Guys, we have a full100,000 lien, we can stock up on all the supplies.

That said, GM. Is there some kind of special polish the weapon shop sells that Blue loves to have used on him? And can we Purchase said polish?

[X] Camp Supplies- Hunters can be out in the field for weeks at a time. Might as well try and make it comfy.
-[x] Hammock- Bedrolls are alright, but they have their problems- getting damp, laying on rocks, the odd Aranae deciding to crawl in with you for the night- nope, hammocks is where it's at! (200 Lien)

Cheap, harmless and Jaune can use it as his "mobile work space" by just hanging it in a shady spot and relaxing in while he uses the transistor to code.

Guys, while I was wrong about how much money we had, we can Still purchase stuff for ourselves. We don't have to just accept Penny's gift and then stand there like an awkward fish.

@Prok what's our current armor situation like? Do we have a full set of composite, or is it just the chest piece? Is there any advantage to not wearing a piece of composite over no armor beyond not having to buy composite? Also what's the die rolled the movement penalty is done on? D20?
Your armour situation is best described as "I technically use it." Jaune's style of combat is really more about combining long-range attacks and hit and run tactics, so armour's never really been in the forefront of his mind much, because as far as he's concerned, if he's somewhere he can get hit by anything except Nevermore fire, things have gone beyond tits up.

Not wearing armour at all gives you no Aura Bonus, and leaves you out in the lurch if your Aura breaks, but gives you a better chance of just dodging stuff. Training without armour would increase that chance, as you'd expect, but it's a dangerous game to play. Which is why it's rare to Hunters who don't wear armour unless they actually can jump and run and dance around the Grimm because they're like 4'7 and 80 pounds soaking wet. Essentially, anybody who can't pull off some element of what Ruby does turns into Cardin out of necessity. It's really not a topic that has a happy medium.

Also, does Jaune have the absurd amount of aura he's often depicted with here too? This has probably been brought up somewhere before, but I'd like to be sure.
Jaune is above average, but not stupidly so for his age. For local comparison, the next highest in your Signal team was Ada, at 110, then Creme and Lumen join each other below the hundred mark, a fact made up for by parts of their Semblances. For not so local comparison, a fully trained Huntsman straight out of Beacon has somewhere around 5-600 points naturally.

A fully trained, perfectly average Huntsman, stark bollock naked, is worth four of you.

@Prok, how does that work? We pick a material and then we pick a piece and the combined cost is how much we pay for that one piece?
That's exactly how it works, yes. Bonuses, penalties, and prices all stack.

So for example, a full set of steel armour with ceramic inlays might, on one hand, render you nigh invincible to anything short of the personal ministrations of a Deathstalker, but it would run you a cool 12,000-ish Lien, an overall -6 penalty to movement on a d20 roll that you'll almost certainly never get rid of completely, and generally just be a pain in the arse to clean and maintain.

But, again, pretty much impossible to kill for anything smaller than a Deathstalker.

... So you see where the appeal is.

Polish and electronics don't mix.

I feel like Blue should be the one getting a gift. Or maybe giving a gift. It was his date, after all...
You feel the buzz of AI conversation grow a tiny bit louder before she responds, eyes flicking to the ground as she speaks.
Don't worry, they've had this conversation.

All joking aside, I think this entire event broke out of the usual date mould around the time you had a gun pointed at you.

My favorite reference so far has been Minecraft: the Semblance.
That one wasn't even intentional. I just needed a battlefield control Semblance, realised that would be pretty overpowered, and gave it the first limitation that came to mind.

And then Minecraft happened.

At some point, I know I'm going to have to ask myself- do I tone back the references for actual original character concepts, moving past my crutch, leaving the ones I have to stick out like sore thumbs, or do I just keep going, until the quest is so dense with references, that none of them stick out anymore for being obscured by other references?

Guys, while I was wrong about how much money we had, we can still purchase stuff for ourselves. We don't have to just accept Penny's gift and then stand there like an awkward fish.
He's right, you know. You've got 25k to play about with if you want to, and you never know- some of this stuff might save somebody's life.

