Mafio Party

I'm awake enough to confirm, but I need to go the f♥k to sleep, so sleep well, and let's game on in the morning.

Day 1 Start: New Beginnings Among Known Strangers
Fireworks soar into the sky and burst into a vibrant cacophony of sound and color as all participants are brought into the first arena. It seems not a single seat is left empty in the stands, denizens of the world of all shapes and sizes gathered together, each with favorites to win and lose this event. The announcer, a member of the Lakitu species, floats down from the sky distinguished as a unique individual with a checker patterned scarf, triangular shades, and a proper sprout of coarse black hair.

"Welcome one and all, we have quite a spectacle prepared for you all over these next few days. Days filled with terrific triumph and disdainful defeats. Tales of weal and woe are weaved into this championship and only one can truly acquire the ultimate reward in the end." The Lakitu raises their hands into the sky as a dazzling Solarflare Star descends from the heavens themselves and illuminates the entire stadium in a burnt gold hue. Hovering only a paltry distance above the Lakitu's hands. "But a reward such as this is coveted by the daring and dastardly in equal measure. Those that wish to attain victory with honor are met with those that believe dishonor is their only option to win this event and thus we shall begin the games not at the first event, but now!" The Announcer claps their hands and the Solarflare star turns the world into texture-less white void and when the world returns to you the star is gone.

You look around and you are certain you know who all these people are, you know they are familiar, but you don't remember their names or pasts, only that they are competitors and that some of you have ulterior motives.

"Let the first elimination of the one deemed most likely to be unsportsmanlike begin now!" Bellows the Lakitu announcer.

Day One has now begun. You have 48 hours from this post until day's end.

[X] Lynch LetMeBeFree

He's admitted that he's a liability to his own side so we should lynch him on the chance he may be town. This risks him being mafia but that's a risk we're going to have to take! :p

Or he knows the future, that his next game would be rolling a Jester. So he's gonna get his win con done!

Noob question but I keep seeing Jester thrown around but what is it? Like I get that they want to be lynched but is it really a bad thing if they do besides the fact the lynch might have hit a mafia instead?

Jester the generic term for a role that wins when lynched. Typically, they get to kill a player who voted them up in the process. So not only does the lynch not hit scum, but you probably additionally lose a town player to it.

I don't recall a time they have ever actually been in a forum mafia game, since it's super easy to get yourself lynched, unless you are Andelevion in a cult game.

We've had... Two or three? I think? But always cases where they became/could become a jester conditionally. Eg in A Game of Light And Shadow I was an executioner who would become a jester if my target got night killed.

Unsportsmanlike? Me? You wound me Terra, can't you see this is all a ploy by the announcer to remove the ones he didn't bet on?

@Nictis, any particular reason for the joke vote when you could vote a player, try to start a wagon, etc? Heck, we've got three players on the letmebefree wagon. Isn't it tempting?
I hardly think it's very sporting of you to ask me to gang up on another, especially considering you don't seem very tempted yourself.

But is it worse than the announcer trying to make a few coins? Humm.
