Before anything can happen, an incredible power overtakes not just Loki, but the entire Nine Realms. Unbelievably, Thor appears in his full glory, power radiating off of his being. Still eyeless, he looks towards Loki with a sneer, and approaches him.
"Brother...King...of J...J...Ice...Betray Asgard. Why?" Loki cannot help but to feel knots in his stomach as Thor's towering and oppressive aura washes over him and seems to wish to suffocate him. What is asking? Why is Loki King of Jotunheim? Does he think Loki has betrayed Asgard? Asgard asked him to be here! He was there, when Amora asked! What does he want from Loki?
What answer does Loki give to his brother?
[] [Thor] Write-In
[z] Establish trade with an outer world (Kree, Skrull, Nova Corps, Titan) DC ??? X2 (Nidaveller and Asgard)
Roll: 24
Roll: 35
Unfortunately, even though Jotunheim needs it desperately, no trade can be established. Asgard is far too busy and Nidavellir doesn't respond in any way.
[z] Train new warriors for the army. DC 55.
Roll: 42
Much like trade, training new warriors unfortunately fails. New soldiers, civilians, line up, but none are skilled enough and none are truly worthy to join.
[z] Gather as much information as possible on Jotunheim. DC ???
Roll: 23
Despite the best efforts of Loki, he just cannot get anyone to properly grant him information about Jotunheim. Again, against all odds he gets virtually nothing.
[z] Build more Turrets for self-defense. DC 55
Roll: 6
An initiative to build more turrets for defense fails. And hard at that. It fails so hard, that a section of the wall is actually destroyed in the attempt, actually leaving Jotunheim less safe than before it was started.
[z] Build a wall to keep out invaders. DC 70 X2
Roll:8
Roll:59
And of course, trying to build a wall doesn't go well either. The first attempt is garbage, and ends up only cracking some of the ground, some of the ice beneath the city, making everything far less stable. The second just...doesn't work. At all.
It's a terrible thing.
[z] Build Barracks for military coverage. DC 55 X2
Roll:59
Roll: 74
Luckily the one thing that does work, is the barrack building efforts. Two new barracks are built, spread through the edge and the center of town, giving almost maximum coverage for the warriors to work from should an attack occur.
[z] Make a factory to mass-produce weapons. DC 45
Roll: 13
Making a factory to mass produce weapons...doesn't go well. But at least there's the ship factories. Right? Right?
[z] Improve the Cloning Facility to make live clones. DC 120
-[z] Loki(Secondary)
-[z] Royal Scientist(Tertiary)
-[z] Do not use Loki's DNA. Use un-enhanced Jotun DNA from the civilian population.
Roll: 479.3
Loki and the Royal Scientist manage to get the cloning facility to make live clones, only...they make sure not to use Loki's DNA, meaning the clone facility has to be changed to be able to use any form of DNA, that's at least Jotun in origin. However, with the combined expertise, they end up making the clone facility able to use any DNA period.
And of course, Jotun DNA is fed into it, to boost the population, and surprisingly Hagen and the Royal Scientist volunteer their DNA as well, making the civilians more mixed, and more...super.
[z] Use Magic to bolster Jotunheim's Security. DC 80 X2
-[z] Bellos(Primary)
Roll: 90
Roll: 29
Bellos ends up boosting Jotunheim's technical defenses by adding a small forcefield around them and boosting output with magic. A second attempt without Bellos however, ends in failure.
[z] Improve Jotunheim's sciences. DC 105
-[z] Royal Scientist(Secondary)
Roll: 93
The Royal Scientist is unfortunately, unable to improve Jotunheim's current impressive level of science, no matter how much he tries. Maybe next time, he might muster up something.
[z] Repair Jotunheim's climate
-[z] Loki(Primary)
-[z] Royal Scientist(Primary)
Roll: 1430
Working together, Loki and the Royal Scientist almost crack the code to Jotunheim's climate. Combined, they create a machine that is able to synthesize cold and ice. With this machine, Jotunheim's climate problems will be solved...eventually. It's not instant, but it can at the very least return Jotunheim to how it was before Loki's Sigyn experiments messed things up.
