[X][Epic] Evalon proves himself to be charming and charismatic like Wonlyn. (Diplo Hero)
[X][Bonus] Gain Legacy Ancient Inspirations
[X][GA] Unlock religious reforms. (-2 Temp Diplo, -2 Temp Mystic, -2 Temp Culture)

As per usual, Diplomacy. Go for that. Needn't explanation for voting this.

Legacy is a Legacy, and something that I will always vote for (even if the vote is overwhelmingly on its favour anyway)

And lastly, there should be a synergistic bonus for unlocking religious reforms right as we start on codifying the laws carefully. Moreover, with the whole that is having two gods on the block that the thread (and the Arthwyd Pantheon) is opposed to, codifying how we deal with them would be... good.

Anyway guys, big problem

Codified law required culture to unlock, so it'll likely need culture to build.
We can not get any culture. Our Perm is 1, and our only way of getting it is venerating the Gods, an action that wll take us dramatically over max stab/legitimY.

As such, it is imperative we take the theater, to get another source of culture production.

[x] [Epic] Evalon proves himself to be an excellent crafter and storyteller. (Culture Hero)
[x] [GA] Unlock the Grand Theatre Megaproject. (-2 Temp Mystic, -2 Temp Culture)
Venerating can't increase stab/legit over 3. Only special events can.

[X] [GA] Unlock the Grand Library Megaproject. (-2 Temp Mystic, -2 Temp Culture)
[X] [GA] Unlock the Great Market Place Megaproject. (-2 Temp Diplo, -2 Temp Wealth)
[X] [Epic] Evalon proves to himself to have a creative and inventive mind. (Tech Hero)
[X] [Bonus] Gain Legacy Ancient Inspirations

[X] [Epic] Evalon proves to himself to have a creative and inventive mind. (Tech Hero)
[X] [Epic] Evalon proves to be naturally talented with the numbers and records like Evatine. (Gain an Admin Hero)
[X] [Epic] Evalon proves himself to be charming and charismatic like Wonlyn. (Diplo Hero)
  • Accelerate our expansion, construct buildings, and potentially law code with Admin hero, potentially synergises with library.
  • Institute massive technological advancement with the Tech hero, synergises with library.

[X] [Bonus] Gain Legacy Ancient Inspirations
[X] [Bonus] Put Codified Law on automatic action track (Will gain +1 Progress each turn with no action cost, but you will still need to stat costs).
[X] [Bonus] Gain two or more Innovations.

  • Technology or diplomacy advantages. The "Ancient" is slightly strange, but is potentially linked to our history of higher tech levels.
  • Free actions. Probably not worth it, but I consider it better than the values. Synergises with Admin hero.
  • Free technologies, hopefully good ones. Synergises with tech hero and library.

[X] [GA] Unlock the Grand Library Megaproject. (-2 Temp Mystic, -2 Temp Culture)
[X] [GA] Gain random nautical technology advancement. (-1 Temp Diplo, -1 Temp Econ, -1 Temp Mystic)
[X] [GA] Gain random administration technology advancement. (-1 Temp Diplo, -1 Temp Mystic, -1 Temp Culture)

  • Accelerates technological, social, and cultural advancement. Promotes reading as a social concept, potentially unlocks extended project libraries. Synergises with tech hero.
  • Nautical developments will allow us to broaden our sights. We have neutral parties around us of decent power, but no enemies. This is our best chance for exploration, waiting any further would just be waiting until we have no potential threats, which will literally never happen. Synergises with tech hero, free innovations, and potentially with library.
  • We have the resources, space, and actions to expand and to build. This will probably benefit either infrastructure or settling. In the case of settling it may give us more free infrastructure when settling. Synergises with Admin hero, potentially with tech hero and library.

[] [GA] Improve relations with all neighbours. (-6 Temp Diplo, -1 Temp Mystic, -1 Temp Culture)

Costs us a Golden Age, which is giving us free economy and free Golden Age buffs. I agree that continuing a Golden Age beyond it's natural lifespan is fair, but this action is hardly necessary. We're not in a terrible situation with anyone, the worst we have against us is "wary".

