leave that for the five year turns. Maybe we just knock out an Artifice 3 item next turn, see if we get lucky.
