...Sorry for how long this ended up taking, life just kind of hit me in the face really hard.
Your eyes snap up, from the gun, to the shouting terrified looking man, then to the window, and back to the gun.
You need to do something... These people may not really be bad people, but they are threatening innocent people with guns, and that is bad. Admittedly, the only reason why they are threatening people is because they are covered in bombs and are scared of what is going to happen to them. They too, are people that needs to be saved. Luckily for them, you are a hero.
You hold up a finger, a soft smile on your face as you look at the shouting man, doing your best to make him feel like he doesn't need to be worried. "
Just a moment," You say with a bit of a laugh, "
I'll be right back dudes, there is someone I like really need to talk to."
"You'll Wha-" The man starts to say, even as you take two short steps, rocketing through the window, sending prismatic shards of glass twinkling in the sunlight as you soar towards the singular woman who stands there, not wearing the same bomb jackets that everyone else is wearing.
You feel the ground crack under your feet as you slam hard down before the woman, and as you rise to your feet you look down at the shorter woman. "
Well, like what do we have here?"
The woman stands there, almost frozen in place, her dark chocolate colored eyes staring out from the beneath a long fringe of ebony hair. You could easily call the woman beautiful, with a soft face and tanned skin, her hair long and drawn back into a complex looking braid... Were it not for, you know, the whole putting all these people in danger for whatever rea- "Oh thank god!" She says, body relaxing, "You're not a human! Did the Agency send you?"
...what?
"
The Agency?" You ask, and for a moment the woman almost seems to deflate a little, before taking a breath and looking to you again.
"Look, I need your help."
"
Like, why would I help you, you're putting all these people in danger."
"Please," She says, sounding truly worried, "At least let me explain before you make a decision." You give a short nod, and the woman gives a small smile before sighing. "First off, only one of the bomb vests were real, and I blew that one up to make those people do what I asked." You scowl a little, and the woman glances away. "I had to. My life, and the life of my people are on the lines. I'm not... We may look human, but we aren't. We're... colonists might be the right word. We just want to live and be free, and..." She cuts herself off with a sigh, "However, there is another alien race who has... sworn to exterminate my people, they treat us like pests."
Well, this is certainly not what you expected when you jumped out here. Then again, you really had no idea what you were expecting when it turned out that the people trying to attack the Restaurant were wearing bomb vests. "There is a group of these aliens on the planet, and they have attacking us relentlessly." The woman continued, "In particular, they are after..." She glanced at you for a moment, looking almost worried about continuing, but with another sigh, "There is vitamin that we need as part of our diet, and it doesn't naturally grow on this planet, so we have a machine that makes it for us. These bandits have been coming for the machine.
"Normally there is an Agency that works with the United Nations who have been helping us move the machine whenever these bandits get too close..." She continued, "However, we got a call last night. Something is happening. All across the world, every member of the organization is being recalled to deal with a threat, so instead of them helping us move the machine and come up with an official reason why everything is happening... I had to set all of this up on my own and figure a way to keep the humans from finding out."
"
You put a lot of people in danger." You point out, and the woman does look like she understands the weight of what she has done.
"I know, a lot of people might get hurt if this doesn't go well... But we are certain that the Bandits know where the Machine has been hidden, and if we don't something, all of my people are going to die." Well... Fuck.
You are still a little angry at what these people are doing, but given that they are trying to prevent themselves from being slaughtered... "
Alright, fine." You grouse out, and the woman looking a little confused. You flex, a small smile on your face. "
I'm strong. Real strong. I don't like what you're doing here, but I ain't going to let you all die. I'll help." The woman looks completely baffled for a moment, before breaking out into a large grin, and she almost bounces in place, before quickly schooling her features.
"Th-thank you! Please follow me." She moves around the truck and into a laundromat behind the truck. Moving quickly, she pressed a button beneath the counter, causing one of the walls to slowly descend down into the ground, revealing a massive elevator. The two of you take the elevator down, coming to a stop in a massive cavern like room, in the center of the room was a moderately sized empty pool, but you could see that there was still an amount of greenish liquid at the bottom of the pool. Set above the pool was a machine twice as wide and long as a mattress.
The machine was a shiny silver color with a ball of burnished bronze in the center and three trios of things that almost looked like speakers extending out around it. You could see that there were men and women moving about the room, gathering up boxes and crates while another group had a massive ladder and where working at the side of the machine, it looks like they are trying to take the thing apart.
It looks like it would take them hours upon hours to do this. Floating up into the air, you slide over to the top of the machine, spotting a particular group of screws keeping the whole thing up, and more importantly that there are handles along the back. "
Hey Brahs," You say with a wave towards the working men. "
If you guys can unscrew this thing, I can fly it over to the truck without having to take it apart."
The men looked at you, and you could see one starting to reach for something in a holster on his hip, before- "Don't worry about him, he's agreed to help us." The woman that you have agreed to help says, and with a smile you grab hold of the handles.
From there, things are relatively simple. You grab hold of the thing, they unscrew it from the top, and you slowly float it over to the huge elevator. Then, you carefully float the thing up as the Elevator Goes, however the Elevator then opens on the backside, where you find yourself exiting the back of the building. Before you can try to lift the machine up over the building, the huge truck comes around the corner, slowly backing up.
Helping the woman and her team move the machine into the truck, you help them strap it down, and the woman presses a button on the tablet she was carrying. "There. The vests are now 'disarmed' so the people should be fine now."
You walk with the woman to the side of the truck, as the door opens. "Visser One, the Kandrona Machine is packed and we are ready to go. Best of all, we haven't seen hide nor hair of the Andalites."
"Thank you, stranger. I hope your day is as good as mine is now."
