You are trapped in a burning skyscraper. It is a 50 meter drop from there to the ground. How does your character survive it?

I don't know what you are talking about, i never was in that skycraper. Sure, i have some nasty burns, but those are from an embarrasing kitchen accident.

You are awakened by a SWAT team hammering down your door. You reach under your pillow for something to help deal with this problem. What do you pick up and why?

I yell at them that i am a dangerous skyscraper-destroying terrorist. The SWAT's realize that i am just suffering a psicotic break and let me go after i calm down.

You have created a work of finest artifice, a wonder which will bear your name and part of your will. What have you made?

Shamefully, i am too lazy and unskilled to actually make anything of use. It's never been a problem though, i always seem to find wharever i need when i need it. I am just lucky, i guess.

I go out the window strapped to a chair, in symbolic emulation of Juliane Koepcke's survival of the disintegration of LANSA Flight 508.

A small bag containing the preserved knucklebones of a Boxer rebel, serving as the symbolic anchor for the principle of immunity to bullets.

An unlistenably harsh power electronics album which, to a willingly enduring listener, conveys the great truth that knowledge comes at a price.

In order:
  • Pulling off my jacket, I tie it around my neck in a crude facsimile of the cloak of a prince. Humming dramatic music to myself, I put on my glasses made of celluloid and step out of the real world and into the animated world beside reality that's been created by animation. I can survive the fall there because my heart is pure. Sure, I have to watch out for the bad guys there, but in the movies I'm a prince for real.
  • The framed cell from an original film run of Snow White, showing Snow White singing to the wildlife. As long as I keep hold of this, her power will fill me and I'll be able to talk to animals and call on them for help. There are a lot of rats in cities. A lot.
  • My own hand drawn animated movie - not a scrap of ruinous modern soulless computer animation in it. Everything has to be hand drawn. Everything. It'll be a call-back to the original, proper animated movies and anyone who watches it will realise that. I'll make them realise it.

To figure this out better, I have a few Elder Scrolls/Fallout-style chargen questions.

  • I climb down the side of the skyscraper, using the window frames as handholds.
  • The keys to old smuggler's tunnels beneath my house.
  • The unholy amalgamation of a quadcopter drone and a motorcycle, all spinning blades and shining chrome.

Probably an Orphan. In the game where I played Captain Sparta, someone played a dreamer who wanted to make anime fiction real (who also may or may not have been an Umbrood Lord in her dreams). It doesn't align perfectly with any Tradition. Also, the description doesn't say anything about paradigm, which is what ends up sorting you as much as basic ideals. * I activate a clause of my Contract of Separation and go down, taking relatively minimal damage from the fall.
* I withdraw a Token that allows me to be invisible, as if I had a Contract I did not have. A Token allows me to slip out of there, and then I can run into the Hedge, and abandon this life for a new one.
* A gloriously overpowered Hedgespun raiment, armor fit for Kings or Queens, as well it might be made for.

...

I have become a self-parody. :V

1) I walk through the flames. A real man doesn't run from danger.

2) My sunglasses. A real man must face his enemies with style.

3) A Drill, with which I shall pierce the heavens.

I shouldn't be trapped in a burning skyscraper, because smart mages remote in to work. Assuming this is hostile action, rewind and teleport away. I can always track the arsonists and shower them with gifts from somewhere else, ideally before they become arsonists.

I really seem to be forgetting how to remote in to work here, but, assuming this is hostile action, a widget for rewinding and teleporting away, which I should also be wearing instead of stuffing under a pillow. I suspect my character is under hostile mental influence.

Assuming "Celestial Ladder" is not available here, a better widget for rewinding and teleporting away which does not need to rewind and instead does this with precognition. Fallback is, of course, rewinding and teleporting away automatically, which is a very useful property.

If widgets of automatic teleportation don't count because I've already described how one would be seriously useful, a widget that automates the multithreading > analysis process of mining Arcane XP from unlimited surveillance data would be nice.

Ah, the Chungian paradigm of "I'm a motherfucking sorcerer!"

