So Clair's challenge is two things Team Larch doesn't have figured out yet, but are working on even before learning the challenge - Be Dragon, Stay Dragon. Or stay [insert type here], anyway, with Dragon being the requisite type. Granted, Dragon was on the backburner before reaching the cave.
I love the Delibird town, it's cute and it's nice that more towns are popping up as a result of Pokemon and humans growing closer. Don't so much love Officer Jenny's attitude towards Pokémon starting towns, but I imagine there'll be some friction across many places as things change. I'm sure it'll work out eventually.
I am somewhat curious about her logic in looking towards Alexa for help with the situation, but I imagine we'll get a bit more there when the League Official arrives.
If the new town doesn't already have a name, I vote Snowdrop Town, befitting both Johto's plant-themed town names and being a flower that sprouts in freezing temperatures, popping up through snow.

Yep, this is the big challenge I have had waiting for the team so it got a good amount of setup... and a major reason I struggled with another Gym after this one, because where do I go from there with the Fighting type?

One of the more dramatic variants is Grimer, which has become a Ground-type in addition to its Poison typing, gains the coloration and consistency of quicksand, and lies in wait beneath berries or objects of value in hopes of catching prey unawares.
While its prevolution Koffing is scarcely affected, a Weezing who evolves within a Hydropellant Field gains the Fire typing and an affinity for the move Rain Dance, which it performs by superheating (and then releasing, obviously) a cocktail of gaseous chemicals within itself that encourages the rapid formation of clouds and condensation of water into rain.
Koffing Evolution: Lv. 35, in an Origin Sand desert —> Weezing (Hydropellant Field)
Weezing (Hydropellant Field)

Learns Rain Dance upon evolution.
Appearance Notes: Instead of the faded purple of regular Weezing, these Weezing are darker and more reddish-colored. Red potatoes are about the color I'm envisioning. Their stoned, gormless expression gives way to an angrier mien, and the tops of their two heads taper upwards in a manner resembling a pair of volcanoes.
There's also gyroball abuse, speed switching, counter/mirror coat/destiny bond timing, also the boosts to the other stats granted by dropping speed to 1.

The venomoth have only recently been classified as a regional variant after rigorous research because they look nothing like Kanto Venomoth and the Venonat variants are assumed to never leave the nest. Oh caught Venomoth breeding? See aforementioned pseudo-legendary nightmares. Catching these things is a death sentence and suggesting it to a local gets you run out of towns if you're lucky
Venonat Evolution: Use Spoon Gourd —> Venomoth (Spoon Gourd)
Venomoth (Spoon Gourd)

-The Pokémon uses this move repeatedly (at no PP cost aside from the first usage) for 2-3 turns, and then becomes confused. This move's execution cannot be interrupted by the user's confusion status, but said status also has no chance of curing itself while this move continues.

And no, at no point is Venomoth/Tyrannomoth able to learn Skill Swap or any other move that could change its Ability.
Seeing as it's been twenty-four hours without anybody posting or my above post being acknowledged besides the threadmark, I think I'll just move on to the rest of the Spoon Gourd Pokémon.

Sorry, I'm not that familiar with the finer details of pokemon stats, and this was someone else's item, so I didn't really have anything new to comment.

Mudkip (Reithe)

—Hidden Ability: Water Absorb (note that this ability is rare even by the standards of Hidden Abilities, as the Reithe Desert is unkind to those who aren't sufficiently Fire-resistant. On a Pokémon as weak as Mudkip, half damage ain't cutting it. It's safe to say this Ability won't appear outside of captivity.

There we go. Tweaked the proposed Ability somewhat, hope it's not too OP (though it shouldn't be). It's all original material from here on out.

So, I'm fine with threadmarking these, but this one feels a bit bare.
Are there any other single species you could include here? Alternatively, since this appears to be a new pokemon example maybe you can add in some of your thoughts about how these Absol work?
Maybe give some examples of "light-based moves"?
Looking at the list of moves the theoretical category's a bit more ambiguous outside of the obvious(Flash, Flash Cannon, Light of Ruin, Merriam's signatures), so yeah it does kinda need elaboration. Especially since there's an argument to be made for bypassing Reflect/Light Screen). By comparison Soundproof only has two moves that aren't immediately recognised as sound moves from the name.