Who knows, maybe in time, it can substitute for the Casket of Ancient Winters...
[z] Loki
-[z] Visit just the General, Hagen. DC 90
Roll: 798
Loki and Hagen have a grand time, and act almost like drinking buddies, as they discuss Jotunheim, fighting (Loki impressing Hagen with his hand to hand prowess and expertise), war, and more. The two have great fun, and Loki can almost see himself liking the man. It seems that the feeling is mutual, because by the end of the visits...
"Loki, I..." He grimaces. "I haffta to tell you something. Us Jotuns...you've done good work as King...but you've also messed up. Bellos is going to ask you to step down, and me an' the Princess are behind him. It's not you we don't like, it's how things 'ave gone since you step't up. Nothing personal." He sighs. "If It were my way, I'd let you stay 'least. Not as King but..."
-[z] Spend some time with 'The Princess' Ilse. DC 85
Roll: 89
Ilse and Loki have a cordial time together and while it's not overly positive, it's definitely not negative. They discuss Jotunheim politics, and Loki's work to improve things in Jotunheim. Overall she seems to think positively of Loki, at least from what she says.
-[z] See what you and Bellos the Mage can do for each other. DC 150
Roll: 282
Bellos and Loki keep it cordial and somewhat friendly. Bellos definitely approves of what Loki's done with reintroducing magic and its importance into Jotunheim. He hopes Loki continues with this effort, and agrees that technology is useful, and can only be made more useful by magic. Loki finds himself agreeing.
-[z] Establish trade with an outer world (Kree, Skrull, Nova Corps, Titan) DC ??? (Asgard)
Roll: 793
Loki's connections an money and whatnot all come into play as he establishes a pretty good agreement with Asgard. Jotunheim would provide Asgard with technology, and Asgard would provide them with food, materials, and overall resources. It was one-sided in favor for Jotunheim, but Balder is a generous King...and Loki's nephew. So the agreement is put in place, mostly as a charity.
-[z] Research medicine. DC 55
Roll: 1239
Loki delves into medicine and see all there is to offer. No longer does his biology mostly apply to fighting and hurting, but now to healing. He knows how to treat injuries, how to complete surgery, how to sew up wounds, to treat sickness, and more. Everything about health and medicine, Loki knows and becomes an expert in. It's amazing how much he knows now and how much he didn't know.

-[z] Visit your nephew, Balder. DC 85
Roll:44
Unfortunately Loki and Balder's schedules don't really align this year, to ever have time to see each other. It's a shame, but it is what it is.
It's something that happens with Kings at times.
-[z] Pay a visit to your niece, Torunn. DC 40
Roll:68
Fortunately, Torunn is not Queen, and thus Loki manages to coordinate with her, well enough. As always, Uncle and niece have a good time together, though being on Asgard again does seem...strange in some way. Loki can't pinpoint it exactly, but it's not normal.
-[z] Chitauri super soldier program
Roll: 1281
Loki puts the full might of his brainpower towards forming another super soldier program, this time for his Chitauri. After a lot of work and deliberation, Loki finally manages to produce the final Chitauri serum. It brings the Chitauri to their best, and grants...

Ryt Eirikson, Egil's newest apprentice has a request.
[z] Listen
Roll:98
Loki...can't believe his eyes. Before him is...what looks like a young version of Tyr. My god...Ryt...Tyr...is this...is this a joke? Was the killer of his parents mocking him? What is this? Loki must hide his emotions well, because Ryt doesn't see a bit of it. Instead he has a ear-splitting grin as he sees Loki, and excitedly runs up to Loki, and takes his hand.
"Oh Gods! You're the Loki, maker of the rule of science. One of the scientific trinity. You, the Great Osmond, and the Late Elym, Is it true you created a form of distilled magic? Is it true you've found a way to create carbon life forms? Was it true that you mastered a fighting style to match with those of stronger nature? Are you really the one responsible for the giant roc? Is it true your partner is the one responsible for silicon lifeforms as a sort of psuedo competition? I saw the orbital laser you created. Big fan sir. Do you have any advice or footnotes from your younger years you'd be willing to bestow to me? Can I see your tech? Could you sign my Book?"
