A Day Unlike Any Other (Ben 10/Multicross)

But it's also worth remembering that the Andalite morphing technology is a technology and a natural part of their species.
Did you mean to say "not a natural part of their species"?

Anyway, if you hadn't hinted that it probably won't be a thing, I'd have been split on whether the Andalite could morph or not. On one hand, NRG's whole plot was that he was trapped in the containment suit, and I dare you to look me in the eyes and say Goop was born with a UFO with a damn off button, so it's not like the Omnitrix can't replicate technology. On the other hand, the suit meant NRG wasn't giving everybody cancer when he transformed, and the UFO meant Goop wasn't basically paralyzed, so it might only implement vital safety or mobility measures. On the alien third hand, the Omnitrix was designed to let people walk a mile in the shoes of other species, and can you really say you lived like an Andalite if you couldn't morph? On the big red fourth hand, the Omnitrix is really similar to morphing, so morphing might not have been needed.

Long story short, either way it turns out, I'd buy it.

One of my friends was a huge Animorphs fan (Hi @Flutters Is Shy!) and informed me of what the species is capable of even without the morphing tech. We still have a telepathic alien centaur with a tail capable of sheering steel and hands capable of extremely delicate tasks. Also they eat through their hooves.

Anyways, a full list of what we've puzzled out, as well as guesses (numbers will be used for transformatiosn lacking a designation):

"Heatblast" - Pyronite
"2" - Asari
"3" - Lenopan
"Pesky Dust" - Nemuina
"Grey Matter" - Galvan
"6" - Acklay
"7" - Cybertronian?
"8" - Andalite
"9" - ?????
"Ghostfreak" - Ectonurite (DO NOT USE FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY)

...We've pretty much puzzled out everything except 7 and 9, and I still have a strong (probably biased) hunch about 7. No clue what 9 is beyond possibly another centaur.

To be fair, I'm not entirely sure how much choice we're going to have in using Ghostfreak. We're able to choose this time, but we may wind up with the same control problems Ben had in early seasons. Not to mention that I doubt that Lunar is just going to let us avoid the plot arc entirely when they had it set up, especially since we don't have an IC reason to care about not using Ghostfreak yet.

Also, I will say that we're not really certain 3 is a Lenopan, it's just that I've got no idea on anything else it possibly could be, and it's apparently a better fit than it seems.

We don't have an IC reason for this, and given he's on there for the hijack, I expect good old Omnitrix misfires to hit him if we don't use him enough.

...Shit. I'd forgotten about the 'glitches' that happened in the original series. And you're both right about the IC thing. We can't just hold off on using it for metanarrative reasons. That only works with Alien X.

I'm going with Occam's Razor on this one. I still don't know what that silhouette reminded me of though, because I know I never saw a Lenopan before this.

Well doing the Ghostfreak arc has its ups and downs if we have the choice to just skip it by not using him. If we do it losing Ghostfreak might cause the omnitrix to give us a new 10th alien in our first playlist, as the omnitrix organizes the aliens in sets of ten. But doing it is a risk because Ghostfreak is kind of strong.

Well, if galvan and crab dude get to keep their smarts as a racial ability (screw whatever learning must be required normally,) not to mention a scatterbrain like juryrig, why can't the andalite form come with its own brain boost with technological prowess? They were space farers as well, and even devised their own transformation technology like azimuth. Why can't they be a smart transformation?

I mean, I feel like a significant majority of the aliens in the Omnitrix are spacefarers to some degree. That being said yeah, if high intelligents is a notable feature of Andalites in general it's at least fairly likely it will carry over.

I feel like since the aliens are the most optimized version of the alien then most likely the alien that Ben turns into will have traits that the alien is know for even if some aliens of that species aren't, they are the exception not the best of the species, like how gravattack is wise and patient and Rath is well not even though in that episode we see some appoplexians not raging the whole time and even those two Galven in omniverse who aren't very smart yet when Ben turns into grey matter he is suddenly equipped with more knowledge then he had before, I remember one time when Ben was a kid and he went grey matter and he said some kind of techno babble then went "I don't even know what I just said." or something along those lines, So Maybe if Ben turned into his asari form he would be more charismatic.

Asari are genderless, right? So he'd end up looking female regardless?

I thought the whole point of them game wise was that they had a much greater affinity for biotics, or something...

Yes all of that is true they can share memories, use biotics without any help from tech from birth (All of the other races need implants and becoming a biotic doesn't always work) though that doesn't necessarily mean there always stronger then other races in biotics as one of the strongest biotics is a human, it just means they can use it naturally.

"Asari are known for their elegance, diplomacy, and biotic aptitude. A mono-gender race, the asari are distinctly feminine in appearance and possess maternal instincts. Their unique physiology, expressed in a millennium-long lifespan and the ability to reproduce with a partner of any gender or species, gives them a conservative yet convivial attitude toward other races. Favoring compromise and cooperation over conflict."
This is a quote from the wiki.

Another hint for alien 9 - it's a relatively popular idea for an Alien form, at least within a certain niche part of the fanbase. Also a lot of people forget a very important fact about its abilities and the exceptions within.

You know the funny thing? There's almost no way Ben actually knows what a Blueshift is. Then again, neither did I. I just thought it sounded cool.

Also, if my suspicion on 7 is correct, we're gonna have a giant robot fight!

Ben: Dang I don't know what to name this alien.
Gwen: Well how about blueshift? I thought of it because a blueshift is the displacement of the spectrum to shorter wavelengths in the light coming fro-
Ben: That Name sounds cool!
Gwen: ....

I had know idea it was even a thing I just thought it was a cool sounding name.

There is also the fact that when Ben does a Biotic charge everything around him turns blue from his point of view.

Oh, I forgot. I need some rolls, can I get:

2d100s for the giant robot
2d20s for Ben
2d20s for Gwen
And 2d20s for Grandpa Max
And 1d100 for knowledge

Well, I suppose we better hope that high rolls on Giant Robot are good for us, otherwise... eesh

*whistles*

Alright, with the bonus that Ben has picked up to learning his aliens skills... I can work with this.

However, in the future I would prefer that each set of rolls be handled by a different person so that one particular string of luck doesn't cover the whole of the rolls like this.

To be completely honest, if you guys prefer I would not be against keeping Grue's rolls for the Robot and letting others roll for the others - however should you guys feel that is the best option it is worth noting that it is possible that you guys might roll worse.

What we have learned from this is that I'm not allowed to roll for the bad guys.:V
(But yeah, no objections here to spreading the rolls retrospectively.)

I can help with rolling—what code do I need to input/buttons do I need to push?
