I wouldn't want to actively try to bait him in case he smelled a trap, he basically cannot be tricked as far as I'm concerned but there is a small chance he could see a potential weakness and miscalculate in an attempt to bypass our most effective trump card in it's moment of genuine weakness.
It's all on Turoq himself to make that mistake by himself though.

I pretty much agree with that. He's got a lot of the advantages we've typically relied on, so it means he's not going to easily fall for traps.

I was wondering if Avalanche Shrub research might improve our mining capacity. Would depend on the Shrub's exact method of causing Avalanches. Also, I think in the next turn, the Troll's Metalbreaking abilities might assist in Mining as well.

I am personally not sure about such concentration on anti-cultist actions, since this incursion was a very different one, but then once bitten, twice shy. I wasn't here when everything went to hell first time around, after all.

[X] Plan Nurgle T116

I'd consider finishing up some of the close to complete actions rather than rolling them back a year, then I remembered last time. We'll know if we had the breathing room to do that after the cults are pruned. As for the building, I think the best thing we can do for the trust short term is free up our fleet fully, so we'll finish those last 2 sets of monitors to free up the entirety of our warp fleet.

Looks pretty good overall.

@Enjou
Three minor things you might want to consider.

First, getting a crit on the Lessons Learned isn't going to result in a permanent bonus barring a natural 100 (per Durin), so delaying taking it until next turn/not doubling down on it shouldn't have any significant negative impacts, and could add another action to cult suppression.

Second, I'd really like it if we could delay working on the Titan MIU until we study the Mindcatcher. While that's obviously a no-go this turn due to our inability to budget a Cheating use, we could use the Tranth action to start the programming for the gravitic array. While unlikely to pass (especially without a DD), failing is still likely to reduce the time it takes next attempt, and I see a fully functional gravitic array as a very good potential trump card/trap for Turok.

Third, I'd like for you to consider having Ridcully do a Divination for attacks rather than stacking him on cult hunting. While he certainly adds a fair bit on cult hunting, I see actually knowing if anyone's going to try to shank us while we're distracted and preventing Turok from being able to take advantage of the confusion effectively to be worth more, especially as we're committing a whole hell of a lot to the anti-cult effort.

This is my plan, which is identical to Enjou's plan except it promotes Khol instead of Cheshire. I don't want Cheshire's rambo-style Leads from the front trait in such a high position.

Dude, she has 46 combat and a far harder to kill trait as well. I'd say their survival odds are either equal or weighted in Cheshire's favor. Besides, this is 40k, where Rambo-style works for high command.

Uh, that was on of our earliest Psyker Researches if I recall, around the same time as the Gnaw Worm's Litho-Entropic Touch.

It'll work, but it's also not optimal. Cheshire is more likely to die in battle than Khol:
Samanta Khol said:
Survivor (+2C, even less likely to die)
vs
Florentina Cheshire said:
Leads from the front (+3C, +1D, +10 to morale of force under her command, more likely to die in battle)
And that's enough for me.

And that's enough for me.

But on the flip side, Khol's diplomacy is shit. For generals, that means...

Diplomacy: This represents the generals skills at negotiation and diplomacy. It increases the chance that the general will be able to get a good result from a parley and that a general will be able to work well with allied armies. This is most important when fighting against human opponents and when fighting as part of a combined arms force.

Emphasis mine. The Helltroopers are the guys we send out to assist the Trust. They need to be able to work with armies of other worlds, not just Avernites. If their Marshal has poor diplomacy, then that's going to affect their ability to do so.

Yes, Chesire might die in battle. That could happen on Avernus, too.

I'll also point out that Paulson had the leading from the front trait. She lasted a good long while, through several wars, without dying.

Changing the Y2 Diplomacy action in Enjou's plan to instead ask about the nynye's agriculture. After we did a Complete Examination of Beergrass, we quintupled our bio-promethium production. It was a massive boost to productivity, and though this is just going from memory I think it also gave us +1 relationship with Alfheim.

There are a lot more Avernite plants that we can in theory domesticate, but we have nowhere near the amount of time we need to do Complete Examinations for all of them. Instead, we should simply ask the major agrarian civilisation near us for information on what crops they have, their various merits, and how to grow them. Not only will this greatly improve our own resource production, but since Avernus has Lethal Flora, we may also get new plant weapons and reduced wildlife casualties.

Ultimately, it's a lot more beneficial than looking at the relationship between Asgard and Midgard.

Hmm.

@Durin:
1) how do Khol and Cheshire compare mechanically when it comes to cooperating with Trust forces during military campaigns?
2) will Khol's lower Diplomacy have significantly negative affect on the Trust worlds' views of Avernus?
3) how do Cheshire and Khol's battle survivability compare, with all traits and stats factored in?

So we were discussing awhile ago as to the maximum amount of power we could put into a Banishment Rune, that question came up into our most psychically resilient metal, which we judged to be angelsteel.

Angelsteel Bullets? The ultimate in daemon slaying?

Just a reminder so we don't forget about it Ridcully said he could probably figure out some more things about the Black Crystal Sword and would like to try a look at it again. Not to say we do it this turn or even the next but just a reminder.
