Rule Zero, my friend. If you don't like something, change it.
Fuck the themes, fuck the canon, and fuck the Goth subculture. I'm playing WoD MY way. Fuck Humanity and all that whiny and pretentious Goth shit. I'm doing things MY way and I don't need "Some Other Game" when I can just hack and modify WoD to my hearts content.
Anyone who doesn't like that doesn't have to play in my games and can go back to listening to Sisters of Mercy and Type O Negative while bitching about "Woe is me, I'm a monster!" like some annoying Goth malcontent.
You play your game your way, and I'll play my game my way. And that is that. I'm going to run this katana-heavy anti-Gothic Vampire game just to spite you guys now.
Oh my god, get some new materials man. Sisters of Mercy? Really? I wasn't even in primary school when they last released an album. You're going on and on and on about them when you're the only one who
actually cares. I had to check wikipedia to even see who they really were, because all I know about them is that they were a band that goths used to like. You're punching at phantom ghosts of the goth subculture while everyone is just staring at you in bemusement.
Your references are just dated, and sad because of it.
And once again, the question that you're posing is this; why do you come here and be so vocal about your contempt for the entire WoD, old and new alike? What makes you think the best way to acquire players for your game is to call everyone a Goth, and then declare that you hate the game as written, that you hate the themes and the canon, and that you just want to do things to spite people here?
So, sure, you can run a game based on hating everything about the themes and canon of either WoD. But stop forcing it in our faces and don't nag about wanting players 3-4 times on a single page. Go find the usual place to advertise for players and do it there, because you'll probably have a lot more success and the rest of us won't have to put up with your exceedingly dated attempts at insults.
...
Just for your information, my Requiem setting owes more to Tarantino and Mafia films than Anne Rice, my Promethean setting is sci-fi and alchemy and freaky angels (just like canon, P:tC so gorgeous), and my Mage the Awakening is the bastard chimeric offspring of canon Awakening, Ascension and Unknown Armies. So your tiresome "Goth" insults are a long way off-point.
