A Day Unlike Any Other (Ben 10/Multicross)

It jus occurred to me. If Kevin winds up part Lovercraftian horror, that's going to make everything so much worse.

I like both of these ideas. Also, next time we meet a biological opponent as the Night-gaunt, we must test our super tickling skills.
Yeah, I'm sure that was meant to be intimidating to some degree when Lovecraft wrote it, but it just sounds hilarious to me.

Huh, since it's not mentioned, where is the Omnitrix located on our Night-gaunt form? Not really an important question, I just wanted to ask.
It's right in the center of it's chest, similar to how it's handled with the AF versions of the aliens.

to be completely honest, there's only a couple of things that Lovecraft that even really unnerve me. I don't honestly think he was that great of a writer, but the Mythos itself is an amazing thing.

I mean, wasn't one of the 'big horrible twists' in one of his stories that a person in a position of political power was part black? For all that he had a good mythos, it's what other people have done with it that I really care about, and the man himself was... kind of laughable.

[X] Experiment with the buttons on the Omnitrix

Because surely there's no way this can go wrong.

Regarding the Nightgaunt name, I'm similarly fine with either Silent Fright or Sound Out. So... how we gonna solve this?

Flip a coin? I dunno.
Well, I personally prefer Silent Fright, so I guess that's two and a maybe there. I just wouldn't be broken up about it if we went with Sound Out instead.

Well... Strictly speaking the rust bucket is a bullshit sci fi space RV so... Is there really a need to organize a sensible timeline for who was where when as oppossed to just answering all of them with yes and answering why with because it was cool?

Anywho, votes time

In part because if something like that was happening, Gwen would have noticed.

You don't just cross from one end of the country to the other in a single day... this isn't Europe.

Also it means that Dr. Animo has more than 48 hours at most to come up with the idea of creating giant mutant animals and stuff. Since according to the wiki Diamondhead's battle with the robot was what inspired him to mutate animals.

Honestly yeah, as much as I do want to get in a bit more practice with the Aliens we've already used, we do still have two of them we don't know anything about as players, and seven IC. Also the mystery of Alien 3 is still going to be killing me until we receive definite confirmation that it's a sludgepuppy or otherwise.

Also, the name is cool and Ben has used longer ones in canon(at least, from a syllable perspective).

Reveal to me your secrets, number 9. I must know.

Yeah, man may have been a racist paraniod and debatably suicidal jack@ss but he did make a very interesting mythos.

EDIT: I just came to a very horrifying realization.... If #8 exists then the Yerks probably do as well..... Not good since a species of parasitic mind controlling slugs who cannot be detected and can mimic the actions of their host perfectly who are invading earth secretly is.... Something almost impossible to defeat.

I mean, those guys could infest anyone we know and we would have no way of knowing.... God, I hope the omnitrix has some kind of defense against that and maybe a way to detect them or we will be screwed....

I mean, 2 days travel coast to coast isn't too far off from doable. Like, fudging the numbers a bit you could blast through the continental US in, if my numbers work right, about a day. 48 hours Cali to DC is a doable trek and if you use the rust bucket to fudge numbers along isn't really the most unreasonable.

Like, the because rust bucket excuse isn't to justify them being physically capable of making it coast to coast in 48 hours, it's to justify the trip not being bloody torture.

Less of an "utter bullshit it would take an idiot to believe" and "more grandpa is a little off", at least until you break out the stopwatches, excel sheets, gps, and corkboard with maps.

Kind of? 3 days from Massachusetts to Washington state driving for every hour available save gas, lunch, and sleeping.

[x] -about blue skinned alien. Workshop usable names for said form, maybe annoy her for shits and giggles. ... Yes. Definitely try to annoy the geek, that sounds like fun. Enough fun to maybe offput the amount of suck the vaca has turned due to her being here. I mean, freaky alien watch is cool, but still. Geeky cousin. Blegh.

Whats this tickling thing regarding the Nightgaunt?

Apparently, at least according to wikis since I never read any lovecraft myself, the Night-Gaunt modus operandi is to "tickle their victims into submission."

From the wiki, and apparently the story:
All they ever did was clutch and fly and tickle; that was the way of night-gaunts.

Bout half that if you speed the entire way no stops. And let's be real here, who goes down the highway at less than 90 unless there's congestion or cops?

Not the smartest or most reasonable trip to make but it is theoretically possible and could work as an actual trip if you're willing to use sci fi space truck to fudge numbers a bit