Let's see, for my last character:
  • She gets rescued by some other Technocrats because she is Actually (Marginally) Important.
  • Her papers, to get the SWAT team to realize that she's Actually (Marginally) Important and they'll be in so much legal shit that it'll go up their nose if they try anything, and then her phone, to yell the local Symposium for letting this happen to someone who's Actually (Marginally) Important
  • A comprehensive memorandum detailing all the ways that the Wu Lung are FILTHY REALITY DEVIANTS and why they ought to be purged for being FILTHY REALITY DEVIANTS that convinces Command to purge them for being FILTHY REALITY DEVIANTS. The phrase "fuck the Wu Lung" is additionally scrawled in every available space in the margins.

So she doesn't like the Wu Lung very much?

- Surely, if I talk to the fire, we can reach an agreement. It's not like it actually wants to hurt all these people.
- A plate of freshly baked cookies. Violence solves nothing.
- Remember these cookies? Yeah, the SWATs do too. They were crying and decided to change jobs and become bakers.

(seriously, what paradigm covers niceness and cookies? That'd make a hilarious character to play amidst all the murderous PCs)

Dreamspeakers for the most part. Unlike NWoD the Old World has good spirits in it. Everything that exists has a voice and you can reach an agrement with it.

Bonus points if you manage to calm the Garous with your super cookies.

  • THE TRUTH

Try and help the rest of my Circle get clear. Attempt to convince them to get me time to craft Ethereal Covers for them too, because turning into a ghost can be really useful here.

My face, which I am now palming because we just got through dealing with the last SWAT raid. Maybe also some soul pact documents because it looks like we'll be needing them soon.

A gadget wood chipper Exploited with Ethereal Cover. Ephemeral entity goes in one end, comes out the other as a Cover. Annoying to get into position though.

What I learned from everyone's answers:
1. Half of you are getting volunteered into E-COM (the E stands for Euthanatos. Also, Expendable).
2. The other half are probably going to die from Paradox.

Sure, if we're all doing this, I might as well jump off this bridge too.

1. For some reason, somebody left a teleportation gate roaming around accessible to data manipulation. I just have to reCalibrate my internal logic to use an alternate set theory...
2. I close my eyes and turn over. What I can't see can't hurt me.
3. A self-reproducing atemporal memetic catalogue of a hundred thousand alternate logical worlds. After a certain point it seemed to start writing itself! (Also keeps making birds divebomb my window and break their wings.)

To be fair, that sounds like a pretty total division in the first place :V.

I forgot to answer this, but here we go:

First of all, my character doesn't survive it, they fall all the way down and are grievously wounded; luckily my expert training and fast reflexes help soften the impact in time for a first aid team to quickly arrive on site and help me make a miracle recovery.

Secondly, I am aware that all of the world is just information anyways, so I calmly pick up a piece of paper and a pencil to write a letter that explains to visitors that I am not here and Iock the information of my existence away until SWATTeamLocationApartment=0 and I can set my information to ManusDomineLocationApartment=1.

Finally, the work I create is a comprehensive guide to formal logic and the One True Way to arrive from one premise to it's ultimate conclusion, which covers any subject from programming to even law; in which all is crystal clear and no ambiguities can exist.

Shortly after you finished it, twin Paradox Spirits in the guises of Turing and Gödel set you on fire.

Look, man, my character took Past Life: Alan Turing. Being obsessed with Snow White and other early Disney movies is part of that. Sometimes you don't get to choose your paradigm - you just get stuck with one because that's what works for you. And then you find you're really more of a UA Adept anyway.

(He also has Invulnerability vs Everything Except Poisoned Apples)

Well, either that or I make a tome that establishes how legal positivism is the One True Way of All Law and also somehow establishes that The Law is a natural force, which therefore makes jurisprudence a social science, a humanity and a natural science at once; as we all know, the more fields that your field of specialization can count as, the stronger it is, therefore this makes jurisprudence the objectively strongest field in the world and grants all lawyers superpowers or something idk. :V
