I don't think this is feasible, because Eredin was clearly into the slave business if we could judge his attitude of using Queen Eira as a personal sex slave. Reformation is only possible if the party with the strongest influence consented to the change and Eredin is definitely not it.

If anything else, we should be wishing for the former slaves to win against the South Forluc and Eredin, because you bet your ass that Eredin would not tolerate resistance against his rule, slim though the slaves' chances of winning might be. And if we assist Eredin, we probably would have to fight some of the rebel slaves as well, which is something I really don't like.

Let's just wish for the rebel victory. Or join them by continuing the war against the Forluc. That's the only way I could see for us to "rehabilitate" the culture of the Forluc.

In addition, the demand to abolish slavery would also have serious diplomatic concerns. Every single neighbouring nation is a slave state. If we demand of one to give it up, the rest will start to worry immensely.

Same happened in PoC.

Not that I never said as part of the reforms that we abolish slavery in the Forluc. Quite simply because that is extremely difficult in this time and age when having... 'expendable' and 'cheap' labour is very useful indeed. Instead I think it means we can push the Forluc into reforming into something closer to a 'real' civilisation and less of a xenophobic 'Only True People' nation… who also happens to have slaves, Goddesses damn it, what is with it and other tribes/nations desiring slaves...

[X] [War] Accept Eredan's offer of peace and recognize him as the King of the Forluc in exchange for Arthrynite captives. (+2 Prestige, +2 Temp Diplo, Secured Loyalty of the Colryd)
[X] [Caermyr] Settle Caermyr as a trade outpost and begin to settle the lowlands. (Founds a trade post as Caermyr, Founds a Colony in the northern lowlands)

As much as it pains me, I believe it will be better if our enemy continues to beat itself senseless. Either the nation stays divided, or one of them win -the Forluc core or Northern Forluc, having to wage war to make it so.

As shown by the Prestige, with this action we will win the war. Those we can't save is unfortunate (and I fully expect a stab loss/legitimacy loss from that unless our people are understanding of things), but we can prepare for later since their nation is so antithetical to us. We will be expanding and preparing for another go in the future to silence them- but our martial is too small.
We need more permanent Martial so we can do things properly next time.

Okay, my overall vote depends on what is meant by "secured loyalty of the Corlyd"
Does that mean that we will take them as a vassal state? @Oshha

If so, I'm fine with keeping Caermyr as theres.
If it just makes us very good allies but they are not subordinate to us, then I want to take Caermyr for ourselves.

Yesm but if we establish some sort of vassal state there, we will have control of it anyway while it also gives us actions there suited for the purpose we choose for it.
"It will be a potential outcome on how things turn out as the right combination of choices will get that outcome."

Vassal state is not guaranteed, and the Conflux is too important to risk to chance.

[X] [War] Reject Eredan's peace offer and continue the war against the Forluc.
Letting a slave-based economy share a border with our newly-settled, practically-defenseless, still-barbarian colonies seems like a recipe for disaster.

@Oshha , if we return Colryd to the Colrydian, who exactly is going to be in charge? Did any of Eira's daughters survive?

If we don't shatter the Forluc as a civ now they will attempt to attack us again in the future eventually. There is also the fact that Nalnir is still alive and the fact that He is the main problem.

The problem with 'peace for returned captives' vote is that Eredan has no further obligations. If he is successful in his civil war then he will likely resume the war against us once he has rebuilt. Or if something occurs to distract us (such as a nomad invasion) then he could decide to raid us for resources to support his civil war.
We should choose 'peace for returned captives, & support for future concessions' instead. He will have pledged his life and in his god's name than he will reward our support. We will not be able to get everything we would like, but we could get some agricultural magic and some gender equality reforms.

Caermyr is outside our borders, approximately halfway between us and the Forluc. Being outside our border means it will be much harder to defend, and our values require us to successfully defend our settlements.
While the current strategic situation seems safe (Forluc in civil war, Nomads lack a Hero, no known strong tribes), it could change in the next update or two. The very reasons we have for wanting a settlement at the confluence are the same reasons everyone else would want to take it from us. Our new value Safe Haven (many think you weak) increases the chances that someone will think they can get away with seizing Colyrd from us.

If we make the right combination of choices, then we will gain the Colyrd as a vassal.
To me, the right combination is 'secured loyalty' with 'improved diplomatic relationships' .

Even if we support him, he's still going to have slaves, and Nalnir their god is still going to encourage them to treat people like chattel. Beyond that, nothing in there suggests that his god won't simply tell him screw that oath, once you get settled, kill them all anyways. Their God is just absolutely vile, and treats no one and nothing as important beyond how it can benefit him. We've hurt his people, and thus him. There is a good chance that he'll be pushing for our destruction/subjugation from now on.