The young man fires off in a rapid fire manner.
Does Loki sign this...Ryt's book?

Bellos has requested a meeting with Loki. He looks somber about something.
[z] Meet.
Roll: 82
Bellos sits across from Loki, hands folded. A sigh escapes Bellos' lips as Loki is addressed.
"Loki, please sit." Loki nods and sits down, expectantly as the mage continues. "Loki...Hagen told me that he told you and...really it makes this much easier for me. You know what it is we want, and that it is not personal. I personally, would love if you stayed on as a scientist, or...even as a regent of sorts, only under the guidance of me, Hagen, and Ilse, as your council. I am in love with magic's resurgence, and with making Jotunheim smarter. I love the super soldiers, I love the defenses, we love these things." Bellos explains. "What we don't love is the death of the Laufeyson line besides yourself, the...unfortunate accident that occurred for the sake of an Asgardian, the move to Pluto and the decisions that led there. The good and the bad are almost neck and neck, but we cannot risk you possibly ending Jotunheim due to your mistakes and your need to help Asgard. And that is why we ask you to step down."
Loki knows this is coming but still...it stings. It's surprising. It shocks him to the core. Being asked to step down as King by his subjects. Wow.
Does Loki oblige?

Egil wants to work with Loki to produce a new serum.
[z] Sure.
Roll: 52
Loki and Egil work together and attempt to make a new serum. With their combined intelligence they...
Roll:1521
Create something, something that works, but not the something that Egil set out to create. Egil wanted something to increase magic and intelligence, no matter the base, and this...is not that.
What it is, is...
[] A serum that increases Learning up to a certain point (+20, unless 60 Learning or more)
[] A serum that increases magic, even if the magic serum was already taken (+20 Magic points)
[] A serum that ??? (Chaos Serum returns)
[] A serum that raises both Magic and Learning +10 but only to an extent (unless 60 Learning or above)
Torunn wants Loki to teach her science instead of giving her a gift.
[z] Agree
Roll: 24
Unfortunately, while Torunn and Loki agree with the gift, Sif does not. She berates Loki for wasting her daughter's time on "useless things" like science, when she could be fighting or training. Loki opens his mouth to say something but Torunn just shakes her head. Fine then...
Sigyn wishes for Loki to visit her often in Asgard. As often as he can.
[z] Of course.
Roll: 64
Loki and Sigyn reunite in a beautiful scene, where they hold each other tightly for what seems like days and days. Though Sigyn never went through the horrible ordeal, and Loki no longer knows of it, something in their subconscious reacts and tells them that this is right. The two chat away, telling about their lives on separate planets, as they snuggle and just...hold each other and bask in each other's presence.
Once Loki leaves, he again feels it. Something is strange in Asgard. While he's there, his magic feels...drained almost.
Balder asks Loki to make him an artifact for his birthday. Specced in Dark Magic.
[z] Accept the request.
Roll: 60
Balder is exceedingly grateful to his Uncle. With this, he can properly watch over the Nine Realms with his own two eyes, as Uncle Egil does, but with more...authority. He doesn't want to undermine him of course, but he's busy as of late with more and more apprentices and Balder needs to be able to stand on his own two feet.
What does Skrullos focus on this turn?
[z] [Skrullos] Intrigue
Roll: 63
Skrullos tries to specc further into intrigue and succeed. Not much is done, but they get better and better at studying their enemies and mimicking them. Hopefully it will prove useful as Nova looks to be in the system for who-knows-what.
What does Loki tell Sigyn to focus on with Phoenix Financial?
[z] Security
Roll: 48
Phoenix Financial improves their security, to the point that every branch is much like a mini-Jotunheim. Of course it gets even better with Sigyn's magic, providing a smaller version of Asgard's forcefield for extra security.
Late in the year, it appears Amora has awoken...and Egil is calling for aid, as he believes she is possessed, is draining Asgard's magic, and may be a threat to the Nine Realms in total. Does Loki help and answer Egil's call? With his Chitauri?