[] Cache()- You're not sure where this one came from, honestly. Must've been one of those '4 am and your seventh cup of coffee' Functions. Looking it over, you think it would let you hide the Transistor in a small pocket dimension. As well as, other things, but mainly the Transistor. It wouldn't occupy space, or, actually have mass, but you would still be able to communicate with it, and it would still be able to float and follow you around. At least you can have it around without breaking any laws! Or, at least, breaking a different set of laws.
Progress: 0/1200
@Prok, how much can we store in the Cache() at this point?

Does it make a difference if we get more than one set of medical supplies or is it assumed that we have "enough" with just one.

@Prok

[] Chain- Chainmail's an old favourite in the not-dying business. Blades and claws just slide straight off it. Bullets, though... (+10/-2)
What does it cost?.

[] Legs- People bounce back from losing an arm here, but a leg? Not happening. Protect 'em, love 'em, they'll save your life someday. (+10) (150 Lien)
Are you sure about the 150 Lien? Doesnt fit.

And this is why you don't publish at 4 in the morning-

Fixed, thank you. Chainmail is now 800 Lien, and leg pieces are no longer 80% off.

[X] Take the gift offer. You've earned it. (Gift will be chosen at semi-random from below.)

Not entirely sure on the other options. Healing supplies sound like something we are likely to need, though...

[X] Healing Supplies- All Hunters are trained in basic first-aid, but supplies are essential if you want that first aid to actually be effective.
-[X] Medicine Bag- A fairly comprehensive doctor's kit in a roll-up case, containing bandages, slings, antiseptic in the form of a small bottle of iodine, surgical suture and needles, and two syringes of epinephrine. (500 Lien)
-[X] Bleedstop- An admittedly unimaginative name for a very useful product- a thick paste that, when applied to any kind of bleeding wound, will form a thin, gummy barrier, sealing it shut and keeping it safe from infection. (250 Lien)
-[X] Antitoxin Kit- A small plastic box of vials and syringes, containing antivenoms for various forms of Grimm. (750 Lien)

(200 Lien)
-[X] Cook's Kit- one wok, one collapsible frame to set it on, and a spatula. Because everybody needs a hot meal sometimes. (400 Lien)
-[X] Ration Bars- a pack of 8 ration bars, each one 800 calories. Four bars meet the average Huntsman's daily caloric intake, eight'll keep him on his feet after a fight. (150 Lien)
-[X] Ursa Bag- Simple, but effective- put stuff in the bag, throw a rope over a branch, loop rope around stake until the bag is suspended in the air. Keeps any inquisitive animals out of your stuff until you need it. (250 Lien)

We have 25k. We can easily afford this.

Edit: Added camp supplies.

As much as you're willing to risk losing in a potentially unstable pocket dimension, or about a kilogram, whichever comes first.

Buying the sets means you have enough on you to treat any wounded in a normal Huntsman team a few times over, but once you have the set, all you have to do is buy supplies for it, a comparatively negligible cost compared to the sets themselves. Think of it as... having a set number of uses per outing, after which it's restocked at a minor cost.

Don't we already have the healing Semblance for first aid?
Considering it's still in Alpha, and unless you devote... the majority of your time in the next week slot to it, no you don't- not for Initiation, anyway. Besides, Directory_Repair() has its own problems and limitations, like the tendency to help infections as much as the victim of said infection.

Overeliance on a Semblance has been the death of many Hunters.

Not always of the one relied on.

Anyway, vote closes tomorrow 8PM, assuming the freak lightning storm doesn't knock my internet out for good, and the red option update will be up on Sunday.

You may call that undeserved optimism, but no, it's already written out. I couldn't delay it even if I wanted to. Unless, again, lightning storm.

... I wonder if that makes Hold It In the first quest to have an update buffer?

-[X] Steel- Now we're getting into the real stuff. As you can imagine, a full set of steel armour weighs the same as a small child, but the protection is definitely worth it. Besides, who doesn't want to be a knight in shining armour? (+15/-3) (1000 Lien)
-[X] Torso- Your noggin's important and all, but let's not forget that you kind of need the thing it's attached to. (+25) (1000 Lien)

As for the medical supplies, "better to have and not need than to not have and need", the hammock and ration bars just seem like good things to have, and I like the idea of Jaune with some heavier armour. A chestplate or cuirass seems like the appropriate place to start considering what he already has. The movement penalty is unfortunate, but it sounds like that's something we'll train as we keep wearing it, so it's best to start now.