I agree that we can do with improving our diplomacy, but we can do that naturally over time, or through province actions. Costing us our Golden Age bonuses, as well as depriving us of this turn's bonus, just doesn't seem reasonable to me.

EDIT: It could be used to annex the Northern Lowlanders, but again doesn't seem worth expending the golden age for that. I don't think our civ is in a position where it narratively doesn't make sense for a golden age.

Now, going for diplo province actions and/or a diplo hero so that we can annex the northern lowlands, that I can get behind. The Arthdysh are largely lowlanders anyways right?

Added a vote for the diplo hero because it's what will actually allows us to expand the noodley parts of our civ, by integrating the lowlanders.

Hmm... Ancient Legacy going back long past most others, centered on a river, Good at rush building megaprojects, one of the earliest urbanized civs, highly centralized for the time and ruled by a divine right monarch.

… Yeah we are this world's Egypt aren't we?

All we need now is to be invaded a ton and have our monarchy subverted by said invaders until we eventually rebel and restore native rule. Looking at Boarfolk.

How did we get 4 Stab/Legitimacy this turn then?

Wonlyn was too successful at smoothing things when it came to the disruptive effects of integrating the Colryd, increase the authority of the Cadlon and otherwise ensure the Arthwyd that everything was all right. Not only did she cancel out your legitimacy and stabilities losses this turn, but she put over the limit.

You haven't properly spaced your vote so the tally is counting your three votes as one single vote.

The Arthdysh are small lime-coloured group between the Arthwyd, Moradysh and the western Northern Lowlander Tribes.
I didn't even notice it was a different colour than the yellow Lowlanders. And the Merntir looked like a lighter green than the Arthwyd. Either way, fixed.
We need to grab those Northern Lowlander tribes while they're weakened. Also, guys, we should go for the Marketplace megaproject now, before ending the GA with the diplo bonus, now that we have control over the trade hub.

We need to expand into the lowlands, but we all those provinces will go over our domain limit. We should diplomance and vassalize them instead. But if they're too fractured, we'll go over our vassal limit. So lets diplo-vassalize one on either side of the bank and then help them conquer the rest of the lowlands on their side of the river. We can then integrate them later when we

Okay, my arguments for Nalnir and Urthryn pulling a merger of pantheons:

Common:
  • The Arthwyd are a threat and hate both of them.
  • Their divine blessing have ridiculous synergy.
  • Slaves and blood magic are such a fun combination.
Nalnir:
  • The only thing more efficient than unpaid labor is undead labor.
  • More land means more harvest.
  • He wants a stable government that is loyal to the gods. Say, Urthryn's immortal daughters.
Urthryn:
Well, Urthryn's motivations are actually hard to peg, particularly since she achieved her unlife long goal. I'm gonna place the safe bet and say she wants "more power".
  • Her daughters get to rule over a bigger empire.
  • She gets more followers straight off the bat, and gets to borrow legitimacy from one of the eldest gods around.
  • Nalnir is an idiot, albeit a powerful and efficient one, and Urth invented the Honeypot. No, really.
There are other arguments and synergies, but those are the main ones. I mostly just want the Arthwyd to have a Worthy Opponent, bonus points for getting created as a direct consequence of the Arthwyd's fuck-ups. Thoughts?

I mean Arthwyd already have consequences. Furloc reformed themselves and Urth ascended wich means that Caradysh now have access to both divine and arcane magic, while her daughters distanced themselves from Arthwyd. All consequences of Arthwyd decisions.

Add to it that in Urths case Arthwyd don't seek her destruction because we accepted her offer of peace.

I just want to add a cult of pro-slavery Arthwyd schismatics who'd take over Caermyr.

I don't want to merge all our enemies into one blob of generic evil.

An alliance of convenience, sure, but not an outright merger.

I don't understand why you think a Worthy Opponent doesn't exist outside of the areas we know about.

To be fair, those are kinda far away and won't really be relevant for a while. Sure, the not!Romans will be a Worthy Opponent for sure, but they're all in the way in Africa! Same with the Greek Elves, we have no idea where those even are. And the Communist Bears are on the other side of the giant orange blob of Boarfolk....
